OUTSTANDING!!! I have a 2003 Jeep TJ with a 5-speed manual transmission. After hearing some…read morenoises, something broke and my drive train locked up. I figured I broke something in the transmission (judging from past experience with a different vehicle). Most transmission shops in the area refuse to touch a manual transmission. I went to see Mark at Cottman Transmission in New Castle. He showed no hesitation whatsoever. After we talked, he immediately dispatched a tow truck, at no charge, to pick up my vehicle (on a busy Friday) and had my Jeep in his shop within the hour. On Monday, he had determined that the problem was broken gears in the rear differential, and NOT in my transmission. This was good news! He gave me a very fair estimate, and I picked up my fully repaired Jeep on Wednesday after paying a few dollars UNDER the original estimate. In addition, he had checked out the rest of the drive train to ensure everything was in good shape. Overall, the service from Cottman Transmission in New Castle was excellent, and Mark was extremely professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and very responsive. Honest, reliable, and eager to serve a first time customer, I wouldn't hesitate to come back, and I highly recommend this shop. Lastly, I have a 1979 Jeep CJ-5 with a Chevy 350 in need of a new transmission, and I look forward to working with Mark to get it back on the road for the spring Jeep season!

I am not one to write may reviews. I've written a handful but its not common at all mainly because…read moreyou have to sign up for google plus or something dumb like that. That said, I truly believe that when someone goes above an beyond what they are expected to do they deserve credit where credit is due. I took my Mazda into Benchmark after doing ton of online research and didn't tell him a thing about what I found. I wanted to see what Joe found. I knew I need a new transmission and Joe confirmed it but didn't try an up sell me on something I didn't need. In fact, he found and fixed simple things that had nothing to do with my transmission as he came across them - at no extra charge. One year later, my trans acts up. Dam. Called Joe. Told him what was up an brought it in. After taking a look and doing some research he found a part that was used to rebuild the trans had been recalled but we were never informed. I will still under warranty and Joe fix everything without a cent. Fast forward to today. More car troubles. Unfortunately, I've moved out of state but I still call Joe. Tell him exactly what the AAMCO is telling me and he calls it like it is and tells me he disagrees with my new shop. He has no gain in my car but takes the time to listen, do his own research, find the part I need and even offered to order and send it to me saving me soooo much money. Joe is legit. I cant speak more highly of him.

I messaged a bunch of auto Repair shops for brake service. Needed to change the brake pads (front and rear) and wanted to rotor resurfacing. I was quoted $199. However, when I spoke to Eric on phone the prices he said were different from what he msged. So I decided to go to Meineke. But they were terrible and I walked off immediately. So came back to Eric. Fixed up an apt. He did service in less than an hour. Although he didn't resurfac the rotors, he said he cleaned them and the rotors are in good condition. No replacing needed. After a week of driving (200miles), I have no complaints. One point to note, this is a CASH ONLY place. I was not made aware if it. Also, the place does not have a good waiting area. The chairs are old n dusty. Not that it bothered me. But something to note. He did seem busy since he was the only one working. He actually turned down couple of jobs while I was waiting there. Might be a good idea to call and check. Overall, I am satisfied with the service provided. I was a lil upset abt rotor resurfacing not being performed and would have given 3 stars for that. But since this place does not have much reviews, I gave it 4 stars.

First, we were shocked that you could drive your car into the service bay and stay in it during the service! I never liked having to sit in those waiting rooms, because I'm one of those people that always likes to be able to 'keep an eye on my stuff'. Being right there in the vehicle made everything faster too, they didn't have to walk over to a waiting area to ask me if I wanted to replace my air filter and wipers (I did). The manager was very friendly and all of the staff we interacted with or observed interacting with others there were all very friendly and professional. We were very impressed with the level of service.
