I have driven past this diner hundreds of times, and it is always busy, but I have never tried it. We went on Sunday for a late lunch, and it was busy, but we were seated immediately. The menu is extensive, but I chose my usual diner fare-chicken fried steak. It was very good. My husband and son also enjoyed their meals. Serving sizes were plentiful and service was friendly. I'd give a zero if I could. I ordered the roast beef dinner. When it came out, I swear it was cooked yesterday and sat under a light all day today. The gravy had 1/2 inch of film on it. All that was inedible. Mash potato's had the same dried film gravy. Green beans were average at best. The yeast roll was the only thing that I enjoyed. Took the drive over to Nicoma Park to get some breakfast at a new spot to us. We are leery at times trying new places as we've been disappointed on more than one occasion. The restaurant is clean and the wait staff is very friendly. Many options for breakfast. We settled on the pick 2 for terry and I got the bacon and cheese omelette. Terry's meal had 4 sausage links, two over medium eggs and a ginormous waffle. Mine came with hash browns and a biscuit and gravy. The meal was great. It was be far one of the better places foodwise. I liked the place until it was time to check out and they overcharged me and another person. I ordered a meal that was $9.38 on my ticket, they rang up $10.79 on the register and then I was charged $11.11. The person before me, their order was $39 and some change (we added her ticket up ourselves) and she was charged $47.11. When you go to check to out they take your ticket and don't give it back (purposely I'm assuming). We confronted them and they proceeded to read off the items on the ticket but not the prices and wouldn't recalculate what was on the original ticket but only showing what was rang up on the register. They're over charging by telling you the price is one thing then ringing it up as another on their register. Before we left she asked me if I wanted a receipt and I said yes and she proceeded to hand me the merchant receipt and tell me to sign it without giving me my actual receipt. Very disappointing, I wanted to come back but it's not worth being overcharged and then the servers trying to loudly accuse you of being wrong when you confront them. We did the math ourselves multiple times but for some reason on their register it's $8 more than what was written on the ticket. Then for them to overcharge me after we had just confronted them for overcharging another... not a good look for that business. I wonder if the owner realizes what their servers are doing? I don't know if they overcharged us because we're not from around there or what but definitely won't be going back. read more

This is a great example of Americana. I was visiting my in-laws in Oklahoma they took me to the Dixie Diner. Even though it was really busy, the staff made sure we were taken care of from the moment we walked in the door. I asked about one of the menu items and my server have her honest opinion- always appreciated. I ordered the chili with onions and was happy with my selection. We woke up in the mood for a casual, filling, diner-style late breakfast close to home and this was perfect. I ordered a "chicken fajita omelet" which immediately became my new favorite food. Huge! And truly stuffed with chicken breast meat and grilled veggies and cheese. So good. The sides I chose were a biscuit with gravy (tasty but I donated to my husband) and grits. The grits were probably instant, but with a little butter and a thick crust of salt and pepper they were good. To be fair I compare all grits to what you eat in the French Quarter, haha. Not a fair contest. I'm also a serious coffee perfectionist, so their below average coffee will not be counted against the overall really nice diner experience. My cup stayed full, though, and the service was friendly and quick. We didn't order any sweets at breakfast but saw a fresh, double-crust blueberry pie coming out the kitchen, and already on display was an assortment of gorgeous cakes and cinnamon rolls, all made in house. So we really liked our breakfast stop here. When we walked in there was at least one big table of local folk, farmers and ranchers, which is usually a good indication that we entered a good diner. Laborday with family 10am place was very busy and short staffed. You can see into the kitchen when the cooks bring the food up and ring the bell. Looks like a sleepover at jessy pinkmans.
