I can't believe I haven't written this yet. As Divino's is one of our favs, and by ours, I mean family/friends and everyone in between. And every time I pull up, I can't help but sing "Money Bag" by Cardi B because I know someone at the table is ordering the Divino pasta. This time it was me, and it slaps every time. Mushrooms, chicken and moneybag pasta in a creamy, marsalaish sauce. Chef's kiss. Baked clams also hit hard, but you have too if you have Lenny's down the block and you want to measure up. But I have to say, what really takes the cake (quite literally) is the rainbow cookie cake. Now, I'm like the worst Italian American because I don't really care for rainbow cookies. This cake was so delicious I could have had the whole slice too myself and not be mad about it. I was shocked at how I overlooked the almond flavor because other components of the cake were that outstanding. Please someone tell me they make it in house, and if not tell me where to find it. Was at the trampoline arena next door and saw a pizza place across the street and decided to try some . Upon entering we realized it was more than just pizza but a full restaurant and we decided to sit down and have dinner. We started with the frozen mango margaritas that were huge and flavorful. We got some pizza and soda and also had the davino pasta with chicken Parmesan. The pizza was good and piping hot, and the pasta was good and portions were large. They were celebrating someone's birthday and played happy birthday by Stevie wonder on the loud speakers and the whole restaurant clapped and chimed in,it was magical. Went back to DiVino's with my 3 adult sons and 84 year old mother yesterday. The service was great, the food was delicious, the ambiance was relaxed. We had chicken parm, which was a huge portion and was cooked to perfection and smothered in mozzarella goodness. The eggplant parm was also crispy on the outside and melt in your mouth tender. I had the chicken francese with pasta, and that was a butter and lemon delicious explosion in my mouth. As for service, they were attentive and entertaining. Interacting with us all and being all around great people. Wine glasses were kept full without asking. Which we all appreciated. Over all DiVino's is a great place to enjoy all your favorite italian dishes. Oh! Did I mention their money bag pasta? A must try for sure. I'll be returning soon. Warm white wine, I said this wine is warm, he blankly stared at me , I said get us ice for wine at which point my wife noticed a huge lipstick stain on my glass, so he takes glass and brings back a glass of "fresh wine " and it was less than the contaminated glass. Ridiculous. Ordered pasta and meatballs and he said side of meatballs I said no and pointed on menu what I wanted, bill comes and he put $9 side of meatballs. I have eaten there since they opened. I was very disappointed when I tried to make reservations on New Year Eve for 18 people. I stopped in the restaurant and was told the person who takes reservations will be in later. I left my name and phone number. The next day I called and was told to expect a callback soon. That call never came. I gave it one more chance and I am still waiting for a callback. I used to eat there twice a month with 8 to 10 of my friends. I have not gone back since. 5 years later and Divinos is still one of my favorite spots to eat and order from. You can't and won't go wrong with whatever you choose. The pizza is excellent, the pasta and even the salads. Learned about Divino from a colleague who lives a couple blocks away. We met there for the first time about 2 years ago, I fell in love with the Mista salad and kept going back. This review is being written after about my 5th dine in and several take orders. I've never had a negative experience. The food is top tier and the customer service has consistently been great. Keep in mind that I'm a creature of habit and so I I've only had the pizza which is AMAZING, the Mista salad( minus the walnuts) and with grilled chicken - AMAZING and some of the desserts - TO DIE FOR. They also serve Junior's Cheesecake (slices and whole). Ambiance is quintessential Italian. You're going to see large groups, lots of families eating, it's going to get a little loud but it's not obnoxious. You can still enjoy the company your with and dine in peace. The baked clams were tasty, small, but had real meat. The veal sorrentino was in a white/lemon cream sauce which I did not like. Very heavy. I've had sorrentino dishes at Long Island Italian places that were delicious, and this did not hit the spot. I much prefer the red marinara sauce. Also the cream sauce had a film on top, so heavy. The penne ala vodka was pretty tasty. The shrimp Francese was overly battered and only consisted of 6 pieces of shrimp, which just looked sad- considering you're paying like $26 for this dish. Wasn't even picture worthy. Also the lemon francese sauce was too thick- also with the film across the top. Bleh. The house salad was pretty good. All in all- I'd say if you're going here stick to the pizza. We did not get it, but it definitely looked much more appealing and much more affordable. There was a decent crowd waiting for tables and honestly I was too hungry to wait, but my friend said the food was really good and we should be patient. I'm so happy that I listened to him. My baked clams were awesome. A dozen filled with seasoned breadcrumbs and covered in a rich buttery garlic sauce. I could easily have eaten another dozen. My dinner of shrimp parmigiana with linguine was equally as delicious. Jumbo shrimp fried up lovingly and coated in a thick marina sauce and creamy mozzarella.
