I've eaten at a lot of restaurants in my life, but nothing compares to the experience we had. Yes, the food was phenomenal. Yes, the ambiance was perfect. But let's be honest: this place runs on one thing and one thing only, Josh. From the moment we sat down, Josh didn't just "serve" our table. He orchestrated it. The man moves like a hospitality ninja. Water glasses never dropped below the halfway mark. Empty plates disappeared as if teleported. He anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them. At one point, I casually considered ordering another drink, and somehow Josh was already walking toward the table with it. Telepathy? Probably. When we asked for recommendations, he didn't just list menu items, he delivered a passionate, Oscar-worthy monologue about flavor profiles, textures, and life-changing sauces. We ordered exactly what he suggested, and I'm convinced my taste buds ascended to a higher plane. If Josh told me to try something I've sworn I'd never eat, I'd trust him without hesitation. The food itself? Incredible. Perfectly cooked, beautifully plated, and clearly crafted with care. But somehow it all tasted better because Josh brought it to the table. I'm not saying he seasoned it personally... but I'm also not ruling it out. He handled a packed dining room with the calm confidence of someone who was born for this. Other servers were great but it was hard to notice anyone else while witnessing Josh in his element. It felt less like dinner and more like watching a masterclass in hospitality. By the end of the night, we weren't just satisfied customers, we were Josh fans. If this restaurant has any sense, they'll put his face on the menu, the sign, maybe even the building. We stopped here because it was close to the fields we were playing a soccer tournament at. Best decision we made! For one, I like diner food. But more importantly and what did it for me was the service! It's family owned and that is always a HUGE bonus for me as well. We were looking for something quick in between games and the provided very quick service with excellent food portions for the money. Everyone made sure we were taken care of. While our server was getting our drinks someone else stopped by concerned because we didn't have drinks. Things I loved about this place? Service and food! The coffee was exactly what you hope for in a diner - warm, delicious and quick to be refilled. We both ordered some non-traditional breakfast items which could've honestly gone either way for our opinion of the restaurant. Fortunately, both items were delicious. Here are some things to keep in mind when ordering either of them though: Monte Cristo - if you've had one of those sandwiches from Bennigan's, this one is more like a deconstructed open-face non-fried version without the raspberry jam or powdered sugar and comes with no sides. Still very tasty and plentiful, but definitely different. The bread under the meaty cheesy pile is their delicious French Toast...so you do get a good hint of sweetness. I tried a couple of top-to-bottom bites with a splash of maple syrup and it was pretty good. Give it a try. I was a little surprised that it was JUST the sandwich at that price when so many other similarly-priced items come with home fries, at least. It still filled me up. The Corned Beef Omelette was the type of omelette where all of the ingredients are mixed together and cooked in a single layer and then folded over (Shush! I'm sure there's a term for that but if I don't know it, most of you won't either!). The omelette does not come with cheese unless you add it (Swiss seems like it would be a good choice) and the corned beef is sliced, not chunked. Still very tasty overall. We asked for the Home Fries (came with the omelette) extra crispy and they definitely were that. Since "home fries" means something different nearly everywhere it seems, I'll describe these starchy soldiers for ya. My Southern family would refer to these as "Fried Potatoes" which really just means that they are quartered and sliced potatoes fried in some cooking oil and dashed with some seasoning. I believe these were deep-fried (one of their options), but they probably skillet fry or griddle fry them if you don't ask them to do anything different. I didn't order "Home Fries 4-Ways" so I can't say anything more (no, that's not on the menu btw). Our waitress was super friendly and quick. The interior is about what you expect from a diner. There is plenty of parking (at least on the weekend since they share the lot). We'll definitely head back and try out some other items on the menu next visit. read more

