I held for eight minutes and called back and was asked to hold again and I started to ask if I was going to have to hold just as long and was put on hold in the middle of my sentence. I hung up and called back a third time and was asked to hold, I asked if I would be on hold another eight minutes to which the lady replied, "no, probably longer." This is a public service announcement for any and all who are considering a Lover's Pizza and Pasta meal: The pastas all include a side salad, and if you order something that doesn't come with (i.e. pizza, sandwich, dessert) you should definitely order at least a dinner salad (only $4.25). "Why would I want salad with my cannoli?" you might ask. The answer lies in the LP&P House Italian dressing. It is an amazing tomato-ey vinaigrette. I'm not even a salad dressing fan...at least I wasn't before this. If you order larger, like the Lover's Salad (with roasted red peppers, green and black olives, salami, pepperoni, cheese...$8.50) it comes with TWO sides of vinaigrette. One is typically enough by my standards, so I save the second to "dress" up the next sad salad I make at home. With the ISDA (important salad dressing advisory) out of the way, please step into the Calzone zone. I LOVERS these ricotta-filled pizza pockets, and the one I ordered last night made a hearty dinner, breakfast AND lunch for one for under $10! It comes with ricotta, mozzarella, parmesan + one pizza topping of your choice and a side of pizza sauce. Their stromboli is the meaty equivalent with beef, sausage, pepperoni and mozzarella, also only $9. The pastas are on par with those offered by other pizzerias...satisfying, filling, but fairly unremarkable, but did I mention that they come with a dinner salad? If you are jonesing for something noodle-based, you could definitely do worse. Sometimes I have a hankering for eggplant parmesan, and Lovers' version (served with spaghetti) doesn't disappoint. My daughter is a fan of the chicken parm. So, are you curious about the pizza? Another cool thing about Lovers' is that you can order pizza by the slice...and they are sizeable slices at that! This is always a great option to accompany the salad you order because the dressing is so damn good, or if you are dining with a child (or childlike) companion who refuses to eat pizza with onions, mushrooms, olives, or anything good on it. I've only had the regular pizza, and its great. They have a thick crust pizza that I really want to try, but the only size is 12" x 16". While I can eat a calzone for three meals in a row, I'll wait for a bigger group to order this pie. read more

For the past 20 years I've ordered pizza from the Lover's Pizza Mockingbird location and was always satisfied with the quality of the food. However, the last two times I ordered a pizza, once last Dec 2025 and just recently Jan 2026, the pizza was over cooked and the edges burned. In addition the pie was partially sliced and placed in the box in a way where the slices were jammed into each other. It looked like a angry worker took his aggression out on it. I guess all good things eventually come to an end and perhaps it's time to check out other pizza restaurants. I'm disappointed to the point where it's not worth giving this store another chance. read more

