BEYOND PLEASED!!!…read more Came in to grab some donuts for a lazy/late Sunday morning (11am-ish) breakfast... was immediately greeted by the two lovely ladies behind the counter (I believe it was Daysha and Brooke?). Super sweet, bubbly, helpful, and just all around pleasant. They really seemed to mesh well and genuinely enjoy their jobs (BIG PLUS for the all around vibe). Got a mixed dozen and to say these were the freshest donuts I've had in Portland WOULD BE A SUPREME UNDERSTATEMENT. I consider myself a semi connoisseur of OG good donuts and these are hitting all of the marks!! For these donuts to be so insanely fresh, soft, and delicate AT 11am should speak VOLUMES. Glaze to donut ratio was perfect, good flavors, some great shaping techniques as well as some fun Littles. They have the little milks and juices to accompany your treats which is a hallmark sign of the thoughtfulness of a good shop (think biscuits with no drink... you're gonna suffer without some good liquids for your donuts!!). The littlest wild baby creature even got to practice his manners upon receiving a fresh donut hole perfectly sized for his little bear paw. They close at noon to ensure no dry (stale) donuts are sold so be mindful of not being TOOO snuggly and missing their open window. This is now my new fave go to in Portland. No understatement, all truth, no lies told! Soooooo good! 12/10 for staff + donuts + parking ease. While we were having lunch, he pulled up their website and was delighted to see they do, in fact, offer one! We popped in on a Sunday around 2:00 pm, not expecting much to be left in the case, and were delighted to see a fully stocked case of donut wonders. Our daughter got a devil's food with coconut, she got a maple old fashioned for her partner, I got a glazed chocolate with coconut, and my hubby got a devil's food with rainbow jimmies. I presume the owner helped us, based on the glowing reviews here. He was, indeed, warm and friendly. When we got our box of donuts home, I noticed he had put some complimentary donut holes inside, which was a sweet (literal and figurative) surprise. I didn't have a chance to eat my donut until this afternoon. I had put mine on a plate with some plastic wrap, and it was just as fresh and tasty as if I had just picked it up. Ironically, when we lived in the East Bay, CA, our favorite donut place for years was also called Donut King! It feels like the universe is sharing some sweet serendipity with us. One of their locations in downtown Portland had a fire recently, and so they're currently utilizing their truck and parking it just around the corner in a shared foot truck lot in the meantime. Fifty Licks is often compared to Salt and Straw because of their unique and interesting flavors. Their most popular flavors are their MANGO STICKY RICE and OREGON STRAWBERRY (and yes- Oregon strawberries are unique and much sweeter than your average Driscoll strawberries found in the supermarket). They give samples and so I sampled the HONEY CORNBREAD and the MATCHA MOCHI which were both great (the latter which had great sticky mochi texture but could use stronger matcha flavor), but I fell in love with their MANGO STICKY RICE. MANGO STICKY RICE is a classic Thai dessert made from as you guessed, mango and sticky rice mixed with sweet coconut. Fifty Lick's rendition of this dessert is spot on and is full of coconut, pieces of rice (which I don't know how they keep them from hardening!), and a mango compote swirl. It was creamy (not to mention vegan and gluten free) and may have been one of the best ice cream scoops I've had in a long time. A single scoop is $6.90, which I believe is pretty similar to Salt and Straw. The woman working the truck was super friendly and happy. The truck shares communal outdoor bench seating with the other food trucks around it, but I had no problem getting a seat. As an ice cream fanatic, Fifty Licks definitely lives up to the hype and worth the stop. I look forward to visiting again in the future- hopefully when they're back to have a fully operating storefront in Portland! Overall: 5/5 for ice cream, 5/5 for service

They had a few scone flavors and breads like pumpkin bread and banana bread. The server was really nice and patient. I decided to get a cheddar and jalapeño biscuit, apple spice scone and chocolate chip cookie. The biscuit was really good. Nice crisp on the exterior and fluffy on the inside. The apple spice scone was my absolute favorite! It was delicious. I would definitely recommend and I can't wait to try more of their menu.

Today I had to run out to Molalla for a plant delivery and, on a whim, typed "bakery" into Maps... and THANK GOODNESS I did, because this place is an absolute treasure! Tucked just off Beavercreek Road near 213, it's hidden among the warehouse spaces -- but trust me, once you turn off the main road, it's right there and so worth the stop. The moment I walked in, I was hit with THE most heavenly smell. You know that warm, cozy, life-is-good kind of aroma? Yeah, that. Fresh cinnamon rolls, hot focaccia, cookies just out of the oven, quiche, sandwiches... it was sensory overload in the best possible way. I genuinely wanted to buy one of everything. I ended up grabbing both focaccias -- the rosemary sea salt (perfection) and their special mascarpone version -- plus a ham & cheese quiche made with locally raised ham from Campfire Farms here in Oregon City. The fact that they source local ingredients whenever possible? Huge bonus. And let me just say... this focaccia might actually be the best thing I've ever tasted. Dipped it in olive oil, herbs, and a drizzle of caramelized onion balsamic and suddenly remembered that simple, high-quality food is pure magic. Everything here is freshly baked DAILY, and they're only open Thursday-Saturday, so plan ahead! They're also taking Thanksgiving pie orders (and likely more holiday desserts), so if you want to impress your guests this season, place a preorder ASAP. Trust me.
