100 percent would recommend coming to this dental office. Everyone is so nice and really do take care of you! Yesterday the 15th of August I got my wisdom teeth taken out and omg was it really fast!! The needles scared me. I was shaking but they assured me everything was going to be okay and made sure I was comfortable. The procedure was done before I knew it. Note: RACISM IN HEALTHCARE! My insurance covered this initial visit I'm in the dentist chair. Instead of x-rays, the tech begins a third degree questioning session about when I last saw a dentist. Couldn't remember the exact date. She pressured: " We must have the date ". I gave a date. She comes back minutes later saying : " you gave a wrong date. I did a record check ". SO, MY INSURANCE COVERED THIS INITIAL VISIT! I clearly expressed my concerns: You guys could have done this over the PHONE, prior to me taking off work, driving, gas, MY TIME, waiting in lobby, completing YOUR FORMS/ information. I'm now out of the chair, hat in hand!! Dr. Tantra Djaya said he was " passing by, heard the commotion ". WOW! What a nice young man! He sat down, listened and seemed very pleasant. He said it's Policy. I said not my 1st rodeo: Never been treated like this in a dentist chair or office. Conclusion: My personal take on this . How it made me feel. THEY WERE TREATING ME DIFFERENTLY BECAUSE I'M BLACK. Why ask me for my last dental visit date? When they could have just run the Background/Records Check on their on as they did?? WHY COME BACK AND CONFRONT ME WITH THE INFORMATION? Couldn't we have done this on the phone?? IN THE LOBBY?? Second, MONEY$$$!!! OVER CARE. THEY WERE GLAD TO SEE ME LEAVE!! Crooks!! How do you find an honest Dentist? So very sad. This profession has gone to S..t ! Maybe they just don't serve Blacks and are Suspicious based on ignorance and/or hate. Now Remember : All I did was call, make appointment n come in. They had many opportunities to ask me when I last saw a Dentist Before I was in the Chair! Racist can be very nice, caring, loving people . They don't act like and look like monsters anymore.. They look like Dentist! And other Doctors. Dr Tantra is an excellent, gentle, professional DENTIST. I have been his patient for 10 yrs. He is also my parents Dentist for 20 yrs. He isn't like other Dentist who won't clean your teeth because you have other dental issues!! The practice doesn't discuss $$ in the thousands and send you home without a teeth cleaning. I just started an Implant procedure (major dental) with Dr Tantras specialist. He also was very sterile , thorough and I had no pain . I am pleased with the post Implant recovery. The office is clean and very busy but always worth the wait. Place clean. Right across from the high school. Totally cool have cartoons in the x ray room. First time here. A lot of paperwork. Little confusion about whether they took a copy of my insurance card or not. No big deal. Staff was nice. Dr. was really good didn't try to sell me extra. Talk to you about teeth whitening and explain the whole thing to me if I decided I wanted it. He was very professional. They have modern equipment and the x-rays are done I believe to a computer. I've come to Tantra and his staff for as long as I could remember. Tantra has always been extremely patient and respectful of myself and all of my family. I remember being about 6 or 7 and looking forward to seeing him because he would always give my siblings and I really cool treats such as cute toothbrushes or rings. In some occasions, he even gave use $5 for not crying! How awesome is that? Did I mention that we drive out all the way from Long Beach to see him? I was recently in because I thought one of my fillings came off but it turns out that I had a badly decayed tooth and I needed a root canal. What I thought would be a painful procedure wasn't so bad thanks to Tantra's gentleness. If you're looking for a dentist, look no more. Tantra is honestly the best. Go try him out for yourself! I try to schedule an appointment and I didn't like the way the staff treated me so then I said nevermind that I would find another dentist and the receptionist was like ok what ever. I have been at this dentist for quite some time and most of my visits are always unpleasant. It is always awkward checking in considering no one pays you any mind, as if you weren't there. Not to mention they are inconsiderate of your time and I have left hours after my original appt time. Scheduling an appointment always seems to be a problem because "Dr. Tantra is booked up" for however long or "he won't be back from vacation until then". So let's revolve my appointment around their time when it's convenient enough I suppose. I understand being busy, but when I have continuously cut time from work or other personal matters repeatedly it gets old. Lastly, apparently my teeth have gotten "darker or stained from drinking too much coffee or soda" when I drink neither of those at all aha. Might be their way of defense for a mishap that occurred on their part. I hope no one else has to deal with the service I have had. Irritated yes, but with all due respect my intention is just to be informative to others reading and nothing else. read more
