Not far from the Theater District is a small tucked a couple of steps down from the sidewalk is Hold Fast - the restaurant reminded us of a European restaurant from a size and how it's a bit tucked away. The staff was excellent in all respects. They were attentive and funny. They have a good selection of beers and even some special local beers, which I really appreciated. They have a few dinner specials and a good selection on the regular menu. I had the vegi burger with fries and my wife had one of the specials which was a BBQ pulled pork with fries. They were both very good, the sandwiches had very good flavor and the fries yum. Check out the bathrooms when you're there - kind of fun.

We continue to love it here, just a cozy, dim, good music & welcoming staff type of place that happens to be on Restaurant Row.. which is super convenient to any local show or event. Call to make a reservation, even for 4:30 -- great menu, good taps & handcrafted cocktails. Lee always has the Duck Confit Carnitas. Today I enjoyed the cauliflower chop. Perfect crinkle sweet potato fries. Right now they have a delicious, not sweet at all Ginger Cider from Burlington from Vt. Always a good meal with great music & vibe.

Spacious and chill bar with surprisingly yummy bar food! The duck confit was delicious, tender and flavorful. Our waiter came around the perfect number of times, exactly when we needed him. Drinks were standard. I definitely recommend trying out this place, and would come back

Cuisine: 6 Service: 7 Decor: 6 Value: 7 Overall: 6 Really had high hopes for this restaurant/bar with all the rave reviews. Unfortunately, my experiences here have just been slightly above average. I would say the service is decent. On my recent visit, the drinks were poured quickly and priced reasonably. However, the food was a disappointment. Hold Fast Wings (6/10) - No batter. Crispy skin. Too bad the meat was somewhat dry because they cut the meat to make sure it's fully cooked, which causes s. BBC Dipping sauce was okay. Fried Burrata (6/10) - More like fried mozzarella ball, the inside was not creamy like a burrata should be. The best part of the dish was the accompanying salad and its vinaigrette. West Side Chicken Sandwich (5/10) - The chicken thigh should have been tender, but it was sliced too thin and overcooked on the grill. The basil mayo was a delicious sauce and the brioche was fluffy. Too bad the main attraction was terrible. Sweet potato fries were done well.m though. I wanted to like this place, therefore coming back to give it another try. Unfortunately, it just didn't delivery a memorable meal again.

We came for dinner the last night in New York and this was one of the best restaurants I've been to in the city. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff was phenomenal. We sat at the bar and our server/bartender was amazing. Gave us great recommendations let us try stuff. The food was great. We enjoyed our charcuterie board and our entrées. The steak was cooked. Great and dessert was amazing. Would highly recommend trying this restaurant

The food and drinks are amazing! Came here and sat at the bar for a while. We got the crinkle fries, chicken bites, dark and stormy, and the endless summer drinks! Everything was stellar. Can't wait to come back soon.

Hold Fast was a chill spot in the middle of the bustling neighborhood with a great vibe inside and super-friendly servers who made our night as we grabbed a quick bite before a show. You can tell this spot has a bunch of regulars as the crew was chatting amongst people as they were taking orders and making drinks. That laid-back friendly atmosphere feels great amongst the hustle of the busy city. For drinks, we tried the seasonal pumpkin espresso martini which was pure perfection. Not too strong in pumpkin or overpowering with espresso, it was a perfect fall blend with a shot of energy to start the evening. We started with the fried burrata, which was exactly as expected, I'm not sure I'm into fried burrata, nothing wrong with it, but it didn't have the same punch as a 'normal' burrata appetizer or of fried mozzarella. Try it - because it's different - but know it might leave you hanging. The salad that came with the burrata had a next level dressing, not sure what it was, but wow. The tacos were lovely, between our group we tried all of them. Not sure there was a clear winner because they were all good - I think, though, the tuna was stellar.

Came here on a quiet weekday for drinks and had a great time. The place feels so cozy and the service was incredibly kind and friendly. It made you feel right at home. It was a perfect spot to catch up with a few friends. I had a couple great cocktails including the Opening Act which featured a bold shandy flavor alongside flavor liquors with strawberry and lemongrass. Their espresso martini includes house-made cold brew that is so good! Only had some chips and guac but will def be back to try more food and their beer/sour selection.

