Stopped by for lunch on a Sunday with my family and had a great time. Everyone working here was so nice and helpful. We ordered at the pizza counter but sat in the back at a long high top table which comfortably fit all nine of us. There's a big skylight in the back which let in lots of natural light. There's also a couple tvs which they'll play YouTube music videos on. We ordered two dishes of the penne alla vodka to share, two dishes of the clam linguini, one grandma cheese pizza and one meat lovers pizza. The penne alla vodka was my favorite, as well as the meat lovers pizza. We also got two large 2 liter bottles of Sprite and Ginger Ale. Called for a delivery ... took me 5 minutes to give my address and then they proceeded to tell me they don't deliver in my area... I live not even 10 minutes away by gps and it's ironic the pizza place further down from them " family pizza restaurant " had no hesitation delivering ... Haven't been here is years but they didn't miss a step. I kept it simple with a pepperoni pie. The crust was baked to perfection. I'm not sure if sauce is doing all the heavy lifting or if they throw a little seasoning on the entire pie but it was delicious down to the last bite! Not sure if they're under renovations but, there's a secondary seating area beyond the cashier that can be closed off for private gatherings at the restaurant. read more

This place is just wrong. The fruit flies confirm the feeling of being dirty on my food. The pizza is freaking breezy and plain nasty. You can fry something using the amount of oil it has. I would not recommend it to anyone who knows what at least decent pizza tastes like, not to mention they need to clean everything there. Cheese looked and tasted like imitation mozzarella. But that's not even the worst part. They had the AUDACITY to call this Italian wedding soup. I absolutely adore Italian wedding and on a cold November night like tonight, my craving kicked in. I saw that they offered it and was so excited to have some. Came home, opened up the container and I'm still trying to pick up my jaw from the floor. It's basically cut up burger meat and big macaroni noodles in water. THATS IT! No cute ditalini pasta, no scrumptious mini meatballs, NO GREENS, and absolutely no flavor. Customers Beware: The service makes the food worse. The pizza is mediocre at best, small slices at max prices and the flavor is nothing to write home about. However the customer service makes it not worth the visit. The server behind the counter is so passive aggressive and dismissive when you ask for something on your order. The management is a joke. I came to get a lunch today, they are opened for limited sitting inside but have neither access to the restrooms nor sanitizers for the customers. Increased hygiene is a must for any establishment during the pandemic, especially food industry. When I asked the manager this question how a customer supposed to eat not being able to wash his or her hands and not having a sanitizer the manager just asked me to leave. I can't believe how rude can one be, obviously don't care about their businesses and the customers who wanted to support their local establishment. Maxis pizzeria in inwood is by far the best pizzeria in all of Long Island. Regardless of the fact that the owner is a Juventus fan, I still love going there for the great food and atmosphere. I strongly recommend the Buffalo pin wheel or any of the signature dishes they serve in the restaurant area. You cannot go wrong! read more

Food is inconsistent and there are better options available in the area. I ordered the same salad 5 times and each time it comes with different things in it. The last salad I received was the worst: a cesaer salad with grilled chicken - and green olives??? It was horrible. The pizza was fair. Not enough quality cheese or sauce. The dough was undercooked. The owner is too busy with his other pizza stores to pay attention to what is going on at his Inwood store. Such a shame, since I remember Max since he started with my friend Peppe. Got a chicken Caesar salad and a grilled chicken slice. Salad was great; the chicken in it was really good and well seasoned. I also really enjoyed the slice- there were pieces of grilled chicken and diced tomatoes. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy- much lighter and fresh as opposed to a regular cheese slice. It's like going to a family members home when my family and I walk into Max's. The pizza is great, a lot of variety and you don't have to buy an entire pie to taste any one of them because they sell them by the slice.
