    Chicken sandwich
    Candace R.

When I tell yall I had the BEST chicken sandwich from here...im so serious! The bun is soft, the chicken is juicy and flavorful, and all the toppings that come in it pair together so well. Amazing chicken sandwich. I was able to come in and place my order immediately. Two of my friends ordered fish sandwiches and they loved them as well. The man at the register was really kind. I took off a start only because it was super hot inside the establishment. The dining area is pretty large and there's plenty of open space. It's just hot in there. The parking lot also fills up pretty quick and it's kinda small but there's street parking on the side.

Expense a$$ Cole slaw..ordered via door dash has weird after taste $almost $5 not worth it

Order via DD. I would not order Cole slaw has odd aftertaste Fish was good although I perfer mine to have more seasoning. Fries were soggy and bread was stale

After placing my order on DoorDash I waited about an hour for the order to arrive, per the expected wait time. I wanted to try a few things and save some for later. I ordered the red snapper with fries. The red snapper is slightly cornmeal battered, but barely. I saw it on some pieces of fish and even then it was only in one area or so. Thank goodness I really like fish because it was tolerable, but there really isn't any flavor to it. It was dry too. Same with the fries - it lacked salt and ketchup also wasn't included in the bag. Throughout eating I kept wondering why there wasn't any tartar sauce. The hot sauce added some flavor to the fish though, I will say that. Tartar sauce should always be included. The hush puppies are hush puppies. Good. It's also the only thing I finished. I wish they came with a sauce even if only tartar sauce. The macaroni and cheese isn't classic, but it was okay. I'd still consider it Mac n cheese , but I do prefer down south baked macaroni and cheese with those crispy corners of cheese where the macaroni is a little browned on top in certain areas. Candied yams. yum! I'm happy to have that for later. I was ready for that banana pudding I ordered, too! I received yellow chocolate cake. It was Duncan Hines good, but not what I ordered.

Was looking for a spot to grab some lunch & pulled up to Dixon's. There's quite a bit to choose from on the menu, seafood, chicken & bbq. The bbq smelled good but I didn't have a taste for it so I went w/the fried seafood. Oysters 4outta5 perfectly cooked Shrimp 3outta5 could of used a touch more breading Snapper 3outta5 good cook, no flavor Hushpuppies 5outta5! Crispy outside moist inside I can only imagine how much more delicious the food could be w/a lil mo seasoning. Service 5outta5 Ambiance 2outta5 (the area's a lil sketchy) I was satisfied & might patronize them again & try the bbq. We'll see...

Came to Dixons as a second choice it was ok the place is pretty run down in a sketchy part of the neighborhood !! But i grew up in a hood!!! lol so I didn't feel outta place but if you didn't you may not wanna come here, the food was ok the wings were crispy and cooked through, the catfish was crispy as well but could have used more seasoning the fries were the best thing to eat they had seasoned salt and were tasty the portions were ok seen a lot of people actually in this place, the wait wasn't too long the girl at the register was kind it wasn't a bad spot but have had better.

Food good, prices good, but they don't enforce wear a mask. Sign on door but not enforced. Might not go back not feeling safe.

HUGE Disappointment…read more.. We drove from Brentwood to Oakland to go to Raising Cane. We definitely expected a long wait in the line to place our order but we certainly didn't expect to have to wait 25 minutes when they told me to pull over to the side and that they would bring my order out to me. Meanwhile several cars are going by getting their orders and leaving..I had to go knock on the glass door for somebody to come to me and ask where is my order and the person who answered the door said let me go get a manager for you, but before that happened the manager spoke on an intercom that I can hear outside in a very very rude tone and said "we're waiting on your extra crispy chicken" but it was the way she said it over the intercom instead of coming to the door to talk to me. Not only that, but when we got the food it wasn't even crispy it was like KFC original recipe texture and it was cold!!! I asked for my bread to be grilled on both sides It wasn't... so either they got mad that I was knocking on the door and gave me some crappy food or this is just how the service is here on a regular. The customer service there was absolutely horrible and it wasn't worth that long drive because our food was not that great. It is as cold AND My order was incorrect. I would highly recommend you think twice before you drive out here. And for the record this is Saturday it was at 1:00 and it was the manager on duty that got on the intercom to speak to me rudely.

The staff was cordial and friendly, and the chicken-themed decor, charming. Now it IS a chicken joint, the go-to chicken spot for my full carnivore friend. He loves them for their chicken, their inexpensive menu and their large portions. I'm mostly pescatarian, though I do sometimes cheat with bacon. (I always feel SO guilty afterwards too!) I ordered the honey mustard salad with bacon and no chicken. My friend ordered the chicken Mac n cheese and tater tots. The bill came up to $30, and the portions were good on on the salad, GREAT on the tater tots and decent on the chicken mac. I can't speak personally on the chicken but my friend says it's amazing. I tasted some of his Mac n cheese with no chicken, and it was really good and flavorful, nice and cheesy. I tasted his tater tots. They were plentiful, well-seasoned and fried to golden perfection, with a nice crunch. I ate all of my salad. My friend couldn't finish his chicken Mac or his tater tots and was happy to be able to take them to go for another meal. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this place.

I have been coming here over the years and never had any issues…read more However tonight the following happened: The friendly staff took our order : two sandwiches and an order of fries. About 10 minutes later the server brought what looked like our food to the only other table at the restaurant. The pair sitting there brought it back to the server as it wasn't what they ordered. Our server apologetically just handed us the food that another pair had inspected and returned (they said they didn't touch it). No napkins, fries, or ketchup for the fries. I went to the counter and asked for napkins and fries and politely asked about our fries. They apologized and said it would come right out. My sandwich bread turned out to be fairly burned, and it tasted burned. Towards the end of finishing our sandwiches (about 20 minutes after I ordered and 10 minutes after I asked about the fries), I asked if my fries could be to-go. The friendly server was again apologetic and said they would check on it. A minute later they came out with a box of fries and apologized they they had been forgotten about in the kitchen. They were no longer hot. I was disappointed with my most recent trip.

I knew it was gonna be fire when I smelled it being cooked, but when Jamea said try this before you go, it was confirmed. You don't ask people to try your food in front of you if it ain't fire lol. 10/10 flavor wise on both plates. Noodle portions are large enough to share but you're going to want to eat the wings alone; they're so good you won't want to share, so get plenty. All orders are to go, but you might just want to eat it in the car it's so good. And expect to wait the time you would for a one woman show holding it down (POP). It's in the deep East, and that is what it is, nothing more, nothing less. ESO ambiance - check. All I can say is you definitely want to try Try Dat. Located (usually) on the corner of Seminary & Mac Arthur in front of the Valero, you might just pass by this unassuming (but beautifully colored & vibey) food truck without thinking twice, and you'd be missing a true gem. The menu has a surprising, but not at all overwhelming, selection for being in a food truck, and Miss Jamea (The Boss with the Sauce) does not play at all with these flavors. Follow @try_thisbaby on IG for location or call to double-check before coming.

Plus, the staff was friendly and quick, even with a line of people waiting.
