Do not go there for inspections. First time my wife went, they charged her $485 and all they needed to do was replace a $0..50 fuse. I decided to go the second time and they tried telling me I needed $850 of to pass inspection. Didn't believe a word they said so I took it to another place, passed with flying colors. read more

I never believed that women get taken advantage of at auto shops until I walked into Doc Auto. There's no reason I should walk in for an inspection and be told I need to pay almost $2,000, with $900 of that needed to "pass." A different, reputable shop told me that was not the case at all. Doc Auto had the decency to show an older gentleman photos of his vehicle and even the opportunity to walk back and see what needed repair. But they had no photos to show me, nor did they ask if I wanted to see it. Because they lied, there was nothing wrong with my vehicle and it did not need almost $2,000 in repairs. Yes, the vehicle is older, but it is not faulty. They lied to my face and had the audacity to not mark the issue on the inspection document. They should honestly be ashamed of themselves. read more

WARNING: DO NOT USE UNLESS YOU WANT DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR VEHICLE! I use to this shop for years until I took my new Honda Pilot SUV in there for a tire rotation. When I picked it up, there was a 4in scratch on the steering wheel!!! I called them and went in ASAP as it happened. They (including the owner) denied all responsibility stating "There is no way one of our technicians could have done that." (Meanwhile, a technican walking out of the garage had a ring on and the women at the front desk who moves the vehicles had a couple rings on each hand and 2in long nails.) When you drop off your $45K+ vehicle or ANY vehicle for that matter, you should get it back the exact way they you left it. Not to incur damage!!! read more

The worst experience ever. DOC Auto Claims that they work on classic cars. I brought my 1974 Cadillac Eldorado for some timing issues because it was running a little rough but otherwise it was running ok after putting a new carburetor on it. They said the new carburetor is not good and needs to be replaced. They charged me $842 for a new carburetor plus $347 for labor. Only to tell me now the car does not start now and it needs timing adjustments that they do not know how to do. So now my car is disabled and much worst than when it brought it over. I had to tow my car back home and paid them $1294. Now that's bad business. The Mechanic John said that was above his level, But did not mention that when I first spoke with him. that is so unfair and now I have to find a true mechanic so I can tow my beautiful car to. Warning to everyone do not take your car to DOC Auto they have no clue on how to fix cars and overcharged me double for a carburetor, which I go for $299 but they charged $842!! read more

My truck spent another weekend at Doc Auto on Chatham Heights. After promising me daily updates, this evening I called again. After being on hold for nearly 5 minutes I was told the mechanic was still working on it and no update was available. Remember this truck has been there for nearly 5 months! They replaced the transmission once with a defective rebuilt and now they have to replace it again. But apparently there is no rush since they received the replacement on December 12th 2022. This is apparently the first attempt to install the replacement. that's almost a month. They promise, for what it's worth, to update me tomorrow!!! They also tell me that they warrantee the replacement for 12 months. Might I add the warranty may expire before I see my truck again!!!! More to follow read more

If I could give less than one star to this company I would. I work at a local hospital and we received fliers that Doc Auto was offering free oil changes to all healthcare workers. I called today and was told it was only for the week the flier came out but they were running a special of $35.98 for the same service. What a come on! No where in the flier did it indicate a timeframe for this special. Other businesses are offering healthcare workers specials that are continuing until the pandemic is over or, at least, is upfront with their expiration date. read more

Went there for a Va safety inspection was there 1 hour 43 mins ! Then I got failed for some very petty things .Marked on the fail sheet sheet as other lamp. The little sensor was stuck on the emergency brake that lights it up when pulled . On the handy 522 dollar estimate sheet was put needed to pull my center console inspect wire cluster ! I fix it in less than 30 sec failed for brakes and rotor that is currently under review . Failed for a repair part I bought at the auto parts store That was not in malfunction or broke . When I was upset I was there for almost two hours to find two things marked on the fail sheet they acted way less than professional ! read more
