Angela's has good Pizza... It's not like the new haven style that this pizza snob is used to but it is a solid pizza. Ordered delivery and it traveled well (guy delivered on a bike) I liked the crust and they weren't skimpy with the pepperoni. Just an overall good pizza! Also got the greek salad and that was a good choice too! It was a chopped lettuce salad, which I wasn't expecting but that's the 2nd time I ordered a salad in this area and the lettuce was chopped/shredded so maybe it's just a Brooklyn thing... Have no idea what the inside looks like or how their customer service is, but I would definitely order take-out/delivery again... read more

What a wonderful find for me . I was driving by this pizzeria, on my way to Pennsylvania. I ordered a large cheese pizza, and the owner asked if I wanted any toppings. I told him no thank you. He then whispered to me it's on the house (so kind of him), so I opted for pepperoni. The pizza was fresh, hot, and the marinara sauce used was perfect (not harsh at all). The serving size is also generous, the pizza was HUGE. There is plenty of seats to dine in and enjoy your meal, and the customer service as stated earlier was superb! I will definitely be visiting again in the near future. read more

Hands down the BESTTTTTTTTTTTTT garlic knots! The pizza is always consistent and delicious. It is a bit on the smaller size but there's a few booths to still sit comfortably to either wait or eat. There's a huge assortment of sodas too which is nice. The staff is always so friendly too read more

This place used to be good. One day I ordered a Calzone with meatballs and got food poisoning. I been coming to this place for over 15 years. Back when mama Angela was alive and the store was sooo much different. Food used to be amazing! Last time I enjoyed the food was when Joey... the son of Angela made the food for us. He always had a gifted hand for food. Suddenly I stopped seeing him and the food started to cheapen in quality. The meatballs seemed like they were frozen. The dough had a much tougher and gummier texture. Sauce even tasted different. I guess the pizzeria was no longer under his management. One day I ordered the calzone with meatballs. When it arrived it looked bad. Hungry i was.... i ate half of it to be on the safe side. Half is all it took. Couple of hours later I was in pain. Real pain. Wasn't able to recover for couple days. Maybe I just had the short end of the straw and got a calzone that was left out by mistake. Don't really know... this place is nice looking and kept clean. Maybe its the cheapen ingredients. Who knows. Hopefully they turned back to using better ingredients since my poisoning. One day I might come back and see if the calzone is still bad or has somewhat improved since I'm not to far away. read more

I absolutely love Angela's pizza. Customer service is great. Their pizza is way better than the other pizza shops out here. Won't say no names. I used to go to one on crescent but came to this one and got hooked. Also they sell chocolate chip cookies and if you ask for them warmed up.... Hits the spot after a nice blunt. read more

I really wanted to like this place, truly I did. The fact of the matter is, they just don't make good pizza. The portions were great but the pizza just had no flavor and nothing going for it. Here's what I ordered: Large regular cheese pie: all 4 people agree: zero taste, huge slice. Large Hawaiian: same as the cheese pie Buffalo style wings: nothing spectacular. Just very average wings. Number of visits: Twice. Do I dare give this place five stars? Yes! Yes, I do! And for good reason. So, I haven't actually been there personally, and I lived in the area since I was little without ever knowing about them. Grubhub is what I used to order from them online. I read the reviews and was impressed by the perfect five they have, and wanted to wait for a special occasion to try them out. Whenever I'm hungry is always a special occasion. What have I tried of theirs? The chicken marsala pizza, garlic knots, and cheeseburger deluxe. The pizza was delicious: chewy and oily, but from the tip to the crust, rich in flavor. The chicken pieces were substantial and quick to make one satisfied. The garlic knots were almost like nibblers. I requested for them to be extra oily and garlicky, and they came through with that. Pop one in your mouth and they were tasty little treats. The options on Grubhub aren't extensive, so I had to ask, "Can cooked mushrooms be added [to the cheeseburger]?" And they were, which made me feel accommodated. The burger itself was moist, and probably the best burger from any pizzeria I've tried. Same with the French fries, which were crispy and crunchy. You get what you pay for. It's a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. Why did I give this place five stars? For quality and for making my dinner the way I wanted it. On point. Five stars. Absolutely delicious pizza! Me and my boyfriend had a half and half pizza (half reg cheese pizza & half bbq chicken) it's was sooooo yummy. Let me just say, this was the first NYC pizzeria that I've been to so far that made my pizza RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Yes, I got a pie that FRESH. I've been living in the Cypress Hills/ENY area my entire life but have never walked into this pizzeria; and I know ask myself, WHY?! I guess the answer is because I usually get my pizza a bit closer to home (6-7 blocks away). This is your quintessential, NY pizzeria at its absolute finest! I stumbled into this place after a long day of holiday shopping. I figured since I was trying a new pizzeria, and I was starving, I would get their "special" pie with the works. I was greeted by the owner, a real sweetheart and I believe he is the son of the original owner, Angela. He was so polite, courteous and attentive when asked about the menu and when was told I'm a newbie to his place but a long time citizen of the area. They do not deliver but that does not bother me as I am happily willing to drive to them and pick up their delicious pizza anytime! If you're from the area or just passing through, please try their pizza. They offer other dishes as well that I will definitely try in the future. The pizza here is always delicious, and I always do delivery, and a plus is that, if you need to use a debit card, they will bring the card machine, which is a big plus for me, whenever I call they are very polite. I will definitely continue to order from Angela's pizzeria. read more

