In the Derby area it is next to impossible to find good delivery, but DJ's has allowed us to get no only great pizza, but great Italian food delivered straight to our door. They are always prompt and thorough on the phone when we order, remember our address (based on phone #), and are true to their delivery times. This place is great!! They just opened up a location in Fairfield and since we found out we have been going there all the time. I typically get the blackened tilapia with broccoli and mashed potatoes and it's so good! We also tried their baked mac and cheese and it was so crispy and perfect. I highly recommend this spot as your go to Friday night take out food, we have nothing but great things to say! Good pizza. The mashed potato pizza is VERY good. Wings are good. Fried calamari is good. Food was ready when they said it would be. Have not tried their delivery service or online ordering yet. Friendly delivery service and I've ordered from here often. With that said the last 2 times the food has practically been inedible. Chicken cutlets so thin and over cooked it was like eating shoe leather. Side of French fries that were so greasy and over fried at the same time... And this was a noon order on a Wednesday. Well, this was certainly an eye opener. When DJ's first opened, it was the most delicious, new pizza in Shelton. Every time we ordered, the food was delicious, pizza excellent. As time went on, the pizza wasn't up to par as before. Orders were not delivered as ordered, we had to call and clarify our order. Finally, we decided to stop frequenting our favorite pizza parlor. Time goes on, and we thought we would try it again for old times sake. Well, bad decision b/c tonight we ordered pizza. The salami/pepperoni pizza with a side of hot oil was so undercooked, it was raw. Also, DID NOT get a side of hot oil. Our fresh tomato pizza was absolutely dry and had literally 6 slices of tomato on it, and the cheese was cold and coagulated when delivered. We truly did love DJ's, but this is the worst pizza we have ever tasted. Very sad, they were my go to. Also forgot a side of pizza sauce. read more

My favorite pizza place! This is the only place so far in CT that I actually feel good after eating their pizza. Other places, I regret it within 30 minutes of the last bite. What makes this pizza so different? I'm not sure, but I think it is because they don't load it up with crummy quality cheese. The quality and amount of toppings are perfect and delicious! I feel fabulous the rest of the evening. This is the only pizza place that I have found to be worthy of a weekly visit. Oh - and the employees are SO nice and friendly. What more could one ask for? Just ordered from here!! The mozzarella pizza is pretty good, not as good as New York pizza or anything like that but very good for Connecticut. The mozzarella pizza was good, but the mashed potato bacon pizza was AMAZING! It was a big hit for the kids and the adults. Everything about the mashed potato bacon pizza was scrumptious, including the moist, not burnt, delicious crust. We also ordered the garlic bread and cheese which was good. I'd like to know if their fried dough is worth buying bc it's a little expensive! Several days ago, I placed a large order, over $110, which included 7 pizzas and 2 large calzones. We've been ordering from this establishment for several years and we've not really had a problem. On this particular order, half of the pizzas were burnt and black on the bottom. The order was for a gathering of about 15 people. The guests ate only the tops of the pizza, that's how burnt they were. I took pictures of the pizza and called DJs. I explained the situation. They first offered to take the pizzas back. I explained the guests have already eaten the tops off of the pizza. They offered to send three pizzas over to the house. I explained that 4 of them were burnt, and the guests don't want their pizza. They offered a $15 credit. I said that would cover 1 pizza and 4 of them were burnt. Ok, $20 credit. I explained that half the pizzas were burnt, therefore a fair offering would be half the bill. Danny, got on the phone at this point. I explained the situation. "I'm not giving you the credit. I'm not going to stand here and argue, I'm busy." And Danny, one of the owners, hung up on me. I get pizza gets burnt. Things happen. I worked in a food establishment, and I've seen what goes on in those places, especially when it's a packed house. I'm not looking for a handout, and I've been a customer of theirs for years, often with orders $60 or more. I've never complained or had an issue with them. Until now. It's a shame and unfortunate that Danny had, what amounted to a tantrum instead of talking it out. Had he issued a credit, we would have continued to order from there in the future and he would have certainly recouped that lost revenue, whatever the size. But. I will not be ordering from DJs again, nor will I be recommending them, which represents and even larger loss. read more

I get delivery while I'm working and I usually get the same thing but they are great on the phone, on time with delivery, and always remember my little extra requests. (Usually extra parm cheese) I work on the same road and recommend to guests. (I work at a hotel) I also highly recommend the chicken francese, they also have no problem substituting the mashed potatoes it usually comes with for pasta. We ordered the Supreme pizza, large, for pickup. The pizza was ready and hot. It was delicious! The crust was average thickness, but better than average taste. The toppings were generous, fresh and great quality. The onions were sweet and freshly chopped, fresh mushrooms and a variety of peppers. The sausage chunks were large and tasty. Plenty of pepperoni too. Very flavorful! We'll be back! The only negative was that the menu is only visible through GrubHub, which I did not want to install on my phone. We had the best experience at DJ's last night! We are here from Texas for the Yale kicking camp. We were on campus until 8pm and then wanted a good meal to eat at the hotel. We order here because we are close by and usually it isn't so bad. Not comparable to New Haven pizza at all, but usually okay. The salads are decent but it's pretty hard to mess that up. Tonight's large cheese was overdone and barely edible. We've had some okay pizzas from here before but we probably won't be back. read more
