Good tour for beginners like us. We have fun and the tour guide didn't go fast and make sure we didn't get lost.

I definitely would recommend going with another snowmobile outfit out of Mammoth. The guy in charge of this outfit is super unprofessional and rude. They shorted us on our tour by a half an hour times eight people it adds up to over $600 that they shorted us. When we confronted him about shorting us on the time of our tour, he stated that it was not a time tour. It was more of a mileage tour, and we went too fast following his guide, and that is why we were back to soon. I don't understand how we could gone too fast when we were following his guide. He basically scolded us for trying out the machines turning and what not to see how the machines handled the speed of our entire tour was under 25 mph. He also said to read the fine print on our tour, which was a three hour tour that we paid for.

The highlight of our Mammoth trip!! I was a little worried after reading a couple of bad reviews, but I was worried for nothing! Super friendly and courteous. Not at all bad with communication! Dj's seems to be a family run business so pls keep in mind if they dont answer your call during business hours, they're probably getting people set up for their rides. Thats what happened to me... but just as the voicemail says, I texted their number and got a text back not too long after. Reservations were easily done on their website - a reminder email was sent out a day or two before. We arrived 30minutes before our scheduled tour to fill out & sign the forms & then we were off! Our family & friends had such a great time, we will definitely be back!

This was definitely worth the price! My boyfriend + I had so much fun as first timers! The staff is very friendly and they check up on you through the ride to make sure you are good! I wish we were able to go off trail and hall a** On them, but other than that I highly recommend!

I would like to rent 1-2 machines in order to ride to Upper Owens river to do some winter fly fishing and duck hunting. Is that something you do?

Unfortunately we do not do any drop off services. You may only rent from us for guided tours, in a certain areas, or for riding in our designated snow park area located at Smokey bear flats. Sorry.

Managing a group of kids with very different skill levels is no small task, but Drew handled it with patience, enthusiasm, and impressive skill. He quickly assessed where each child was at and tailored his guidance so everyone felt challenged while still having fun and building confidence on the mountain. Over the two days, Drew took the kids all over the mountain, helping them explore new terrain while always keeping safety front and center. His clear instructions and practical tips made a noticeable difference in their skiing, and it was great to see their progress even within a short time. Drew has a great way of explaining technique in a way kids understand, which helped them improve without feeling overwhelmed. One of the highlights for the kids was spending time in the ski park, where Drew showed them some fun tricks and helped them try new things safely. He struck the perfect balance between encouraging them to push their limits and making sure they stayed in control and confident. By the end of the lessons, all four kids were excited about how much they had learned and couldn't stop talking about their favorite runs. We're incredibly grateful for the experience and would highly recommend Drew Harris to other families looking for a fantastic ski instructor. His ability to manage multiple levels, keep kids engaged, and make learning fun made these two days on the mountain truly memorable.

For the 2025/2026 season it was the location for good skiing and even more so in the later part. The strangest season I've ever seen. Snow then rain, hot then cold then hot again, but Mammoth came through with some very good skiing if you were there at the right time. Nice upgrades on the Mtn with high capacity lifts and grooming but would like to see better dining options at the Main Lodge. Another thought would be for Alterra to loosen up with lift ticket options and pricing instead of forcing one to purchase the Ikon. All considerations taken Mammoth is still a great ski mountain and I look forward to next season........

We also visited Tamarak Sno-Park just five minutes up the road from Balsam, and it was beautiful, but was laid out with trails for cross-country skiers and snowmobilers. You need a $5 pass to park at a Sno-Park, and you must buy it before you get there. Stop at Tom's in town before you head up the hill. We'd never heard of Sno-Parks, and didn't know what to expect. They're just forested areas where you might hike if the weather were warmer where you can safely park and use the restroom if you need to. There are areas for sledding, but they are natural hills will trees and streams and rocks. There are open areas (some are Forest Service roads) (no trucks in sight), but there are lots of little hills, too. In the spring when we were there the best hill we found ended in a stream so we had to jump off our sleds in order not to get wet. We did not snowshoe, but there were lovely less hilly spots where snow shoeing would be fun. Balsam had a few parking spots (maybe space for 8-10 cars?), so it'll fill up fast. Tamarak has a much larger parking lot. Sno-Parks exist, basically, so that people won't park on the side of the road. There is no trash removal, no lights or electricity, and no amenities like picnic tables. It's just a parking lot and a safe (and beautiful) place to play in the snow. We were there in early April, and the snow was spotty, but still we were able to find enough to sled until we were exhausted, build a snowman, and have a snowball fight. We stayed in Shaver Lake, but these Sno-Parks are close enough to Clovis and Fresno, that you could also drive up for the day.

