Cute interior. Lots of parking out front. I ordered the strawberry smoothie with crystal boba. With smoothies, you can't adjust sweetness. So, the drink was very sweet. Overall just okay. Would probably not come back.

Spam musubi and mango matcha without boba
    Deanna H.

I stopped here to get a mango matcha with no boba (low sweetness level) and it was great! We also grabbed the musubi and omgggg it was so yummy we almost bought a second. Cute little spot with board games to play which is fun. The service was very quick which I loved!

    Yakult Green Milk Tea

Tried the Yakult Green Milk Tea at DIY Tea Lab and honestly it was surprisingly addictive. The yakult gives it this smooth tangy flavor that blends really well with the creamy milk tea instead of overpowering it. Super refreshing, slightly sweet, and lighter than most milk teas I've had. The green tea flavor still comes through nicely too. Definitely one of those drinks that sounds weird at first but somehow works perfectly. Would order again.

I tried the mango green tea and the tea was great but a bit on the sweeter side even after adjusting the sweetness to 50%. The service was great and the server helped me with suggestion of the flavor with mango and the suggestion was passion fruit was great. It is a cute little place around the corner. I would definitely recommend trying this place out once.

Harmony's Lava Lamp and White Peach Oolong Fresh Milk Tea
    Brigid C.

I got the Harmony's Lava Lamp and the White Peach Oolong Milk Tea. I asked for 50% sugar in the Lava Lamp, and I think it was still too sweet T_T the White Peach Oolong Milk Tea was PERFECT. The boba is the right texture of firm and soft (i believe the Taiwanese call this QQ but i don't feel confident saying that myself, since I'm not Taiwanese), and it perfectly soaked up the honey sweetness. The cup is a sturdy kind of plastic. There's quality everywhere even in the smallest parts of the product and the space, and it's fun with all the fun names of the drinks. I like this place and will definitely order more :)

I tried DIY tea lab today for the first on their regrand opening day. All the workers were nice, patient, and accommodating. Lots of seating and cute decor. Parking was easy as well. I'm happy to have a bubble tea place nearby. The one thing I notice was even half sweet, the drink tasted like it was 100% sugar.

There are some amazing milk tea places in Seattle, and DIY Tea Lab is on par with them. Nothing special jumped out at me about the drinks, but they were solid. I got one milk tea, the Thai tea, and one fruit smoothie, the lychee smoothie. One thing I appreciated was that the sweetness level was adjustable. It was also not too strong - at some tea places, even 25% sweetness is an overwhelming amount of sugar, but that was not at all the case here. The staff were very friendly, and I got my drinks within about five minutes of ordering. This location also offers a free drink if you leave an online review - a great deal that you should definitely take advantage of!

Just visited today to try their drinks and I'm surprised by some of the other reviews! Service was super friendly and the peach oolong milk tea I got was really good! At 50% sweet and light ice, I really thought it was a nice twist on standard black milk tea, which is my usual drink of choice. That's saying a lot because I'm pretty picky about my milk teas and I don't like drinks that taste artificial or too floral. So this was a great base milk tea with that hint of peach. Try it with honey pearls and it's ! I will be back, so see you soon DIY!

The quality of tea has been definitely improved a lot after the new management. We tried it several times and highly recommend the classic milk tea, life is peachy and strawberry lychee lemonade

I love boba and have been to many boba places. I can't say that I've been to one where the lone employee could care less about how your drink is made. I can see why this place needs to constantly offer a Groupon. I would never come back again and tell others to avoid this place. It was terrible. Base drink is $5.50 plus toppings. Drinks were meh. We both asked for less ice and the guy filled the cup to the top with ice. Not even kidding. What the heck. Tea flavor was so weak. I could see him adding different amounts of sweetener despite us both asking for 25 percent sweetness so one of them was way sweeter. Can they at least pretend to measure? The ube sea salt foam just sits on top and doesn't mix in well into the drink. Given how slow business is, I wonder about how fresh everything is...ie how old is this dairy foam. Can I get a refund? I can see why this location has such a bad rating.

Organic Strawberry Matcha Fresh Milk with Crystal Boba
    Christopher V.

DIY's boba is chewy but doesn't have the sweetness to it like HappyLemon or ShareTea, so I order drinks with the crystal boba instead. The crystal boba also doesn't taste bland if you don't finish your drink and store it in the fridge overnight. I always order online so that I can just pick up my drinks right when I arrive. If you order inside the wait can be ~5 minutes or longer if there are other orders assured of yours. 4 outta 5, because they should consider a name change since it's not "DIY."

Sam's Strawberry Milk (left is how the restaurant advertises it, right is what I received)

Overpriced, sugary drinks. This place is awful and truly feels like I could DIY my drink (and come up with an equally bad result). I ordered the strawberry fresh milk and it turned out nothing like the picture and was basically a $5 cup of milk. Also, I placed an order around 7 and was told that they had run out of boba by then. How can a boba tea place run out of boba?? Save your money, go elsewhere.

