The car and buying experience was 5 stars. However post purchase the experience didn't meet expectations. 1. No one ever mentioned the extended warranty they sell does not pay enough for a Volvo dealer labor rates (I had to pay the difference). You would expect a dealer selling only pre owned Volvos to sell an extended service plan that covered the rates that Volvo dealers charge. Even the Volvo dealer was surprised. 2. They underfunded the sales tax and I had to pay more money to the DMV by hundreds of dollars. 3. They didn't complete the registration properly, it took 2 trips to the DMV and they were not at all helpful when I asked them for clarification of assistance. After I paid the DMV the additional money only then did they realize the dealer simply renewed plates no longer on the vehicle and didn't order new plates. 4. I didn't mention this before but I bought it with 70k miles but they didn't even do a 70k service on it. I had to pay out of pocket for the 70k. 5. Their c we tidied inspection missed leaking front struts and broken left engine mount. Luckily I ah the warranty. Unlucky I had to pay for a portion of the labor rates. They have great selection of Volvos. They were upfront on the price and physical condition of the vehicle. If I had known about the warranty shortage and the lack of ability to get CA DMV sorted out, and the actual condition of the rest of the vehicle I might have thought twice about it. I called about a Volvo that they had on craigslist, the salesman tells me sure, it has under 30,000 miles and he had to contact the owner so I can test the car. he doesn't call me back,so I call him a couple days later. I noticed the price is really high for the mileage and I noticed the mileage isn't what he said according to the ad. Then he states no, I have two cars of the same exact build, and the one I have has under 30,000 miles, I never hear from him again after he tells me the same story about having to contact the owner, I believe I caught him in a lie. read more

Buyer Beware - We purchased a 2018 Volvo XC90 in October of 2021 from this dealership. It looked great on the surface and we trusted that the inner workings were also in order since this is a reputable dealership and they said they do an extremely thorough inspection of the vehicle before selling. Cut to May 2022 - It's starting to get warm outside so we try and turn on the AC. It's not working. Maybe it needs AC fluid we thought, so we took it to a mechanic to fill the fluid. The AC worked great for about a week or so and then it stopped working again. After a couple more visits to the mechanic (TVG), we replaced the compressor and filled the Freon twice, to the tune of about $2,000. At that point, my husband reached out to the person who sold us the car at DLR Nordic to make them aware of the situation. They said that our Volvo warranty had just expired and refused to acknowledge that they sold us a car with a faulty AC issue. If there would have been a full inspection, this couldn't have been overlooked. And we never used the AC system until May of 2022 when it was immediately faulty! After the compressor was replaced and the Freon was filled, again 1-2 weeks later the AC stopped blowing cold again. We took it back to TVG who told us that the only other possible issue could be a faulty evaporator (which apparently is a known issue with this model + year). The problem is that they will have to take off the entire dash of the car even to diagnose this issue. If it is the evaporator, we were quoted anywhere from $5,000-$7,000 (YIKES) to repair. After the $2,000 we've already sunk into the problem, we simply did not have the money to do this diagnosis/fix. So we spent the whole of Summer 2022 in a very hot car with the windows rolled down (which isn't what I envisioned when buying a luxury vehicle, albeit a pre-owned one). We are coming up on another Summer with no AC, and now we have to decide whether to go forward with a 5-7K repair (with no guarantee that it will be fixed) or to trade-in or sell this vehicle (which will be close to impossible considering the AC issue). Overall this has been a pretty terrible experience and we are not planning on purchasing again from DLR Nordic or recommending it to anyone we know. Was looking for a safe, comfy, affordable car that would have some sort of guarantee, didn't want to buy from a private party. They delivered a beautiful, clean car, with excellent service, even changed out the gear shift cover that had become crackly (a Volvo issue in newer cars).. When our family's much loved 2001 S80 needed to be replaced, DLR Nordic came to mind. They specialize in well maintained, previously owned Volvos and have an excellent reputation. My wife and I called and arranged a time to drop by (with our 5 year old son and his booster seat) for a test-drive on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised not to encounter any high pressure sales tactics. They just copied our drivers licenses and off we went into the nearby hills to test a car. I wish I could remember the sales person's name, because she was very knowledgeable and straightforward about the cars they had for sale.
