Ive git their mango, coconut milk drink a couple of times and it was absolutely delish! Sooo Soo good. However, the last time I ordered, the mango was sour and barely any coconut milk. Yes, it wasnt mango season so my bad ordering it, but I was hopeful that maybe they used frozen mango. I came here around 12 PM looking for something refreshing to drink on a hot day. The staff was very friendly and courteous. She efficiently made my Sea Salt Ube Milk Tea, which I really appreciated since it was non-dairy. The refreshing drink was the highlight of my day! I tried a more fruity one and that was solid, nothing materially better than any other boba place, but just a solid options. Parking is a little annoying in the complex but it's navigable. I visited DIY Tea Lab this weekend for the first time. I have never been to this location. It is nestled amongst several stores in this strip mall. This tea place shares a kitchen with Just Poke, so you can enter that restaurant and you will find yourself in Boba heaven, too! The server greeted us warmly and waited patiently as we took some time to figure out what we wanted to order. My son ordered a classic Ruby Black Milk Boba Tea with 50% sugar and I ordered a Blue Ocean sparkling water with 25% sweetness. I appreciate the fact they allowed me to dial in the amount of sweetness I preferred. The seating area was clean, quiet, and peaceful. I appreciated the fact they compost and recycle at this location, too. Bonus- My son and I had fun battling a Pokemon Go Gym and making new friends there in the process! read more

I ordered a mango smoothie with tapioca boba and lychee jelly. The smoothie was good and enjoyed my add ons. This place is shared with a pole store so it's really a good idea. You can order food and drink that go well together. The service was fast and accurate. She was on a roll doing orders as she received a couple. The place was clean. People were nice and explain if you had questions. Will definitely come back and try other things they offer and maybe order a Poké. Parking is not a problem at all. One thing about me is that I love a treat. This location being in a shared space with Just Poke is AMAZING because what a great combo! I have yet to order from both in the same trip, but I definitely plan on it. They were out of tapioca boba when I want, but to be fair I went late in the day on a hot day. The worker did assure me that there were plenty of other fun options and talked me through all the other fun toppings, which was awesome because I usually get the same thing every time and haven't been adventurous. I love the ube milk tea here with tapioca pearls and light brown sugar syrup! Sometimes the salted foam, but only get the salted foam if you get 75% or more sweetness, as the drink will go too salty if the foam is on a mild drink. I had a good experience at the Ballard DIY Tea Lab location, so I figured since I was in Mill Creek, I would give this one a try too. As with the other location, the boba shop shares a storefront with Just Poke, making it a nice place to pick up both lunch and a drink. I wonder if all the other locations also have this signature pairing in place? I dropped by on a weekend during lunch and there was a line of 5 or 6 people waiting to order the poke but no one in line for drinks. There's a kiosk right on the counter to easily input my order, and I had my drink within a minute or two. Classic Milk Tea, 50% Sugar, Less Ice w/ Boba ($6.70) - The milk tea is surprisingly pretty good, with a nice fragrance of assam tea leaves. They add just the right balance of creamer so that it adds body to the drink but doesn't overwhelm the tea. The sugar they add is a good amount less than competitors, giving a drink that's perfectly not-too-sweet for my tastes at 50%. Similar to a lot of other places, they do use a fructose machine, so I wonder where the difference comes from. The boba served at this DIY Tea Lab is harder than my preference. The pearls are pretty uniformly smooth and round, with a small bit of stickiness to the exterior, but the centers have a somewhat hard bite which reduces the amount of chew in each pearl. Milk Tea Rating: 4.5/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 The drinks here seem to be pretty good. There aren't too many choices for boba around Mill Creek, but this is a solid one. Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms. Boba topping wasn't very fresh. Overall, not worth the price ($7-8). On top of lower quality boba, it didn't come with much. Drinking normally, I got through all of the boba not even halfway through the drink. The tea itself tastes to be brewed well though, and is at least a real tea drink vs the sugar water some places will try and sell. read more

The DIY Tea Lab in Mill Creek shares a spot with Just Poke. It's very convenient because I often go in to grab food and a drink for dessert. Their drinks are good but there's a lot of competition that does it a bit better. There are a couple tables inside and some bigger tables outside if the weather is nice. They have a really easy to use ordering system in the store or online and it comes out pretty quickly. Been here a couple times and make sure you come earlier in The day. Ordered 3 drinks just as a wake up call on a Sunday morning and boy did they help my friends but it didnt help me. My friends ordered the Let That Man'go Smoothie and the Taro Lover Milk Tea with regular sweetness, regular ice, and lychee. I ordered the Brown Sugar Fresh Milk with regular sweetness, less ice, and boba. Both loved their drinks. Mango was sweet and chunky as described. Taro was sweet and smooth. For me, there was no brown sugar at all. It was basically milk tea with a pinch of brown sugar syrup. No matter how many times i mixed it, thinking i was crazy, i wasnt and there was nothing. First time in milk creek! I've never been to this area before, I was driving by and needed some tea/ caffeine fix. DIY tea lab it is. It's like their other locations: Ballard: Fremont, they are joint: sharing with just poke. The lines were a little confusing. Long lines, turned out the wrong lines too. The Just poke staff seems helpful and we're trying to help the DIY ladies. They were sweet but at least when I came in, overwhelmed and very busy. I ordered matcha fresh milk with strawberry and boba. And brown sugar boba milk tea. They got the sweetness wrong as well as missing boba in my matcha drink. Seeing how busy they were, I took it and left. Didn't realize it till later. I did get the lychee jelly though so it wasn't all lost. Brown sugar, I had it with 50% sugar but it was way too sweet still. Overall, glad they are here. Very busy, long wait and few errors. Sweet ladies though. read more

