Fried catfish, hush puppies, mac-n-cheese, candies yams, collard greens, black eyed peas
    Michelle H.

We were in the mood for an authentic catfish fry, and we were not disappointed. In fact, we were thrilled with the entire meal! The catfish was perfectly cooked--crisp on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside. The hush puppies were outstanding, as were all the delicious sides we tried. While I loved the collards and mac and cheese, my partners were most delighted with the candied yams, and we all agreed that they were some of the best black-eyed peas we'd ever had. Oh, and the fried okra was amazing! The staff was super friendly, and the service was quick. What a great place!

The food was delicious, and the service was amazing! Very friendly staff, and the dining experience was great! The setup inside the restaurant is warm and inviting, music was great! Didn't have to wait an hour for my food, definitely recommend!

This is the kinda place I miss living in the south for. The food is excellent, especially for me was the black eyed peas. It's all well seasoned and they give you enough to fill you up twice. But more importantly is the amazing staff, the woman at the counter was a wonderful help. I also have to mention their excellent selection of hot sauces. Anyway, I'll for sure be back.

Walking in, you're greeted by old age hip hop tunes comfy chairs and DELICIOUS smells of some good grub. I love no nonsense, good home cooking places like this. I have always driven by this establishment, stopped by and I'm so glad I did. I was greeted by warm smiles and assurance that the food is delicious. We just need a bit of soul food to warm our hearts. Service: Is top notch, I let Marie help me choose my dinner as I had no clue where to start. She was very warm and inviting. Everything looked so damn good on the menu lol. I opted for the catfish which comes with TWO sides. I decided on mac n cheese and red beans and rice for my sides which also comes with cornbread. You can't beat the price of $24 for that meal. Ambiance: I'm currently sitting on a comfy chair waiting for my meal to be cooked. Compliments to the chef (Vicky) by the way! I love the contrast of the red chairs against the barn like vibes. Food. Honest to god, this is the best catfish I we had. I can't taste the oil whatsoever, and that crunch of the batter is perfection. But I can still taste the fish which is nice and flaky. That mac n cheese is THICC with all the best flavor in the world. The red beans and rice is so delicious, not overly mushy. That cornbread is perfection.

    Fantastic catfish, greens, and okra

Fabulous! My son discovered this place so we had try. We got the catfish, greens, and fried okra. It was stunningly good! We will be back.

Ive been almost all over the state (Wa) for work. I grew up in Compton as a youth. This is the first place I've ever eaten that brings me back home! Ordered the catfish, chicken wings, collard greens, and hush puppies.... no lie I feel like I kid back in my youth!! My only question in my quest for Soul Food is why don't any restaurants serve ham Hawks and beans ? But this restaurant id would drive the 3 hours again to give them my recipe. Of coarse for an exchange on ho2 they mastered the fish and collards!!

All the hot sauces your heart could want.

Had to drive all the way to Tacoma but at least we didn't have to fly to Louisiana to get great catfish and shockingly good fried okra.

I ordered PAC SOUTH omelette. No green onions, chose hash browns instead of toast and had side biscuit and gravy. Unfortunately the hash browns were really crackly dry. Maybe I should've had the red potatoes instead. The Omelette was surprisingly good. The sweetness of the pork with the bbq sauce was fascinating and tasty. If I had it again I'd ask to add a squirt of bbq inside or ask for more sauce on top. Hubby ordered the Shrimp and Grits. They were great and better than most places we've had them out. Hubby crumbled his side of bacon on top. They were Creamy, savory, cheesy and served piping hot. Jenny said sometimes people ask to add andouille sausage or catfish on top. Last - OMG that was a THICK biscuit! It was super dense. The gravy was delicious. But the biscuit takes up most the room on the plate. So my gravy to biscuit ratio was off. I still took half my omelet and half my biscuit in a to go box. Left the hash browns. They have BIG portions. Amazing atmosphere and service. If you come in from the front door there is a small counter seating area as well as booths and tables. Beyond that main room there is more space in the back. Keeping this place on the list for sure!!!

I tell my non-Asian friends that they should leave an Asian restaurant if you don't see any Asians inside. I am happy to say we were the odd ducks in this place! Love me some legit soul food. The menu is straightforward. We ordered at the counter. The food is brought to our table. The food took quite a while with big crowds coming in after us. I suspect they cook in batches as multiple groups received food at the same time. It was mostly self-service (utensils, water) until the restaurant quieted down, then we saw servers cleaning tables, etc. The Food: Combo Dinner with two sides, $26 - 5 Stars The combo plat offers two meat choices. I chose the wings and catfish. The wings are sizable and plump. Highly recommend. The catfish was a thinner cut and a bit dryer. I liked the very thin breading on the catfish, not greasy, and it tasted good with Tabasco. For sides, both the collard greens and fried okra are excellent. In fact, I say the okra is perfection! The little corn bread is just right for me. I thought the corn bread has good flavor while hubby said it was too dry. Catfish Dinner with two sides, $24 - 3.5 Stars Hubby complained the catfish was too thin. He's not a Tabasco person, so that doesn't help. I gave him two wings to calm him down. Lol. He loved the hush puppies the best. They are huge with a wonderful crisp. I agree with him! He thought the yams are too sweet; they do look sweet in the liquids but isn't that want yams are intended to be? I think he just needs to order differently in the future. Note they have a 3.5% service charge for credit card purchases. See line on the menu photo.

The good to the last drop sauce had bold flavors although quite salty, just perfect for dipping the focaccia in. Unc's Wing was equally endearing: rubbed in a 13-spice blend, with perfect crispness and plump, juicy flesh beneath the coating. Butter-basted cabbage was a rare treat: basted with butter that accentuates the sweetness of caramelized cabbage. Miso butter sauce a great match. The drink I ordered was less intriguing: Kinfolk (bourbon, Jamaican, rum, Cynar, and pecan liqueur) was bourbon heavy, very balanced nonetheless just not memorable. The chocolate truffle was the only item we did not enjoy: it had hard shell and very dense filling.
