Just had Dave and DLS Landscaping completely landscape our entire front yard. Large stones, trees, plants, tons of dirt and mulch. It's gorgeous. Dave and his crew are amazing. Meticulous, organized, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with on design. Cleaned up property when job was completed. Even had DLS install a clean out for our sewer system. After several years of standing water in our side yard and on the sidewalk in front of our house from 2 sump pumps, we had them combined and piped to the storm drain in front of our house. Dave's crew was punctual, efficient and even though they ran into a snag while putting the pipe under our sidewalk and our driveway, they persevered and still completed the work in a timely manner. WE could not be happier with the results. They will be putting in some new bushes to complete the job. Dave was knowledgeable about what bushes to put in based on the location and sun exposure. Best experience with a landscaper ever. Dave at DLS came out last year and did an evaluation on our backyard - it constantly had standing water and we were looking to regrade. He was upfront about not being able to do that for our yard because we didn't have enough slope. He quoted us for a personal drainage system. We had to pass last year, but call him up this year, was interested and ready to make a deposit. He honored the quote from last year (awesome!) and got the ball rolling right away. He was in constant communication with us about scheduling, the permit process, etc. His crew was always on time, worked hard, stayed for long hours to make sure the job was done in the amount of time quoted and kept everything as clean as they could. Was trying to rehab and sell a house, but the front and back yard were overgrown with every kind of tree/bush, and none that I even recognized. (This is before most of them started to bloom.) Their solution- on what should stay and what should go was perfect. They recognized what was an expensive tree and what should go. They just finished yesterday and it looks great, owner Dave was right on all his suggestions. The highly organized crew came out and the clean out in one day. I liked the care they took while trimming the trees so the branches wouldn't drop in the neighbors yards and and that they meticulously went around and blew back and collected any chips or leaves that ended up in the street or a neighbors yard. In 2014, DLS put in a brick patio on an uneven part of our lawn to make a useless space a really nice area for our freestanding outdoor fire place sitting area. The owner also added landscaping to surrounding areas and made some great recommendations that turned out well. I neglected to write a review due to procrastination. The other day a neighbor contacted me to say she loves our patio and wanted a referral, which prompted me to finally write about how well the work was done, how competitive the price, the timely manner of completion, and, lastly, how beautifully the patio has held up for over 3 years now. read more

Even though we only live less than 10 minutes away, they refused to service us because we live in Barrington. I find this a sign of poor customer service. I asked why and was only told because the owner has decided not to service anywhere in Barrington, which is a neighboring suburb of theirs. This raises some major red flags and makes me question why they are refusing a huge lot of customers so close by. It also feels quite discriminatory. Nightmare experience! Talked to them on October 8th to get them scheduled for a fall clean up the week of Halloween. We wanted the place to look good for the neighborhood festivities and were told that was no problem. We were sent a estimate and told we were good to go. When we followed up this week to see when they would be here, we started to get the run around and it wasn't until today that they told us they can't get to us this week. This was frustrating since we scheduled a while ago and now have to figure out a way to get it done in the next 24 hours by ourselves while I'm also 8 months pregnant.