It has been a few years since I've been to this location, the Lover's on Garland Rd is now closer. The place has not changed at all since my last visit. The slices are still large, and have gone up a bit in price. I used to get two slices for about $5 and now it is $7. I may be not correct but I thought the sausage was crumbles but now they are like pellets. I prefer the crumbles. The crust was not as crisp or as thin as I remember. But I was stuffed after two slices. They still bring your slices to you, so service has not changed. The ambience is still similar to what you would find in a suburb of New York or New Jersey. "I can't believe we don't eat here more often." - my family Well, we definitely will start eating here a lot more! My family just ordered pickup from Lover's Pizza & Pasta for the first time in a long time. The restaurant uses authentic Italian recipes and fresh ingredients to make everything taste delicious and flavorful! We never dine in because we find their location convenient for delivery or pickup but, the restaurant is charming/cozy and the staff is friendly. FYI: it's BYOB. They serve large portion sizes so you'll have plenty of leftovers. Their pastas come with salad and bread. The calamari, fried to perfection, comes with two types of sauces. The pizzas come in four different sizes, starting at 12 inches, and they offer three varieties- thin, thick, and gourmet (we ordered thin, including one "build your own" pizza). Plus, you can order by the slice. Overall, they offer a little bit of everything to meet any family member's expectations when ordering Italian food. This is my second review for Lover's on Mockingbird. My first one must have been well over a couple of years ago. In times of covid, there are few go to spots that have made it in our rotation. I am glad to say that Lover's Pizza and Pasta on Mockingbird is one of them. We frequently get takeout and they have just the right protocols in place to make you feel at home but still understood that there is a pandemic going on. We have done curbside and I have ventured in a couple of times to pick up as well. Their service is outstanding. We have never had an issue with order accuracy or timing. Everything is punctual and the food is always delicious. In terms of specifics, I highly recommend their lobster ravioli, chicken marsala, their wings, and of course their pizza! The pizza is true NYC style pizza and even the dough has that amazing crunchy but soft texture in every bite. The lobster ravioli has delicious chunks of lobster and the creamy sauce is to die for. Side note - I also love the dinner rolls they serve with their entrees. For some reason, I could eat dozens of these! The wings are great too. They are fried, but hey - you ordered chicken wings! I do like that they put the sauce on the side so you can dip in the sauce along with some ranch/blue cheese OR you can toss them yourself. The chicken marsala is good too and they serve it with some nice pasta. All in all, I highly recommend Lover's - especially their takeout! They also have free delivery but do know that they can get busy so sometimes it is worth to just make the trip. read more

I may be the only Yelper like this, but there are times I realized there is a place near me that I've never been to and see it more than once a day. This is one of those places! Now, I've been here three times and feel qualified to write a review! My last trip was for a quick pizza and salad. The parking lot is large and it is easy to see it from Mockingbird. Inside, there are mostly booths with a few tables in the middle. The décor is warm and inviting. During my trips, it is not crowded, but don't think it isn't busy! Lot's of call in and walk ups for take out orders! The menu is huge with lots of variety of American-Italian dishes, pizzas and calzones. This last trip, I asked the counter staff what is their favorite pizza and all said pepperoni, so we ordered one plus a couple of salads. The salads were more than enough and although nothing special, they were quite good with fresh Romaine. The pizza was ready pretty quickly. It may not be the healthiest or ever make it a TV food show, but it was very tasty with a great cheesy, tomato sauce sweet/salty flavor! I now understand all of the call ins and take outs for pizza! Amazing food, service and ambiance. We were greeted as we walked in, you order and pay at the register and the staff will serve you at your table. Sit where you like. The tables were very clean and you are provided with Parmesan, red pepper flakes and herbs at the table. I ordered spaghetti with meatballs and meat sauce and it was great! We did a pick up order for an 18" cheese pizza with Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, and pepperoni, and we also ordered the fried cheese ravioli. When I went in to pick up the order, the atmosphere in this was refreshing and cozy. The lady at the front was very friendly and the service was prompt. The food was absolutely delicious. Needed some phenomenal pizza & pasta To-Go for "The Last Supper" since I'm starting The Keto Diet tomorrow, and Lover's was definitely above average. ~ Ordered: * 12" Cheese / Pepperoni & Hamburger pizza * Fettuccini Carbonara * side of Alfredo sauce * and an iced tea. ~ Total: $26.36 before tip. (Very reasonable price). The food was piping hot and perfectly packaged up for To-Go presentation. The portions were huge and plenty. Easily three meals for an adult. The pasta came with a side salad and two garlic knots. I'm not usually a fan of garlic knots, but these were some of the better ones that I've tasted. The house dressing is what made the salad for me. It was a unique reddish color and quite good. Iced tea tasted fresh and they do have lemon wedges, which was a nice touch. The Fettuccini Carbonara was excellent for the price and extremely filling. Very flavorful and topped with fresh parsley. I do NOT regret the Carbohydrates. AT ALL. Pizza was very good. It wasn't dry and had plenty of toppings. 12" was the perfect size for a carb-hungry girl around that time of el mes. The crust was New York style thin, but fluffy and fresh. A+! Alfredo sauce was above average, but not up there with the best like Kenny's Italian Kitchen. The viscosity was very good though and free of any unwanted chunkiness or separation. You can't go wrong for the price. The restaurant staff wasn't overly welcoming and may even be considered borderline rude by some paying customers, but I didn't mind. I was there for FOOD, not smiles. I always tip, even for To-Go orders. If you're a cheap bastard though, you might be a little peaved with the level of customer service or lack thereof. I would definitely recommend this little spot if you have a hankering for some good Italian comfort food at a very decent price. read more

