The kid and I stopped here for lunch on her last day of winter break. I see that it has been 14 years since my original review so it is time for an update. The restaurant was not very full at lunchtime so we found a table immediately (you seat yourself). A person who I assume was the manager appeared to take our drink order and since I was familiar with the menu we ordered at once. We requested a roll with balsamic vinegar for the kid and they obliged at no cost, I was not expecting that. Our food came out promptly, The kid had her usual pasta with marinara and liked it. I had two slices. They are enormous, the biggest I have seen since I lived in NYC. I had a cheese slice and a slice with sausage. Both had thin crispy crust and were flavorful. Not expensive at all. The ambience has picture/paintings of Italy on the walls. The interior is dark with wooden tables and wooden bar area. After the manager passed our table to a waitress, the service did not drop off. She was pleasant and accommodating. Overall, a very good experience at a very reasonable price. I am glad that this location on Garland Rd has been around for so long and I hope they stay for many more years. read more

I've been wanting to try this location for quite some time after having had a great experience at their now closed Casa Linda location. And this visit did not disappoint. Quite the opposite. My friend and I went on a Friday afternoon and had the lunch slice special. I had sausage and she had the ricotta pizza. We both had salad with house dressing and iced tea. Everything exceeded our expectations. My pizza had ample sausage and a very tasty sauce. While plain it was delicious. Hers was more fancy with dollops of ricotta placed about. It also had a nice, not overpowering, garlic taste. Both slices were generous and just the right size for lunch. The salads were fresh and the house dressing is recommended. Service was friendly and efficient. Our server even took time to tell us his favorites which warrant another visit. The menu is full and diverse, to my thinking. Also there are four beers on tap that I saw. Prices seem reasonable to me although I haven't dined there in the evening. The ambiance is comfortable leaning towards classy especially for what was once an Arby's. Plenty of seating and parking on site. All in all a fine meal at a very reasonable price. read more

They make a very solid NY style pizza. Nice & thin w/crispy crust I ordered (DoorDash) a 16" cheese w/sausage, pepperoni, hamburger & extra cheese cooked well done/extra crispy. The toppings are high in quality but compared to other places I found them to be a little skimpy on quantity. I wouldn't reorder a side of ranch bc it's Hidden Valley or similar store brand (def not made in house). I'll order again, next time I'll try their pasta and/or sandwiches. read more

I was placed on hold for about 3 minutes when I called to place my order, which honestly wasn't a big deal. I placed the order and wasn't given a pickup time, so I assumed 10-15 minutes would be reasonable. When I arrived, the customer service was extremely disappointing. The man at the front barely spoke, acted uninterested, and practically tossed my food onto the counter. On top of that, the prices in the restaurant were different from what was listed elsewhere. Overall, the experience felt rude and unprofessional, and I definitely expected better customer service. Please go to the other location if you want better customer service. read more

We like Lovers. Wife was wanting Italian food so this is one of our go to places. The service is alway very good and friendly folks. The Restaurant looks very clean and updated and could easily be and upscale place that is hidden for you to enjoy. I got Spaghetti and meatballs and garlic bread!! Absolutely amazing pizza! Every time I go to Dallas I always make a stop at Lovers The service is super fast and everyone is very friendly who works up there. I haven't eaten in yet because I always pick it up to go, but the inside has a nice/cozy lunch/dinner date vibe! Love their pizza! We decided to branch out and try something new in the neighborhood. Enjoyed their veggie thin crust pizza and it was delivered quickly. Tons of black olives, green peppers and tomatoes with the perfect ratio of cheese to sauce and yummy crust. Also, we noticed not any added grease which is a huge plus and all fresh ingredients. The crust was thin but not too thin. The large size was more than enough for two and we enjoyed leftovers for lunch today. This was our second time coming here and it was even better than the first ! We got the lasagna and penne rigatea with grilled chicken , the food was delicious and portions were big enough for leftovers the next day! The meal comes with a big salad and they have a homemade Italian dressing that has tomatoes or marinara sauce in it and I loved it I've never had anything like it, the entrees also came with bread of course! We ended the meal with a slice of tiramisu and it was also delicious! Was in the mood for pizza and decided to give this pizza place a try. Bottom line - pizza is a 5.2 (Barstool pizza rating scale). The restaurant shares a building with a burger/bar place. The inside has a bar and dining area with booths/tables. My pick-up order was ready in about 15 minutes. I ordered a medium cheese and tomato pizza (I added basil to make it Margherita style). The pizza was hot, but looked like it had a bit more dough than the Napolitana thin crust I was expecting. It was still hot by the time I got home, but tasted how it looked - more pizza dough than crisp. The first slice I picked up wasn't floppy at all and had a good firmness, but tasted like it was baked in a home oven. Cheese and tomato sauce were sub-par, nothing special. I prefer a bit more crispy crust, especially if it says it's thin crust. If you're looking for Papa John's quality pizza in a sit-down restaurant than this might be a good option. I might come back for other menu options, but not the pizza. read more

For reference, my group mate and I ordered a 14-inch veggie pizza (mushrooms, mozzarella, onions, green peppers, black olives, spinach and tomatoes) and an order of cannolis (which come in a pair). The pizza was absolutely to die for. The thin crust was baked to perfection and the veggie flavors all came through uniquely. The vegetables were not over-cooked or wilted, like you may experience on some vegetable pizzas. The cannolis, which are made in-house, were also delicious! They are fairly large in size, leaving us very full after our meal. As for the price, the quantity and quality of the product is definitely worth it. I dropped by Lovers' for lunch after doing a little shopping in the Casa Linda area. First of all, I was surprised by the set-up. I was expecting it to be more casual, like ordering your food at the counter and then just taking it to a table and eating it, but this place actually has waiters and they have cozy, homey Italian decor. I'd say it would be a cute place for a cheap date. I ordered two slices of pepperoni pizza and a drink, nothing too fancy. Surprise #2... I was surprised by how big their slices were! Think NY-style slices. Big and thin. I loved the crust because thin crust is my favorite and theirs has a nice crisp at the bottom. The toppings though... I felt like the flavors of all the ingredients (the sauce, the cheese, and the pepperoni) kinda blended together, BUT something that stood out to me about this pizzeria is they had shakers of oregano in addition to the typical parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes. My pizza tasted much better after sprinkling some oregano on it. Still, I'd say Lovers pizza is like mall pizza.
