I'm still amazed at how cheap this place is. I finally used them for delivery not too long ago and got a large pepperoni pizza for $10. I can eat on that thing for three or four meals. They have an elotes cart set up outside, and I've gone to it a couple of times. I guess during cold nights they keep the elotes stuff inside. It's not the best elotes in town, like they don't have fresh corn, but hey it works in an elotes pinch. Just make sure home girl doesn't forget the hot sauce. read more

We ordered that, spaghetti and meatballs, regular spaghetti and got a couple of salads. When placing the order I understood everything they were saying, but for some strange reason they couldn't understand me. They estimated a speedy delivery of 20-25 minutes, but 45 minutes later we were still waiting. We called back and the guy said he was sorry, he got busy. Nico is so on the money! "Okay 10 minutes" is what the man said when I ordered my large pepperoni and black olive pizza. I thought he was joking when he also said 8 bucks. What? Are you serious? This little pie factory is located in a shopping center, and will have you wondering if this is such a good idea after all. I assure you it is. My hungry little fingers opened the box on the way home to pick off a piece of the pepperoni. It was slicy, and you could actually taste the flavor of the meat unlike other places. The olives were fresh and the crust was thin. There was A LOT of cheese involved, but it was really good. No I didn't finish the whole pie that night, but I can't say it was around for much longer. And of course, it was better cold the next day. Every pizza is better cold, I think. But I'm also a weirdo. They have some super cheap lunch specials that are under $4 I think too. Whoa. If you are looking for something other than a pizza, Divino will hook you up with lasagna, baked ziti, stuffed shells, stromboli, and calzones. After reading Nico's review I think I'll order that next time. If you walk into the store, they have a menu with coupons on the back. It's pretty ridiculously cheap. If you and your boo want to get grub but don't have the change right now, then grab a coupon for the 2 lasagna with salad, bread, and two cokes for $12. There are tons of other options, so I suggest you check it out for yourself! Also, I wouldn't plan to dine here since it's so small, but it's perfect for a pick-up order. P.S. This gem hidden in the heart of old East Dallas is a testament to great value and taste. I've been here twice now, and have been thrilled each time. I'm not very hard to please, but easy to piss off, I mean really easy. That being said, I had a hard time believing at first that these prices equaled good food. I was pleasantly surprised. On the first visit I got a medium 1 topping pizza for $8.00. Yes $8...and it's 14 inches wide. Great size for the price. The toppings are $1, but you get a lot of them. Even the cans of Coke are only 75 cents; a good deal at a retail local...any retail local. On the second visit I had their lunch special(which was still on on a holiday..any other place would nix that on a holiday to make more money). It was 2 slices, with two toppings) and a Coke for $4.25. That's a value deal in my book (see the pic I put in this review and you'll agree). I spoke with the owner(yes the owner is in the store and runs the place); he's been in business 23 years. I've been coming here since I moved to Dallas in 1999. Even though I've since moved to a nearby city, I still work nearby and it's one of my go-to lunch spots. I've only really eaten two things here--the pizza-by-the-slice and the Stromboli. Their $2.15 lunch special of a slice w/ two toppings and a can of soda can't be beat. The pizza is a good New York style thin crust pizza. The quality of the dough and toppings are good, especially for the price. You're not going to think you're in NY by any stretch, but fortunately that includes the cost. The Stromboli at Divino's isn't shaped like a classic Stromboli. Instead of being rolled up into a log shape, Divino's seems to do what most American pizzerias do nowadays, which is take a small pizza and fold it in half. I think it looks more like a calzone. But looks aside, It's a FRICK'N SMALL PIZZA FOLDED IN HALF! It's stuffed full of pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, mozzarella, and marinara sauce. It comes with a cup of marinara sauce on the side. After having the Divino's Stromboli, I've come to prefer it this way. The owner and his employees are friendly and the service is great. read more

