The food was good, but the service was really poor, which therefore made the already high price unjustifiable, to me. We waited an hour and a half after placing our orders for apps and entrees, only for them to bring every single dish we ordered to our table at the same time. So by time we could get to the entree, it was cold. Our waitress was polite though, and took off my friend's drink as an apology for the inconvenience, but still. I personally didn't find the food extraordinary enough to want to deal with that again. read more

My friend and I went here for a dinner catch up & sat at the bar while we waited for our table. The place is very cozy and vibey. From the moment we walked in our bartender Dre was extremely hospitable and exceptionally kind. A very cool place that can be deceiving. You walk I'm to the bar and it has a cool.happy vibe. There are two dining rooms, one with an intimate setting and the other completely lively. We sat at the bar and we're welcomed opening drinks of Blacker the Berry and Side Piece. Both very interesting and balanced. All top shelf spirits and a few can be made "spirit free". The tuna crispy small plate and the smashed burger were flavorful and worth a trip back. The staff is very friendly and helpful. read more

Long overdue review. I came for an earlier dinner on a weeknight with a reservation for two people. It was pretty dead when I was there, but this place has a vibe and I think it would be a great spot to come on the weekends for drinks and good pre-party spot. Front area has the bar and is pretty small, but there is an area in the back with tables and booths. The food was surprisingly good, so definitely not just a drink spot. There's negative reviews about it being expensive, which it is, but honestly I think it's pretty standard for a trendy Manhattan cocktail lounge. I ordered: -Tuna Crispy Treats: comes with two that are good sized. These were pretty good - I would order again. -Smashed Burger: this was surprisingly delicious. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. The burger is quite small, especially for the price. Fries reminded me of McDonald's fries, which I'm not complaining about. I also ordered an alcohol free drink - can't remember which one, but it was good. Overall, it's worth checking out! read more

"Peeling back the onion" Showed up here without a reservation on a Saturday night at 11 pm with 2 friends. No wait and got escorted to a nice table immediately. So many different rooms! I had such an amazing dinner last night at Do Not Disturb. We were seated in the back which was like a sun room with beautiful green everywhere and had a positive vibe. My first cocktail was the Side Piece which was a tequila base cocktail and was so well balanced. We started off with the Salmon crispy rice , Kale Caesar salad, Mac & cheese and Brussel sprouts. Literally all the starters were amazing but my favorite was the Salmon crispy rice. As for my main I ordered their very delicious Smashed Burger & Fries. The bacon jam that they add to the smashed burger made you not want to share because it's that good. My second cocktail was the Millie Rock which was also a tequila base drink but it reminded me of a spicy margarita and was very much enjoyable. I definitely recommend this place and plan to go back! read more

Was in the area late night with my friend and yelped for places that were open. Randomly selected DND, and boy, was I happy! We had no idea it was a speak easy or that the vibes, decor, drinks, food, and service would be this great, especially since it was late night. We were warmly greeted by the host, who I must say, had style (me gusta)! Though we didn't have reservations, we were quickly seated and greeted by our server. She seemed to know every detail of every item on the menu and made great recommendations. She was attentive, engaging, and quick with our orders. I had the pecan crusted Halibut, which was probably the most tender, well seasoned halibut I've had in a long time. On the first bite I almost melted into my chair. If heaven was halibut, then it was on my plate. Yes, it was just that good! My friend had the muscles and enjoyed them. The cocktails and mocktails were perfection! Give me more! Being that we didn't make our way to the spot on our trip last year, and were staying in Hell's Kitchen this time around, I wanted us to check out. The only challenge was actually finding it. If you're seeking out this gorgeous speakeasy. You aren't going to find it through some darkened alleyway or non-marked door of a building outside. No. You need to check the website and read between the lines of it being located within a sushi bar on West 46th Street. I could tell you the name, but what fun would that be? Figure that part out. But once you figure out how to access, the staff at said-sushi bar will direct you to the back of the restaurant to wheee you will see a sign for the bar and a stairwell to take you up to the second floor. Once you reach and look around, it looks at first you have reached a dead end between the emergency exit you see and a door that looks locked. There is a black curtain in the darkened hallway you need to notice and peer through. And alas, you will discover the bar that is Bar 369 Miroku. Once you have been checked for ID, and your party number, you are escorted into the small, darkly-lit enclave with plush decor, a bit of a Rolling Stones theme with its large poster hung in the back and artwork perched next to the bar shelving. It's an intimate and relaxed energy that makes it perfect to enjoy one of the Japanese-inspired cocktails on an evening after dinner. The hideaway offers a creative mix of craft cocktail options such as the Ichitaki Spritz (a variation of the Aperol spritz with sake in it), which was quite delightful that I enjoyed immensely within the dark lounge surroundings. The GM/host Jojo was rude, antagonistic, combative. Singlehandedly ruined our night. We arrived 30 minutes early to our reservation time (815pm) in hopes to have a drink at the bar. He greets us with a condescending tone 'you guys are super early. I'll find you when the table is ready.' Over an hour goes by (now 45minutes past our dinner reservation time) and he is nowhere to be found. I ask a bar waitress if she can check in on our reservation which she kindly does. She returns and asks if we checked in with the host which I confirmed. When the host finally returned I approached him and asked what the status of our table was. With ZERO empathy and ZERO remorse he dismisses me and tells me he's working on it (while rolling his eyes). He subsequently returns to our bar seating area and ridiculed me about my tonality when I approached him. My wife and I paid for our drinks and walked out. The venue looked great and the food looked promising, unfortunately it was all spoiled by the GM. read more