We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. The mini fridge in the room would not recommend I don't think it worked despite turning the knobs to higher setting, there is a communal fridge in the dining kitchen area, so you can write your name with a note and use that if necessary. People don't really need to bring much as the resort has everything you might need. However, extra body wash, shampoo, and such would be useful to bring if traveling with a large group because the ones offered in the bathroom come in tiny trial size containers. The bunk beds seemed to have a inflatable mattresses so if planning a trip with multiple adults that could be a concern if picky. My boyfriend and I stayed during Memorial Day weekend, and we were very happy with this place. The mountains had some visible snow still from the lodge deck. Check in and Check out was simple and easy. If you need to work remotely with strong internet, know that while the wifi is Starlink, it's spotty. There were s'mores our first night which reminded me so much of camping growing up. We were in the Sugar something lodge, and the hot water did not disappoint, reliable and hot each time. Water pressure okay and as expected being so remote. Food is all self serve, and it's very organized. There is a small ice maker as well to fill up water bottles for the day. The food was consistent. If you get bored easily, i recommend checking out board games at the front desk. If technology dependent, were sort of able to download slowly episode of a show on Netlfix while there, but I recommend doing this earlier in advance at home or wherever signal is fast. There are 2 tennis courts too, lap pool, hot tub, bouncy house (sometimes on), kids trampoline, lounge chairs galore, communal books. The Archery was a blast, it gave us a chance to try it, and the canoeing was so relaxing. Upon request, they have a bagged lunch system so if you plan to venture out to the famous site seeing hikes or spots at Seqoia National Park, it could be helpful. There are many activities, and it is incredibly family friendly. I highly recommend to all no matter what age. You will be better off throwing yourself into the ground at high speed to be able to stop on time, and walk around it, or you risk of being threatened like a criminal to cancel your pass, and to only use an easy line. On Friday, January 9th, I used a nice black diamond line 3 times from 9-11:30 am, no fence whatsoever, everything perfectly safe. While trying to run it for a 4th time at around 12:45, I noticed a "safety fence" on exactly the exit of that line, on a place that wouldn't make any sense. I already committed to the line, and was going at a decent speed. I tried to be polite enough, not destroying the fence but rather going under it. The ski patrol was finishing the fence close to where I crossed it, so he proceeded to threaten me like a criminal to cancel my pass and felt with the authority to order me to use Academy only. Weird thing, I tried to run the line again at like 2:30 pm, but planned to use a slightly different exit to avoid that fence, and for some "strange" reason, the fence I crossed and that I was threatened for, wasn't even there anymore. That tells me that someone made a mistake and just put a fence on a place that didn't make any sense whatsoever, and that would have actually made the run more dangerous instead of safer. Not even try to e-mail China Peak, they won't own their mistake, and essentially they will threaten you again over email to cancel you pass. I…read moremean, if you're a skiier, you probably already know about it, but in the off season (before the snows), you can get a room for a low rate, and still have the whole of Mammoth Lakes at your doorstep to explore! Tons of shops, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, etc. await! For amenities, Juniper Springs Resort boasts a pool, an exercise room, a jacuzzi, and beautiful lounging areas. The rooms all have small balconies where you can get some fresh air and admire the scenery. And (we learned mid-trip) the resort is one of four regular stops for the local free shuttle/trolley that comes by every 30 minutes or so and is free to use. On top of that, the resort is adjacent to one of Mammoth Lakes' many ski lifts, so at least some of the runs are available literally right at your doorstep. The room we rented was comfortable and spacious, with a full kitchen, nice comfy living room with gas fireplace, and a separate bedroom, and there were TVs in both rooms. Parking, by the way, is underground, which is assuredly a huge perk during the winter snows. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay, and would definitely consider staying there again. Couple of things they could have done better: 1. Guests should be made aware at check-in of the availability of the shuttle/trolley. My sweetheart was stuck at the hotel for a day until we figured this out for ourselves, as even when asked about Uber/Lyft, the front desk never mentioned the shuttle. 2. The ice machine on the 4th floor was perpetually empty. Not sure if it was just being regularly raided by other guests, or if it was in need of service. 3. A blender we attempted to use (provided as one of the in-room amenities) leaked its contents out through the bottom seal like a seive. When I disassembled it to check the gasket, I found black mold. The front desk was unable to help, but offered to remove it for us. 4. The televisions in the room were not "smart" in the sense that we could not "cast" to them from our phones. We do this a lot, so it's not a user error thing. Just beware you will be limited to whatever viewing options the TV/cable service provides. PRO TIP 1: Hinging off of #3 above, the rooms in the resort are potentially privately owned. Apparently ours was, and was rented out as a sort of Air-BnB. This was the reason the hotel couldn't help with the blender, as it is not an item the resort provides, but was provided by the owner. PRO TIP 2: BEWARE THE ELEVATOR DOORS! They close VERY quickly after opening, and we were struck by them several times. Open the door, stick your hand in, and once everyone has gone in or out, then remove your hand. I'll end with a funny/silly observation. In the elevators was posted a list of the hotel regulations, among which were the parking requirements. The advisement ended with a warning that vehicles parked inappropriately, and not corrected within 24 hours, would have a "boot" affixed to their vehicle. In a nutshell, if your vehicle is parked in such a way that it is causing a problem, their "fix" will be to make that situation permanent. Totally makes sense.