Just went in for a quick lunch and didn't have much time, so decided to get a couple of slices to go. $1.25 per slice and a little more for additional toppings, so got onions and jalapeno's (part time veggie here). I have to agree with the other reviews about the pizza being very greasy. Not sure whether it was the time it took me to eat it at work, but the crust was soggy and the toppings left a lot to be desired. Seems like they just warmed up the pizza and put the topping before they put it in a box. I love pizza, but can't say I'll ever visit Divino's again. The guy on the phone couldn't understand English, couldn't hear me. WHAT? No we don't have that topping. WHAT? No we don't have a menu online. WHAT? Pesto? What is that? WHAT? No artichokes. Too fast: the crust was undercooked and doughy and raw-ish. I've never had a pizza with raw dough before - apparently every pizza joint on the planet except Divino's has pizza cooking time nailed (kinda basic if you are in the business of making pizzas). If, hypothetically speaking, you have no teeth and need to gum your dinner to bits, REJOICE: this is the pizza for you. Otherwise ick. Amount of toppings and cheese were both fine. Sauce was very bland: could not detect any garlic, basil, or other flavors. Small hint of pepper from the pepperoni. Price was cheap for a large pizza: $12. I'm not sure how long they've been in business, but I've been ordering from them for over 17 years. Yes, the pizza can be a bit drippy (I always ask for crispy just in case), but $10 for a really large pizza without all the delivery fees etc. can't be beat. Calzones and strombolis are incredible and a bargain at about $5 for basically a medium pizza folded in half (share it or prepare to have leftovers). Lasagna is huge and delicious. Try the lasagna-for-two dinner (again expect leftovers) which comes with a simple but incredibly delicious side salad (I think there's something about the cheese on it...). You can save and pick up the dinner for a special price of about $11--that's for two people and, most definitely, for two meals as well. I've ordered takeout, and live nearby, so their estimates of delivery time are always vastly over what it actually takes. Typically I hang up the phone and moments later the dude is at my door. The pizza is good - nyc style. Not too thick and not too chewy (Zini's is too chewy). The toppings are ample, and priced accordingly. Their delivery minimum is $10. I also got garlic bread last time (no cheese), and it was okay, but the garlic only spanned the middle of the length of the roll. The medium pizza can easily feed 4 (2 slices per person). The pizza can get a bit soggy if you leave it in the box and don't wiggle it around to reduce the cheese drainage in the middle. The folks who work at Divino's are easy for me to understand, but for some reason they can never figure out what I'm trying to say. I don't think I have a horrible lisp or weird accent, but at any rate, despite the frustration of the communication difficulty, my order still arrives at my door correct. read more

I was on a mini vacation and the hotel had a flyer for this pizza place and it said they deliver for free to the hotel I was staying at, but when I called to place the order, they told me they wouldn't deliver. So I came to pick it up and waited what felt like forever. The wings were the most disgusting wings I have ever had in my life. I was disgusted and so disappointed. The pizza wasn't the best either. The crust was soggy and greasy. I know this is going to sound nasty, but I was going to bring the pizza back home with me to Louisiana... maybe try to eat it and I forgot it in the car... it must have been a week and the pizza looked exactly the same. Like it was still shiny with grease. It looked like plastic and there was no bad smell! I really don't recommend this place. Divino's is alright. i live nearby and want to like it more than i actually do. yes $7 for a one topping is pretty insane. so if you want to make it about that, you can. and it's great. it's also not NY style in any way, so dont think that either. it's better than Little Caesar's, Pizza Patron for the cheap, quick option. and i really dont eat Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc. but i'd get divino's before them too. it's very greasy, just know this. im not really ever put off by grease on a pizza and have never administered the napkin dab move. but the grease was pooling all over the pizza. the half-half toppings were scattered totally haphazardly all over. the slice cuts were completely f'ed up and on one half of the pie there was no crust b/c the tomato sauce (and a teeny bit of cheese) covered it. i typically like more than just one topping on my pizza. so if you add any ($1 each) you have a $10+ dollar pizza pretty quickly. my recent order was $11 and change. and i think that's when you lose the threshold for Divino's. i would have rather paid $4 more and got Urbino, which still isnt grrreat, but certainly in a different world from Divino's. so moral of the story...if you want a cheap, quick one or two topping pizza for under $10. go to Divino's, dont expect greatness and expect some grease and you'll be happy! read more