They made all of my slices burnt and I said in the notes section "please don't burn my slices but instead make them well done, thank you." And yet they made all of them burnt and don't order their chicken fingers, unless you want "chicken cutlets" cuz that's what I got. Never again, I wasted 136.94 on all of our food read more

We ordered on DoorDash (they've since claimed that they will be removing this restaurant due to their incompetence). We ordered mozzarella sticks, fettuccine Alfredo with crispy chicken, garlic bread, and a slice. Pretty simple order. They instead delivered fettuccine in garlic and oil with grilled chicken, no pizza in sight anywhere. We called the restaurant, guy claimed they don't use DoorDash. No receipt found. Well the food had JUST been delivered to us. He magically found the receipt and tried to blame DoorDash for the mistake (they had no part in it). We photocopied the receipt showing our order and he saw that everything was wrong that we ordered. Then he said that he can't redeliver the correct stuff since I'm "too far" (eight minute drive away FYI) even though they messed up the ENTIRE order. Wound up getting our money back from DoorDash but we leave this review hungry and with nothing to eat. read more

Great pizza in the middle of a tough neighborhood! Place is decorated warm and nicely with a real sense of the owners tradtion. I think its named after his nonna (grandma). A flat screen is on the wall usually playing something customer's would be interested in as opposed to most others who play something they want to watch. He has a nice fish tank with some exotic fish in it that he'll gladly talk about if not too busy. Owner is a complete gentleman and seems to be hardworking. He also makes a very good slice of pizza! The only reason I would take a star off is I think the outside area might take away from enjoying your visit to Angela's. Not me of course, as I am high level black belt Kill Bill Kah-rot-tay! This evening I felt hungry but didn't know what to eat. There are lots of restaurants and fast food but the thought of getting food in some of these places is not the best so I said let me go on Yelp and this place caught my eye and I didn't realize how close I live to this place. Specifically traveled to this place because of the reviews. It truly is a hole in the wall, where you can casually sit down with a group of friends and vibe. The ambiance is welcoming and comfortable as well as the owner is exceptionally nice. The menu is limited but that's not a big deal, it's a pizza shop. The pizza itself is good but not a throatgasm. I had a regular cheese pizza slice and it was underwhelming. It's more like the pizza you have on the go without any expectations. It definitely didn't leave me wanting more. Started coming here a little while ago. I think its the best in the area. The pizza is delicious and filling, great price, sweet cookies, and the staff are great. Very friendly people working here. They have some interesting pizzas every now and then. A Caesar salad kinda pizza and a cool quesadilla one. She got me set up and ready within 10 minutes. The shop was busy at 11pm to closing and everyone looked like they were having a good time. It's a bar pizza shop in the heart of Williamsburg. They even offer free WiFi here, which is kind of cool. The spot is filled with nostalgic tapes, movies, and games that feel like a throwback. Best to come with more people and try a variety of flavors here though.

Personally, I would not rate this pizza anywhere near a 9.3, especially considering how many great pizza options there are in Brooklyn. That being said, it is still a good slice and worth trying. I just don't think it quite lives up to the hype or the exceptionally high rating it has received.

I've been eating L&B Spumoni Gardens for as long as I can remember, and it remains exactly what it's supposed to be: loud, crowded, unpretentious, completely its own thing, and ridiculously good. The square slice is the square slice. Sauce on top, cheese underneath, crispy edges, soft center. Don't overthink it. Get one. Then realize you should have gotten two. The sit-down food is classic Brooklyn Italian comfort food, the portions are generous, and obviously you finish with the spumoni. This isn't precious food and it isn't trying to impress anybody. That's precisely the point. Brooklyn has changed about 9,625,247 times in my lifetime. L&B is still L&B. Five stars. Always.

Sometimes I do tip extra generously, but I don't want to feel like I was tricked into doing it! Looking thru reviews here, I see other people also experienced this, including people in small parties who were locked into the 20% when it should have definitely been 18%. :/ So close to a good experience, but ruined by tricksy billing.

The Penne Vodka Sauce Pizza was just okay. The menu only mentioned vodka sauce and cheese, but it actually came topped with penne pasta, which wasn't listed and was unexpected. The calamari was also disappointing -- it was very chewy and the breading was soggy rather than crispy. Overall, the texture and execution of the dishes could have been much better. read more