Yummy!!!! My husband comes here often after a round of golf and wanted me to try this place. What a gem - the breakfast was outstanding. They KNOW how to properly prepare corned beef hash which is important to those of us who love it. The eggs and home-style potatoes were excellent. Everything was served hot. Ordered takeout - This is an unassuming little diner and the only place within a 10 mile radius of my work and I am so glad it is. I got the turkey club sandwich ($8.95) and it was the club sandwich of my dreams. Super tall, lots of crispy bacon, perfectly toasted rye bread, and a thick layer of fresh sliced turkey breast. Causeway Diner is your standard diner, basic dishes that are favorites of most people cooked just the way you like it. Staff was friendly and attentive without being too much! The biggest issue with this diner is its feeling of uncleanliness, I think it could stand for a deep cleaning followed by fresh paint and some minor repairs ( bathroom door lock didn't work). I would return but probably wouldn't make it a regular on my list. read more

I recently ate here with my wife. I'm local, I eat out fairly regularly, and I appreciate decent food. This place left me REALLY scratching my head, I ordered a Rueben with "pastrami" that smelled like death on a plate. My wife ordered a fish sandwich which came the same texture/consistency as a hockey puck. I didn't attempt to eat mine, as you could see the pain in the waitresses eyes whom placed it in front of me, almost ashamed of how the food looked/smelled. My wife got through about 1/4 of hers, as the fish was cooked sooooo much she could Pass her fork through the rest of it. The waitress, very well Knew how displeased we were with our food, as she handed me a $44 dollar bill. This is place horrible, not sure how/why they remain open serving slop like that. The closest breakfast place to Kennedy Space Center and with the 15 minutes out of the way to get some good food before KSC. Their omelettes are really good and I recommend their Athenian omelette or Pastrami omelette. The potatoes that come with both are solid. Service was great. I stopped in for breakfast and the waiter told me they had a 2-2-2 special. 2 eggs, 2 bacon or sausage and 2 French toast or pancakes for $7.85. So I went with two sunny-side eggs, two strips of bacon and two french toast with coffee. Everything was eggsellent! Especially the French toast which was the best French toast I have ever had. We've been coming here for years. Great family that owns it, with a long term staff that feels like family! Food is consistently good, they have breakfast all day . The deserts are unbelievably good. Enough variation in the menu, quality in the ingredients, and extra specials make it easy to dine here multiple times a week. The owner, Delores, has great integrity. I witnessed her be willing to lose long term customers rather than allow them to keep their dogs in direct sunlight, in a non-running car. She offered to allow them to park directly in the back, if they'd roll down the windows enough to allow a good breeze; and she offered to watch the dogs through the door for them. They left, angry, because they didn't want to do that and she wouldn't allow them to leave the animals in harms way. Another customer had brought situation about the dogs to her, she checked to ensure the car wasn't running or the dogs had adequate airflow and shade. When she realized they didn't, she knew she had to handle it. She probably helped the customer that left avoid broken windows due to people witnessing the dogs in that heat. She cares about her staff, her customers, and innocent animals! read more

However, most of the menu is super unhealthy! Even their big iceberg lettuce salad with lunchmeat is, well, loaded with super unhealthy lunchmeat and cheese. They offer typical fried diner fare that is deep fried, covered in fatty sauces, and loaded with fat and calories!!!! They offer super bland canned green beans or corn for a side. Some of their food is tasty, but so fattening and unhealthy for your cardiovascular health!!! A couple times, I decided to splurge on dessert, and their cakes are dry and flavorless! They taste like a cake mix cake that has been over baked! So, why not offer a delicious Cobb salad made with grilled shrimp, Romaine lettuce, or crispy mixed greens with avocado, and delicious veggies like cherry tomatoes, hard boiled egg, black olives, slender slices of cucumber, a smidgen of shredded cheese and a touch of real bacon, and offer low calorie dressings? How about offering some gently grilled haddock, or other healthy dishes that don't raise your cholesterol? A restaurant that cares about the health of its customers would be a breath of fresh air, and for the occasional splurge, how about a little cupcake that is moist and flavorful? The cupcake bakery down by Rich Island knocks it out of the park!!! Why not buy cupcakes from them? Then, we could have a little sweet treat, once in a while, without going overboard!