This bar was fun! Pretty average food and drinks with a great laid back vibe. Perfect place to play cards with friends! For drinks I got a Hugo spritz and a "killer" bees knees (aka a spicy bees knees). They were both good. My main concern with drinks is whether they'll be too sweet, and neither of them were. For food we split the fried burrata. It was okay. Pretty much exactly what you'd expect our friend burrata at a pub haha.

We stopped in after we finished our Broadway play, Hell's Kitchen. It wasn't over crowded and we were able to get seated at a nice table. The bar was long and the music was great. Our waiter was so friendly and the service was fantastic. The food was fresh and tasted great. It met all of my expectations. Even the kids enjoyed everything and the prices were very fair. Don't miss this stop. Worth it. Nice place to gather and chat with friends.

Hold Fast is a brunch oasis amidst the tourist-heavy Theater District and welcome respite from the slow-walking, up-gazing masses. The vibes are chill, the service is next level friendly, and the food is good and decently priced. It also boasts an excellent draught beer selection and helpful bartenders to guide you. Plus the brunch drink specials are sneaky good ($8 Blood Mary's? In the year of our Lord 2024? Incredible). For food, HF has all the classic bar offerings. My pick is the hot wings. They come in a great (and criminally underrated) Alabama hot sauce.

Ask the Community - Hold Fast Kitchen & Spirits

What time does the kitchen usually close?

They close at 2AM so I'm guessing kitchen closes at 1 or 1:30 AM.

    Is there outdoor seating?

Yes - they have a pretty outdoor structure (check out their insta). That street is blocked off from most traffic too so it's a great outdoor spot.

Is this place 21+? Coming to celebrate my daughters 13rh bday, staying just out of Times Square. If there's food is it all ages?

It's pretty much a bar with a small food menu. There were kids there when we visited. You can probably fine a better venue for kids. This place is great for adults.

    When is happy hour?

Hi Ken.. We offer Happy Hour every day from the time we open till 8pm. We’d love to have you join us one of these days. Cheers!

It was dark when we entered the coffee shop but an ajar door gave way to the bar. The decor is a homage to the works of Nikola Tesla, which can be seen in the subtle electric theme throughout the space and the naming of the cocktails. The space isn't too large - the bar and stools take up most of the space but they also have some booths/tables. The place looks great. The cocktail menu is very creative - I got one of their seasonal mixes that was actually two drinks in one. The main cocktail was meant to be sipped first and they provided a small glass of beer to be sipped after. The name escapes me but it was very good. Since we had cocktails at dinner, we only stayed for one round. Service was good, and overall I enjoyed my time at Patent Pending. I would definitely return to explore more of their menu.

We walked in without a reservation around 6:20 p.m., and they were able to accommodate us at a shared table until 7:15. The menu surprised me a bit. Since I associated the address with Eleven Madison Park, I wasn't expecting to see items like wings stuffed with sausage, which were done in partnership with Jungsik. We ordered those along with the mushroom burger and asked them to cut the burger in half for us. The cocktail menu was creative and a little intimidating, with unconventional ingredients like cream cheese and green curry. I went with a fruity Hendrick's-based drink, and my friend ordered the spicy green curry martini. Both were good. Mine didn't taste very strong, but it also wasn't overly sweet because there was enough bitterness to balance it out. The green curry martini was more adventurous but still worked. Service was mixed. There was a woman standing near us, so we tried ordering food with her, but she seemed hesitant to come over. Maybe she wasn't a server or was newer. For drinks, she brought over someone more seasoned, who quickly helped guide us based on our preferred taste profiles. Her suggestions were very good. The mushroom burger was the highlight for me. It was a little salty, but the crispy mushroom and soft bun were a great combination. I honestly wished I had more than half. The wings were okay. They were crispy on the outside and juicy inside, but coated in a Dorito-like powder that made them very messy. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd come back, especially for the mushroom burger.