First timer and will be a life-long visitor from now on!…read more SERVICE: Amazing! Super welcoming staff and accommodating. We ended up extending our stay and took care of it right away. I was about to cancel our reservation due to the recent snow/winter storm and even with chains we were worried about becoming stranded but they were kind enough to offer a reschedule due to the promo being non cancellable. Glad we stuck through the new reservation! Communication was very easy; either through messages or phone call and our needs were met quickly. Being a first timer in the resort and the area, they were very helpful with answering our questions about things to do or where to go. I can't say enough good things about their staff. Check in was a breeze with online and at registration, so was check out. AMENITIES: Granted we went during winter months and right after a snowstorm so we really weren't able to use the amenities such as the pool or hot tub but we were able to walk around and it was open. The Pines market is very convenient with all our needs as well as the other shops and stores for snacks or different foods. Parking was easy at the registration although they might need to repaint some of the numbers or lines in front of the chalets but other than that, no issues with parking at all. ROOM/ACCOMMODATION: We reserved a 2 queens chalet with lakeside view. Unfortunately, our view was blocked by the electric pole/trees towards the lake but can still see some of the lake. It was still a beautiful view and the location of our chalet was close to the amenities. The chalet was clean and had no harsh cleaning solution smells. I loved that it came with a kitchenette and the balcony to do some outdoor grilling. The place was comfortable and homey. I wish there was just another toilet upstairs lol because there was 4 of us and we somehow managed to want to use the restroom at the same time multiple times LOL. But otherwise, everything was in working condition. As a suggestion, if they can change the bedroom tv to a smart tv because the cable channels kept glitching and channel options were slim also if possible just have it on the wall, creates more walking space because it was pretty tight walking to the beds lol. There's this little cubby space on the other side of the bathroom wall where a dresser (a tall one) could be put instead. Otherwise, I still very much loved our stay. We absolutely did not want to leave. I cannot wait to book this resort again. Highly recommend! Wonderful staff, amenities and accommodation! Close to yosemite and oakhurst. Very convenient.

I only stayed one night at The Pines Resort in Bass Lake, but it was enough to absolutely love it…read more Our cabin was small but super cozy, just a short walk to the lake, and we had a great lake view from our balcony. The cabins freely a bit outdated, but the property is really clean and well kept, and the restaurants and bars were amazing. We had such a fun time. Huge shoutout to Kim from the security team, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and took great care of us, even shuttling us back and forth to the Pines Bar a few times. Honestly, every staff member we encountered was awesome. Short stay, great experience, and we'll definitely be back.

The Pines Resort - We used the tent for our first look. This was also our backup option if it rained. Some people choose to have the ceremony under the tent.