I visited Lover's P&P about one week ago with my wife. I had the Spaghetti with Italian Sausage and she ordered Spaghetti Carbonara. I also had to try their "NY Style" Pizza. Disclaimer: I personally love these smaller, what I call "pizza and pasta joints.!" The reason is, the food is always hot enough to burn the roof of your mouth off and scorch your tongue and teeth to no end. The way it should be. So, the food was very very good, bordering on excellent! The only rub was that my Italian Sausage was slightly overcooked and thus a little too firm for my tastes. Flavor was excellent in all instances though! Including the pizza slice, which was very yummy. Not as big of a slice I would have liked for authentic NY Style, but good nonetheless!! Drinks tasted fresh with no "slime in the ice machine" noted. Restrooms were clean and well stocked, which is always good! If you visit Lover's P&P just remember that it's not "fine dining," it's great food at a good price that you can enjoy while relaxing in a casual, comfortable atmosphere. Eat well. Be well. All I can say is AMAZING! My friend and I heard about this little place and decided to try as we have tried all nearby Italian places including Campizis only to be disappointed. We were starving and ordered with our eyes and not our stomachs but we DO NOT regret it. We got cheessy bread, Alfredo, chicken parmigian, and a slice of pizza. The lunch entrees came with wonderful little salads and everything had amazing flavor. The marinara sauce, chicken, noodles... I could update go on and on and on but the important thing is we now have a new favorite spot! I'm 100% vegetarian and probably 95% vegan, but the quarantining got to my head and I got desperate for some cheesy Italian American food. I grew up in New Jersey, where casual store-front Italian food is like BBQ is in Texas - fantastic and ubiquitous and affordable. We tried the ricotta pizza, which was really delicious. If you want value for money and don't mind leftovers, get the extra large (18 inch): it costs more, but is significantly bigger than the others and a good value (you can do the math!) I also got a calzone with mushrooms, which was good, but not jam-packed with ricotta in the style I like from back east. And I ordered an eggplant parm dinner ($10; great value), which is what I'd definitely get again: it comes with a salad and bread, and pasta on the side (with a good marinara sauce), and is thinly sliced and breaded and fried and super greasy, and smothered in melty mozzarella. My Italian-American comfort food standards are high, and when I took my first bite I gasped with joy and proclaimed "Oh, this is CORRECT!" They're open for delivery and take-out during the coronavirus pandemic, and offer free delivery within a few mile radius. read more

Complimentary Garlic Knots: there was potential with the garlic knots, however there was too mich parmesan cheese and not enough garlic. Penne Pasta Regata: I really enjoyed the mix of flavors. The chicken was cooked well and the sauce was light in addition to the spinach, garlic and tomatos. I would recommend this to anyone! Baked Ziti: Eh... not so much. This lacked seasoning and was too sweet... which was unexpected. There needed more cheese and maybe meat. The sauce was really creamy and unexpectedly sweet. Lover's pizza is our favorite pizza delivery option in Dallas. The pizza is consistently delicious and their salads are fresh (and a great deal). The crust is nice and chewy and they are generous with the toppings. We like the vegetarian pizza or simply black olives and mushrooms. They always use fresh ingredients. We also like the dinner salads with the raspberry vinaigrette dressing. They have other salads that are also good, but the dinner salad has a good range of veggies.
