I actually found Don't Yell At Me while walking past Solidcore. It is a little tucked away near the parking garage, so it can be easy to miss if you are not looking for it, but it is definitely worth finding. Parking is available in the surrounding parking lots as well as on the street. It can get a little busy during peak hours, but if you visit on a weekday, finding a spot is usually not too difficult. The cafe is super spacious, and I really loved the cozy atmosphere. They have plenty of seating with comfortable couches and tables, making it a great place to catch up with a friend, study, or just relax with a drink. I ordered the mango smoothie, which is one of their most popular drinks, and it was absolutely delicious. I loved that they added real mango pieces throughout the drink, which gave it great texture and made it taste even fresher. It was around $8 to $9, which is a little pricey, but I thought it was worth it. It was refreshing, not overly sweet, and really hit the spot. The staff were also incredibly friendly, and the service was quick and welcoming. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely come back. A quick update to my original review. Two updates: 1. The Rose Milk Tea is on hiatus. Apparently, someone(s?) was sensitive to it. They are pulling it off the menu for now. Bummer for the rest of us. 2. They added four premium tea items to the menu, and one of them has become a favorite - Premium Da Hong Pao (second on their list). This STRONG, earthy, dark tea goes very well with the milk and sugar to become a rich, potent milk tea. I take it at 25% sugar. The recommended is 50% or higher. This drink can not be made into a hot tea. The staff is still friendly and easy-going. The restaurant is still holding up well, 4.5 years since my original review. read more

Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #106 This location, along with Bellevue, has additional premium teas that the U District and the late Capitol Hill locations don't offer. I'm not sure what's up with DYAM. My last 4 visits they didn't have lactose free milk. They don't add too much milk to their drinks but it's still a roll of the dice for the lactose intolerant like me, even with lactase pills. I wonder if they are having financial difficulties and/or cash flow issues, especially since they had the $60 for $100 gift card deal late last year. It's interesting that the premium drinks are served in paper cups and with the three-coffee stirrer straw setup. I guess it's to compete against the newer mainland Chinese brands to pop up in Bellevue. Premium Da Hong Pao Oolong Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Honey Boba ($7.80) - This drink is exceptionally foamy, thick, and creamy. The tea is mixed well, balanced with the milk and sweetener perfectly. The tea is roasty and nutty, with the taste lingering in the mouth, fully covering all taste buds. Like a gentle wave, it softly flows over the tongue until the flavor slowly dissipates. Half ice for this drink is good in the winter as the drink becomes completely cooled and only has a couple of small ice chips remaining. The boba is the typical DYAM quality, being one of the better textured and sweetened boba in the Greater Seattle Area. They are somewhat inconsistent in this area, but I'd say 8 times out of 10, the boba is excellent. Milk Tea Rating: 5/5 Boba Rating: 5/5 Premium Phoenix Oolong Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Honey Boba ($7.80) - This tea is a totally different experience than the da hong pao. It starts with a strong peak, a roasted grassy green kind of flavor before tapering off quickly like a sharp exponential decay. It's quite astringent and not floral or fruity at all, which makes me question the brew quality a bit. Still, it's a very pronounced flavor. Interestingly enough, this drink didn't have nearly enough ice, with all of it melting before the drink was completely cooled. I had to ask the bobarista for an extra cup of ice to titrate. So it seems they aren't that consistent at making drinks. Milk Tea Rating: 4.5/5 Overall, this DYAM has solid drinks as is usual. I'm planning to revisit in the near future to try out the Premium Jasmine vs. the regular Jasmine milk tea. I wonder if there will be a difference in taste. I liked their tea from the Seattle location, so i decided to visit since I haven't been to the kirkland location. Parking is easy, and the mall has a decent number of stores to shop around. The price is decent, and the ambiance is also nice and clean. (Minus the music getting disconnected and became staticky time to time) However, I didn't get a good vibe from people working. Walked up to the front desk to order and the girl was on her phone, didn't even acknowledge us arriving to order. Asked her if this is where we order and she said yes. A lot of their toppings were out (rose jelly, osmanthus jelly, etc). What a catchy name for a bubble tea shop! The name definitely piqued my curiosity and I decided to stop by to