There is a lot to improve. 1. There is 2 ways to make an order (physically). Use terminal or order from girl behind it. But there is just 1 queue. It could be optimized by separating queue to the girl and queue to the terminal. 2. Use English as a main language. All drinks have hieroglyphs as names with big font and names in English with small font. So you can read only once you approach the terminal. 3. There are 4 people who work on getting the drink done. They are fast, but it looks like they are interfere with each other. Drink is 5 stars, while service should be improved. Hope next time I return, it would be better!

Service is friendly taking my order (first time) but also can be distracted-hectic (second time). The interior is basic. I didn't stay. Both visits were to-go. Be aware that parts of this Juanita area, including the streets, are part of the development and is NOT regular city-parking. They are notorious for ferocious private parking meter-readers (not part of the city). Be sure to read the sign before leaving the vehicle. The Drinks and Food: Chocolate Oolong Milk Tea, $6.75(L) - 3.5 Stars The cashier said this is their most popular drinks. It still tasted quite sweet at 30% sweetness. Hubby said it tastes more like a chocolate milk. Ding it, he's right. (See what I did there.) Egg Coffee, $6.25 - 4 Stars Egg coffee is a northern Vietnamese specialty. Being in a paper cup takes away some of the charm, but such as is the U.S. lifestyle. It tasted as expected, a stronger, more roasted Viet coffee flavor. Mango Ice Tea, $6.75 - 3.5 Stars This is more of a mango drink with some tea taste - very fruity tea. Pandan Bubble Waffle, $7 - 4 Stars I came the second time mostly for this waffle. Served with whip cream and toasted coconut flake, the cashier looked at me like I grew an extra eye when I said whip cream only, no coconut. She literally didn't know how to respond to me. I am guessing they pre-pack the cream with the coconut already in it, and she didn't have time to pack another one. She handed us the bag with what we didn't want and left. I should lower the rating more, but I do like this waffle.

Great staff, drinks and now Banh Mi!…read more I Love this place albeit small and limited seating inside. As a Senior Citizen I was there with two other Vietnamese people (or Asians) An Asian male and female were sitting down on a better seating area. While there were other cushion/seats there. It would have been nice if one of the two people sitting down could have offered me a better place to sit. I don't expect them to be a mind reader or anything but it would have been nice to seem be more aware. Even when after I had seen the one young Asian woman go behind the counter where the order taker waswhichmade me assume I may be wrong. Next time I'll use my camera to give evidence to this sad event. I would give more scars because service was excellent. Look like this place has a new name too!

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #116…read more I haven't visited Molly Tea since the Grand Opening, but I saw the boba shop recently added brown sugar boba as a topping and I had to give it a revisit. Not to mention that I also wanted to do a direct comparison between the Premium Jasmine here and at UG tea. The result? Molly comes out on top by a large margin, although UG is much cheaper. Molly gives a smaller portion size (16oz vs large 22oz) and yet costs more then UG. Premium Jasmine Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($7.98) - The milk tea is thick, luscious almost like cream with fragrant, rounded flowery notes. The jasmine flavor is deep, filling the olfactory glands and taste buds with a rich fragrance, which finishes into a nutty and earthy barley-like essence. In comparison, UG Tea offers a thinner drink that offers a good but flatter jasmine flavor, then laces it with a somewhat overbrewed tannic tea quality. Still good in comparison with most boba shops, but noticeably worse than Molly. Unfortunately the boba isn't great - I can see why they didn't have it as an option before. While very sweet and minerally from the brown sugar soak, the texture is a too soft. Decent bounce, but the boba compresses too easily on the tongue. The pearls are also not uniform spheres, instead having rough crags all along the exterior. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 I'm still leaving Molly as a 5*, but if this had been my first experience I probably would have set it as 4* given the subpar boba quality. They still have top tier milk tea though! One last thing - this place is still really busy. I expected things to die down since it's been open for a year now. Nope, on my Sunday afternoon visit, it still took over 20 minutes between the line and waiting for my drink.

But coming back now and getting the guava grape and a pistachio cloud jasmine tea I was much more impressed. Both very good though not in my top tier echelon of tea shop quality. The shop is EXTREMELY small in a width kind of way with zero seating or even countertops to lean against really. The door is also where the line starts so it can awkward if even 1 person is inside waiting in line as it can block the entrance. Also the wait here also always seems quite long as I think they get a LOT of mobile orders so even if you see the shop empty take a look at the # of orders they're working on on the TV if you want to see how crowded they are. They are very professional though and will tell you how long the wait is if it's long, I usually wait 15-20 min each time I order here. I think they blew up in China as a luxury brand, people who even hire others to wait in the long lines in China for them to get the tea! I think they are about using high quality tea in freshly made drinks as kind of their tagline. Definitely worth a try especially for the seasonal fruit drinks I'd say.

This one is a bit off for me compared to the others in the Bay and NYC, but its great to see that its expanding. I love their expanded menu of drinks that appeals to a larger number of flavors. Coconut Mango Boom - I'm not sure what's wrong with this version but something is off balance from the usual. I think the ratio of mango smoothie was not enough so it was starting to taste like a bowl of sago in coconut milk. This drink is only delightful when that perfect balance is maintained.