I do not have a sweet tooth so I usually order the least sugar option and it is refreshing, even half sugar is pretty sweet. Love the ube milk tea. It's boba tiiiiiiime! I'm in deep trouble now that they've opened up north!! I've been a regular at their newcastle and Kirkland locations and this new location is just as great as it's paired with Just Poke. It's only soft opening right now so be patient with them as they work out any kinks but all the drinks I've had so far have been perfect! They have a set menu but you're able to customize your own drink so if you don't have much a sweet tooth but do regular sweet, that's on you, boo (@ the 1 star review guy lol). Angela was so helpful and cheerful! The employees always have great recommendations and are patient with you if you have any questions or concerns. DIY is definitely an upgrade to what the location had before and you won't be disappointed! :) read more

First time at DIY tea lab. We got a brown sugar milk tea and classic milk tea with boba both at 100% sugar. Both of our drink tasted like plain tea, no taste of sweetness at all. We went back inside to let them know. They took our drink to add more sugar syrup. It still tasted like plain tea. Very disappointed. Bad first time experience. I wouldn't go back. Twice we have been here. First time during the soft opening so I didn't want to be too critical. But this time around Im a little more convinced that I wouldn't come again. They have an interesting menu with good looking drinks. I personally thought the flavors are somewhat off, either too sweet or too bitter (the grapefruit one). Although my daughter got the lychee one this time and I thought it was pretty good. What I do like is that they have kid's sizes but only a limited menu for that size, so that's a bummer. I don't see why you can't have any drink in that size. Also, the small cup was full with ice and barely any drink... I blame myself, I should have maybe asked for less ice. So when you go there, make sure to modify ice level if you are getting the kid's size. The ordering system is what I absolutely dislike. Because you can order on a screen, which is right in front of the cashier and you can either choose to do a verbal order or the electronic, so it feels weird. Why not have the screen closer to the door so that people can order there while others are ordering verbally? Just doesn't seem like it was thought through very well. Sharetea is better ;) read more

I've yet to try the brown sugar thing, but after reading a review and seeing the recent popularity, wanted to check it out! The brown sugar syrup is soooo fragrant! Straight brown sugar, melted down into a syrup, swirled with milk! Like drinking cereal milk, but less carbs since there's no actual cereal!! It's sweet, but it's sugar, what do you expect? The milk really tones it down. OMG! They don't advertise it, but if you're creative, they have vegan & keto options too!! I'm trying out this whole veganism thing part time, but it's been tough to give up my bbt. So glad I can order a MACADAMIA milk substitute drink or even oat when I'm feeling like something a little heartier! Really expected to love this place but was disappointed. I ordered a taro milk tea with pudding. The taro was powdery and grainy and barely sweet at all. I usually prefer my drinks to be stronger rather than watery but this one was so strong/thick it almost wasn't enjoyable. I tried this place once before when they had first opened. It was extremely disappointing the first time but I assumed it was due to them being newly open. I decided to give it another chance yesterday and once again it was extremely disappointing. The service isn't very good. I walked up the front and the girl at the front just looked at me and didn't say anything. The screen is in the front so I assumed I'm supposed to put the order in myself on the computer. I asked her if that's what I was supposed to do and she just said yes and stared at me blankly while I put my order in without offering any help or offering to answer any questions. My order came out fairly quickly (probably the only positive). My milk tea tasted so watery. It was like water with a splash of tea flavor. I order my drinks 50% sweet but when I get it with less sweetness/sugar the tea flavor usually comes through more. But in this case I could hardly taste anything. I ended up not even drinking more than a couple of sips of my drink. If you're looking for good bubble tea this place is not it. read more

So grateful a bubble tea cafe is finally in this area! The cafe is clean and modern. You can order on your phone and pick up or you can self-order at the register in the cafe. It's a shared space with a poké restaurant, so I'll have to try that next time. Back to the bubble tea...they have a great selection of milk teas, iced teas and smoothies as well as toppings. I've tried their fruit tea and passion green tea. It's pretty good except that they don't use real fruits for the flavors.