check them out. The shop is bright, clean, and spacious. Apparently, the rumor is that the name of this place is due to the Taiwanese owner being pressed to be a doctor by her parents, and instead opening a boba shop, hence the "Don't yell at me" response to her parents. We were given a sample of the cheese foam and decided against it but I'm sure it adds rich flavor to the smoothies. Since it was late, my friend and I wanted something without caffeine - and even though there were limited non-caffeinated options, the employees were kind enough to point out which ones we could get. Ended up with the Wintermelon Crysanthemum Tea (which apparently is one of the top 6 most popular drinks) - no ice, 15% sugar, with brown sugar boba. I'm glad they had a 15% option which I dont see often, if at all in other places, and I'm glad I got this because the brown sugar boba added more sweetness to the drink so it ended up being like a 25%-40% sweetness to me. It was good though, and lightly chilled just enough that it was perfect without ice for the already chilly winter evening. Boba was fresh and chewy. Tea was fragrant enough and light and refreshing. The added flowers were a cute, nice touch for aesthetic. Would definitely return, and try something else. I recently got a egg waffel choco chip (Wed, Oct 29, 2025 at around 1700) and brown sugar boba. I waited probably 10 minutes for the waffel to be made, only to be told that it looked sad and deflated. Its no problem tho! If it was edible, I'd still eat it. They have some nice unique flavors you don't get at many other boba places like tiramisu or crème brûlée. I got a strawberry smoothie with coconut lychee and it was really good. Highly recommend trying. These locations tend to be pretty minimal so on the inside there is some seating but never that much. If you come here, I would not plan on there being a ton of open space especially if you have a bigger group. The service is friendly and was willing to answer our questions and explain what the drinks were like. They also allow a decent amount of customization. My partner and I decided to visit every single Don't Yell At Me shop when we visited Seattle, and boy did we achieve this task in the 3-4 days we were up there, lol. I can only comment on their chrysanthemum tea and wintermelon tea, and all I can say is: divine. If you're not a fan of milk tea and like tea, like actual tea flavors, get the chrysanthemum tea. I like how they actually include the chrysanthemum flowers in the tea. Not only is the tea pretty to drink, but visually aesthetic to the eyes. It's also wonderful to see some of the tea leaves they use for their drinks in tins to inspect and inhale the aroma before selecting a drink too! What was the selling point for my partner to visit this boba shop was their iconic clothing merch. If you ever come to CA and see some nerdy Asian guy wearing their iconic black or white "Don't Yell at Me" tee, it's 1000% my partner, lol. It was kind of whimsical that the employees informed us that the clothing sales were final. I had to tell them we had no plans to return, as it would require a plane ticket, a rental, and a drive to the store. Besides, my partner was just too in love with the hoodie and clothes. We will need to see another clothing merch before we hit WA again, lol. Didn't know that there was a location for Don't Yell at Me in Kirkland, so I had to stop by here to get some milk tea! There's a good bunch of seating I ordered my drinks up at the counter, though you can also order on an electronic system nearby. The original milk tea has a more milky & creamy taste if that's what you are into. We love love love how all the don't yell at me locations are dog friendly! We always bring our little @koda.bear.pomsky with us and he enjoys his visits. We love this location bc the village has all the best pets right around the corner! The ambiance here is very nice and modern, well lit & clean! They sell re-useable boba tea straws, merch & apparel! Service is on point and they are usually pretty knowledgeable about their tea offerings. Vegan options are very limited; I think just 2 options (fresh taro and brown sugar, don't quote me)? Of course, made sure with oat milk (looks like they use Califia brand which worked pretty good for this). Less sweet and half ice... not bad! Stopped by for bubble teas before a movie. The guy working here was SUPER nice and friendly - 5 stars for him alone. He was knowledgeable about the options and answered my questions. I ordered the taro with milk. It is puréed taro chunks swirled with milk. It got a bit too thick after a while, and it was a bit hard to get all the taro out, but overall it was tasty. I just wouldn't recommend if you're in the mood for something refreshing or lighter. Definitely a thick and heavy option. The guy also spent a lot of time hand making this taro milk, it seems like a very involved drink option, so once again - props to the people working here and thank you for the friendly service!