I found this place on social media, and I had been wanting to check it out for a while -- finally made it here! First of all, the atmosphere is amazing. It feels like a hidden gem that you almost want to keep secret, but at the same time you want to tell everyone about it. I visited this restaurant with my girlfriend and we had an amazing experience. Bathtub axolotls...cool, should the mermaid maybe have a face...I'll let you decide. - The private reservation room was really nice for large groups and I liked that they had plenty of bathroom options. - The french fries were top tier, well seasoned with a solid crisp. - The ceviche hamachi was delicious and somewhat reminiscent of Peruvian ceviche. It consisted of some sort of yellowtail and shrimp. - The drink options were unique and the happy hour prices were a great value. I tried the Deja Vu, the Souka, and the Emerald Dream. Deja Vu was the best of the three, with a unique blend of lychee, matcha, and white rum. The Souka was strong and felt like a good answer to cap off the night. The Bad: - There were a lot of mistakes made during ordering and it happened from the very start. To name a few: I ordered the Deja Vu drink at the bar and then my drink was randomly given to another member of our party who did not order a drink. My friend ordered a hamachi ceviche and instead was given a seafood ceviche which he couldn't have due to allergies. Another member of the party had ordered a drink and had to keep reminding them about it, even though I ordered a drink after him and received that drink before him. My entree of squid ink pasta was completely forgotten about and then to add insult to injury, they gave me a lobster pasta which was not what I ordered. They let us keep the lobster pasta on the house, but forgetting an entree is just unacceptable. - The wait times between ordering drinks and entrees was obscenely long. Drinks should not take over a half hour to be received and the entrees took over an hour to be served. - Food quality: I didn't receive an entree and ended up cancelling my order after the mistake was made but the rest of the party did not seem to think of the entrees as worth writing home about. - Service: Look, I don't normally pay attention to service and will admit that I had thoroughly read reviews on Yelp prior to eating here...and everything that was said was true. Our servers did not seem to know which drinks, appetizers, or entrees belonged to which guest. Servers would come into the room and be like "who ordered this". I'm sorry, but any restaurant at this price tier needs to have waiters that at least write the orders down, this is just downright unprofessional. Overall consensus: The looks and the vibes of Aquarelle are aesthetically pleasing and really add to the potential it has as a seafood restaurant. I would like to say that I can envision this as a place to go for casual drinks and light seafood appetizers. However, I can't in good faith recommend the restaurant until they invest more time and effort into the staff. At a minimum, the staff needs to introduce themselves to the guests, WRITE DOWN ORDERS, and provide good and timely service (or at least provide an ETA and check-ins). For the prices that are being charged, the least that can be done is good service for food that, quite frankly is not that great, especially considering the wait times. I hope that Aquarelle can improve, but at this time I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Built as United States Lightship #115 , it served as a floating lighthouse guarding the dangerous Frying Pan Shoals 30 miles off Cape Fear, North Carolina, from 1930 to 1965. It completed a wartime stint stationed at the Panama Canal. The vessel is listed on both the New York State and National Registers of Historic Places. It is docked alongside another historic vessel, the FDNY fireboat John J. Harvey. Our food, cocktails, servers and company were top notch. The view and the venue were great and we couldn't have picked a better night.
