Wanted to find a place to fix/replace my broken viper alarm system near where I live and opens on weekend. Planet Motorsports immediately caught my eyes bcuz of their good reviews on yelp so I decided to give it a try. Frank was very attentive, straight forward, and helpful. He gave me some options of the alarm and suggested me to get the new viper alarm system bcuz it's more reliable comparing to the other brands. I hate it when my car has problems so getting a reliable and hassle free alarm system is a must. He also told me sometimes when the alarm is not working is bcuz maybe I accidentally put it on valet mode so he said he will check and see if it's fixable so I can save some bucks on replacing the whole system. Unfortunately, the old one is broken so I had to install a new system in but Frank offered me great price so I drove home with my new viper alarm system with a big smile on my face. When's the last time you've seen the boss in the shop? That really showed me that he was going to make sure it was done properly. His business partner even came to talk to me and apologized for all the trouble. No hard feelings. The management at Planet Motorsports did every thing to make things right. I really appreciate the way they took care of things. I am willing to believe that my incident was an isolated incident. Completely unprofessional! I called after I noticed that they had drilled into a cover of my dashboard after installing an alarm and he went off on me. He started cussing at me and saying that I was trying to come up on them. I explained to him that I had just replaced my entire dash and he goes on to accuse me of wanting to again, "come up on them". I got an alarm installed on an old civic. A civic that I'm building for nostalgic reasons! He accused me of being "shady" and that I would never be able to afford a car that they typically work on. I'm a small business owner. I have no need to be "coming up" on a business like this. I just wanted them to see that they did a horrible job. Save yourself some time and go to a higher end shop. read more

A black car in sunny SoCal needs tint badly so I didn't waste any time bringing our new black Prius to Planet. I called in to get a quote and when I came in, negotiated very briefly with them to bring the price down a bit for a repeat customer. It was a fair price given the 9 windows on this car and was 10 bucks cheaper than another reputable vendor I had spoken to who was closer to me. However, the other guy had a week long wait and I was tired of getting cooked while driving. I even bought a coupon Planet had on my Yelp app while I waited and saved another 20 bucks. They have a nice waiting area where you can sit and watch HBO / Netflix on the TV. The non-stop electronica booming from the in-store display was pretty annoying and the whole process took awhile (I finished a long movie). Best Customer Service! Went there for head unit for my slk and was stuck on certain models. After going to other shops who were just interested in making the buck Frank was more interested in making my wife and I happy. Though we chose a head unit that was missing some features we needed. I came back and Frank once again amazed me with superb CS. He upgraded my HU to one that suited my needs. Over all great service decent prices and decent selection. Only complaint is that there's a Hispanic installer there who is not friendly at all who seems to be pissed off at the world be warned. Though when i went back to upgrade the HU there was another installer way down to Earth who will help you and show you how to operate your new equipment. I originally came here to get a Viper alarm installed but left with an alarm, HID, and stereo installation. Dave is knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and very honest. I had asked him a bunch of questions and he answered them in terms that were easy to understand to someone who doesn't have any auto-mechanic experience. Also he gave me $45 discount which was outstanding. They charge a good and affordable price. The best thing about this place is the LIFETIME warranty on their installation! They have a mini lobby where customers/guests can seat and watch Netflix. The only downside is that I wish they had provided beverages for the customers that do decided to stay at wait for their car at the shop. Overall installation (+hardware) price can't be matched anywhere in the IE, great and knowledgeable staff, quick and timely service and LIFETIME WARRANTY! I came in to get an alarm and stereo for my 2000 GMC Safari van, and I couldn't be happier with the deal I got. Dave was so helpful and really knew his products. He even checked out the problem I was having with my power door locks and the loose connection with my Air Conditioning switch FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE. I had a bad motor on my driver's side door lock, and I also purchased a new Windshield mounted antenna (Because my stock one was busted off). So after all was done, I bought a Viper Alarm, a Pioneer Stereo Unit, replaced the antenna, and had the new door lock motors installed. AND THE PRICE WAS JUST RIGHT!!!! (Out of respect, I won't quote the DEAL I got, but let's just say Dave was very generous). Be sure to buy the VOUCHER and use it when you come down here. Came here through a referral from a friend to upgrade my headlights to HID. Ask for A.J. to help you, he was very enthusiastic and really took the time to answer all of my questions, if not more. He's willing to work with you in terms of pricing, just be reasonable and you should be able to get a decent deal. In my case, the 35W bulbs he quoted me on the phone were out of stock when I came in, so he upgraded to the 50W at no additional charge - that was very nice. Overall I think I got a great deal, but even in the rare chance that I didn't, the customer service here (AJ to be specific) was well worth the extra cost compared to other places I was in and out in less than 30 mins. The job looks well done. If the headlights hold up in long term, which I have no reason to doubt that they won't, I'll be back here to upgrade the stereo system as well.
