The customer service rep quoted $20 fee for the technician and $45 to unlock the door. Upon arrival the tech asked my husband if he wanted him to change the lock for $85 my husband declined because it was too expensive. The tech proceed to drill a hole in our lock and then gave my husband a bill for $195 plus $20 service call. We were floored by the cost. My husband told the tech we were quoted a much lower rate and the tech said for us to call the rep. My husband called the rep only for her to say she needs to confirm the services with the tech and give a call back. It's been 3 hours and no call and when we call the number back no one picks up. Poor customer service and scamming of customers.

The locksmith from the Lock Doctor came and just bent a piece of metal in the mechanism that had become warped in the cold weather. Needless to say, the bill was nowhere near $895. If the locksmith you are using wants to be paid upfront, jacks up the price after doing the work, or works out of a fake address, you should beware. The first locksmith I had called had an address at 14th and Park roads right around the corner from me, but I later went by there and there was no locksmith anywhere on the block. Postscript: someone noted that the locksmith I recommend doesn't have a specific address, which is kind of funny given my comments above. I believe he works only on-site and doesn't maintain a physical store front (as scammer locksmith I used first fraudulently advertised). He lives in Logan Circle, so that represents the area from which he works.

That approach came across as intimidation rather than guidance. When it became clear the project could not be completed, I was still charged the full price. When I raised my concern, the response was dismissive and delivered in a raised tone of voice. As a young woman alone in that situation, I felt intimidated and taken advantage of. They knew the job had not been completed successfully, yet I was still required to pay in full, which made the experience feel unfair and exploitative. Afterward, I learned the wiring issue could have been solved in a very simple way. Instead, I was left with unnecessary damage, had to clean up the entire mess by myself, and now face additional costs to repair what was left behind. Cleaning up on my own not only made the sting of the experience worse but also felt degrading. I am glad this company may work well for smaller, straightforward projects. However, if your request requires anything more complex, be cautious. Even if the work is not successful, you will still be charged in full. Locksmith came quickly, but he was very grumpy and rude. Once the locksmith looked at our lock and attempted to open it he informed my husband and it was very hard to open and he could not open it until we paid an additional $40.00, which I am unsure of why we hard to pay more money. The locksmith still could not get the lock open so he had to break our lock in order for us to get into our home. It's my understanding from my rental office that once a locksmith breaks your lock that they usually replace and rekey your lock for you. This person left our lock broken and told us that if we are willing to call him directly he will charge us separately. So I called the office told them what happened the operator was extremely apologetic about what the locksmith did and sent another person who was much nicer and the replaced and rekeyed our locks for us with no additional charge. My experience started rocky but I can forgive a rude employee as long as management recognizes the problem and works to correct the issue. I recommend this company.

I have a 2005 Merz, a great little car I've bought for my teenage son. One day, the key died. I'm…read morenot complaining, it was nearly 20 years old. But I was shocked when the dealership asked for several hundreds to make a new key. I would have to leave the car there, they would "test" it, then program a new key etc. etc. I forgot an exact amount, but the quote was in $500-700 range. I called my (great) mechanic who specializes in German cars, he said he would search aftermarket. The news weren't great either. Something like $250 only for the fob. Plus programming. Phew. Then a friend recommended the US Locksmith LLC, and we hit a lottery. Yonni came to our house and it took 30-40 minutes for him to program the key for a fraction of the cost, and it was a GENUINE Mercedes key, not even aftermarket! And it was a pleasure to meet Yonni and chat with him, he's a great guy. The key has been working perfectly, and it's been several months. Highly recommend!

We had a challenging situation, he arrived first thing the next morning; no one else even answered my call. He changed out all of our locks and deadlocks within an hour and a half.
