They did a few neighbors driveways. The finish looked good, and everyone was happy. I called and they got me an estimate pretty quick. The price quoted was fair so I had them seal coat and fill a few large cracks that seem to re-open. I think the crack filling looks thicker and more complete than past companies I have used. Best company out there... Larry (#847-264-0603) of Seal Kote in Lombard, IL. My nightmare began in 2016, after contacting several blacktop sealing "businesses" in 2016 & 2017; none returned my texts/emails/calls. Unbelievable! My driveway was always well maintained, getting sealed, annually, until 2016. Fast forward to 2018.....same problem....no responses from the "contractors". This is not the way to run a business....by ignoring customers! Then, I found Larry (#847-264-0603), of Seal Kote, in Lombard, IL. He immediately texted me and the driveway got done a few days later!!!! This will be the company I will always use and highly recommend. I used them last year, and they did a great job. It's worth it to me to pay more for a good job. Unfortunately that's not the case this year. While I did pay more, the job was splotchy and has streaks. It looks like it's not completely done. Contacted the owner, but there's been no effort to mitigate my dissatisfaction. read more

I have used this company for years with seal coating. I have referred many. I have never been treated so abominably from any company. I am telling everyone to NEVER use this company. It is a small business and I always like to support small businesses but not this one. Larry Priser is the owner. He does not stand behind the work that is being done. He hides behind his cell phone. I called and asked if they could come out and put some more seal coating over a crack. The driveway was just seal coated by this company. I have learned to be home when any company comes out. They came on a Saturday with no notification at all. The guy put something over the crack thst turned white. My driveway looked like a zebra. He filled a small dip in front of my driveway. This also turned white all around the dip. He did not leave a string, sign or any notification that the driveway was wet in these areas. I drove over the dip not knowing this. My tire turned the sidewalk in front of my driveway black and the garage floor which was newly speckled. The damage was horrific. I left many messages for Larry. Dont you think he should have come out to see this mess? Instead he hid behind his cell phone and never came out to see my driveway.Who in their right mind treats customers like this especially good customers. I gave him a week and nothing. I needed this to be fixed because I was having company. My front door is right by the garage door so the driveway, and sidewalk is very noticeable . I have never been so embarrassed. He has done nothing to correct this. He does not care about his customers. He does not care about the damage. He does not care how things look after his man was here. I recently had Express Sealcoating blacktop my driveway in Deerfield, IL because I received a postcard with my price ($122) I have been in this house for over 8 years and have never done any maintenance in that time. I have an asphalt driveway and a concrete car pad that hes settled and caused cracks. I called to confirm my price and schedule the work and the whole process was painless. Because of the weather they couldn't guarantee me a date (the norm) but did arrange for me to receive a call 24 hours before the work was done. I received that call on a Sunday night and on Monday morning I pulled my cars out of the garage. By 8:30am their team was cleaning my driveway, filling cracks and applying their sealcoat. They then put a rope across the footer of my driveway and were gone inside of 30 minutes. 24 hours later I took the rope down and pulled my cars back in the garage (FYI, call your local police department and tell them you plan on parking on the street that night). Anyway, my asphalt & concrete now have a matching coat of blacktop and my driveway looks nicer than it has since I have been in the house. read more

My family in Chicago, IL requested a quote from this company and the representative that was sent to our home used high-pressure tactics and threats to coerce us to agree to their business services. When we declined, they claimed there would be "citation" against us. This turned out to be false with clear misrepresentation on their behalf. Express Sealcoating definitely has some scheduling, staffing, and quality issues - but in the end, they seem to care about customer satisfaction, and I would use them again, for the right price. I ordered my sealcoating from receiving a card in the mail, just after I moved into my new place, and after several weeks, they finally scheduled me. I will skip the scheduling errors and no-show details; the day finally came when they showed to complete the work. Only one guy came and he was polite, but in a HURRY, sealing over dirt, vegetation, etc. He said the sealcoat would kill that stuff and present no problems. He explained that this was definitely a two-person job, but he would do it by himself. That was really too bad, because he missed a few things, and the cracks need to be sealed better than he had time or patience for, and the weeds he didn't take time to trim, survived without too much trouble. I will call Express Sealcoating out again in the Spring, and they can do it again, and hopefully do a better job, and offer the proper discount for a second try. read more

I used Seal-Kote a few weeks ago for my driveway - the crew did really sloppy work. I watched one worker get sealant on my paver brick patio and then get ushered away by another that didn't do much better. They had to come out twice to fix the mistakes but now I've also found it on my home's siding as well as the street gutter. It took them awhile to come to make repairs but they eventually did it so I'll give them an extra star for that. Maybe this is a good company for a big construction-sized job but their lack of attention to detail makes them a poor choice for residential work. read more

Scheduled two weeks ago, received call this past tues that sealcoat will be done on wed. so prepare accordingly. After 5pm on wed rec'd another call that because they were backed up we would be first on the list thurs morning. ( I wondered why they did not know this on tues , but I was understanding of their prob.) Thurs I called at 4 pm and again at 6pm because they never showed up. I left a message for a call back if they can not get to us . I called today, friday at 4:30 because I thought perhaps they might still be coming today?? A call back would be nice. I used Express sealcoat last year and had the same problem , took several days after their first call to me before they actually did the job . Guess I didn't learn my lesson from last year and got deceived by the postcard in the mail with the price this year. Don't bother with these guys, there are MUCH more reliable companies in the NW suburbs. read more

While the driveway was seal coated adequately, the repairs I asked for were completely ignored. When I asked about it Larry replied "oh I misunderstood that you wanted repairs". My text and phone conversation was very clear that I needed repairs. Completely ignored that but did ask if I wanted him to come back and give me an estimate for repair. My driveway has a brick paver border surrounding the whole driveway and there was not a drop of sealer on the bricks. The service was excellent and the guys were very professional. I received an ad in the mail offering to sealcoat my driveway. I called to schedule and was told they would call me back to tell me when it would be completed. I waited over three weeks and heard nothing. I called a second time and was told they would call me back and got no response. I called a third time and was told that the reason the job had not been completed was that it was never scheduled. She told me she would schedule me and it would be done in about a week. That was over two weeks ago and I've still heard nothing. No communication with customers and the person I talked to on the phone really didn't seem to care if it ever got done. I wasted a lot of time dealing with them without any results. read more

This is one of the worst companies to work with. Please beware. I think they have no ethics or customer service. Their job on our drive way was so poor quality that they put seal coat all over the edges of the driveway on the grass making their job look so sloppy. Later when we asked them to fix it they agreed, but came home played some tricks saying they'll fix and took the money to never show up again. I'd never use them again ever. read more

I used Seal-Kote Services for the first time only because they received a top rating in a Western Suburbs publication. I've used Lou D'Amico in Sons (out of Bensenville) in the past and I was very happy with them. To my surprise, they did not trim the edge of the driveway that butts up against the grass, and there was a large portion of the driveway that had spider cracks and they did not fill them prior to seal-coating. They also blew off about six cedar shakes from our side porch and, if it wasn't for my neighbor seeing it, they would have tried to hide it. The most important thing is when I returned an email from Michelle regarding the service, voicing my complaints (via email), I never received a response. After about 10 days, I sent her a second email. Again, no response. They got paid at the time they did the job, but they refused to acknowledge me afterwards. Lou D-Amico & Sons was about $20 more than Seal-Kote Services and I will return to them going forward. Terrible business practices and quality of work. Lesson learned.... read more
