10 oz Chimichurri Steak with truffle fries and garlic aoli
    Portia C.

I came here with husband for dinner and a great time! Alayna was our server and gave awesome suggestions. I had the chimichurri steak and my husband had the filet mignon. We finished it off with a slice of key lime pie and chocolate cake. For my first time in Chicago this was a great meal to start with. Thanks Alayna!

Ordered three dishes for three adults, simply grilled salmon $33, West Coast steak sandwich $30, Chinese chicken salad $20. Grilled salmon was quite impressive, very delicious. Steak sandwich was good too. The Chinese chicken salad came with sliced chicken cutlet, I was surprised that chicken cutlet was at room temperature instead of temperature hot. It was crowded, we waited about 15 minutes to be seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And it was noisy, needed to raise voices for conversation.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I wasn't very impressed with Doc B's. We came in for a group outing, and for the price point I expected both faster service and better execution. The food took a while to come out, and when it arrived it just did not have the flavor or energy I was hoping for. We did try the candied bacon, and while it was an interesting take, it ended up being pretty forgettable compared to similar versions at other restaurants. It felt like it needed a stronger glaze or a better balance of sweet and savory to really stand out. I ordered the Dragon Burger, which sounded great on the menu, but it was underwhelming. The seasoning was mild, the heat was almost nonexistent, and the toppings never really came together. It felt like a dish that could be spiced up and pushed a lot further, especially at this price point. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space itself is nice with that polished River North vibe, and the staff was friendly, but overall the experience didn't match the cost or the hype.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Might give it another chance someday, but this visit was just okay.

Stopped by for late dinner at downtown Chicago and found this casual restaurant located near Nordstrom. The food was pretty good, I didn't love it but it was ok. Just not something I would want regularly but occasionally it is fine. The service was prompt and friendly, [[HIGHLIGHT]]restaurant was lively and full.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Went to lunch here. The GPS sent us through the mall. We were lost for a bit. We finally found it and I'm so glad we did. There were 3 of us and we all ordered a different salad. We ordered the knife and fork, tuna, and the Caesar. We also do a smash cheese burger. Everything was really good. The service was good. The place was nice and in a good area for lunch while shopping. I will be coming back for sure.

I was in Chicago for the ace hardware show. This is my first trip here. One of salesman suggested this place for our first dinner. I started with a lemon drop martini with vanilla vodka. It was delicious The truffle fries were very good. I ended up getting the chicken kabobs which were tasty. Our server Arianna was very attentive. She kept our drinks full. The Cinnamon Toast Crunch cheesecake was ok. The bathrooms were clean too.

Comparing to other spots downtown with the similar bar and burger menu I would say this spot would be a skip for me next time. We got the candied bacon as our appetizer. It looks good but after having 1 piece it's a bit overwhelmingly sweet with nothing to cut the sweetness. The burger was not good. The patties were slightly overcooked and dry. The sweet potato fries were very limp and were not crunchy at all. The service was fine. She only really took our orders and gave us our food. Payment we had to do ourselves at our table via QR code. The ambiance is okay. They were pretty busy on Saturday. The bathroom was low on toilet paper and the line was pretty long.

Service was nice, menu looks amazing. I only wanted a light bite, and this was amazing. Would definitely go back

Wedge burger + sweet potato fries

Stopped by for a quick dinner on a recent Chicago trip. We were able to get seated immediately as a party of 3 on Saturday night, around 8pm. The vibe of this restaurant is definitely a bit more casual than some of the other restaurants in River North - there's a bar section, and a mix of table/booth seating. I think it would be a great spot to watch sporting events. I opted to try the wedge burger with sweet potato fries as a side (for the burger you can choose your own side, and there are various other options such as onion rings, salad, regular fries, etc). Burger was decent size, and cooked well temperature wise (medium). Sweet potato fries were crispy. However a common theme I noticed across the food was that everything seemed a bit underseasoned - burger patty, sweet potato fries, and even the bit of salmon which I tried from someone else's dish. Could have done with a bit more salt for my taste. Service was decent, our waiter was friendly but you could also tell they were pretty busy in here. Even so we were checked up on multiple times throughout the meal, which was great. I don't think the food was anything special but not a bad spot to drop in for a burger.

We had a great experience, largely thanks to Marco's kindness and attentiveness throughout our visit. He was welcoming, helpful, and made sure everything was taken care of seamlessly. The chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and satisfying. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was quick, and the overall vibe was relaxed and enjoyable, especially since it wasn't crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My boyfriend and I will definitely be back!!!!

This is a good casual spot for dinner. They have a menu that can easily please everyone's tastes from appetizers to salads to pasta to rice bowls to burgers, and more. I ordered the CA salad with chicken and salmon and the Thai sesame vinaigrette. Everything was great except the chicken was really dry. The chicken parma was probably the best dish. The rice bowl was a bit soggy. The best thing about this is the check out system where we can all scan a QR and pay for our individual meals. I've never seen this before and it makes it a great hang out spot as a result. Happy Hour and drink menu available also. Casual. Please come and create your own adventure.

The Number Six and loaded potato

This was a perfect spot for a casual sit down meal with good food and service. My husband loved the turkey burger. I really enjoyed the chicken number six sandwich (basically fried chicken sandwich with pickles and sauce) with a loaded baked potato. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice atmosphere and loved the convenience of paying at the table with a QR code when we were ready to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would recommend.

First of all, if I'm ever in Chicago, Doc B's will be seeing me! Food, drinks ambiance and service were all A+. Came here for happy hour on my girlfriend's birthday and we were not disappointed. The Candied bacon... they should call it bacon candy because that's what it tasted like and I'm not mad at it. Most original candied bacon I can say that I've had. The Oven Roasted Teriyaki Chicken Wings were delicious as well and came with a very healthy portion. That's how wings should be served in my opinion ‍. The drinks were also delicious and came out fairly quickly. As my lady was looking down at her phone, I mouthed "it's her birthday" to the waiter and he understood the assignment and brought us a HUGE slice of cake (for free.99). Amazing service (closed some of the door in to make sure we wouldn't get cold) Ambiance is great for a date or group link up!

    Any parking suggestions?

Use ParkWhiz or a similar app to find cheap parking nearby. I usually am able to find something around $10 bucks within 5 min walking distance. Saves a lot of aggravation searching for metered parking

We ordered the venison burger and, honestly, I was hesitant at first because I was worried it might be too gamey. However, our server did a great job explaining what to expect, and she was absolutely right. The venison patty was juicy, flavorful, and exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and efficient throughout our meal. They also have an impressive selection of signature cocktails. I didn't end up trying one because the drink I was interested in sounded a bit too strong for lunch, but it's definitely given me a reason to come back later for drinks. Overall, I left as a very happy customer and would gladly return.

After we sat down, our server took her sweet time getting to us and was largely absent the entire visit while the servers for the others tables were attentive and present as I've come to expect. We started with the Crispy Brussels and Burrata Toast which was an amazing and fun combination of flavors textures with the sherry glaze and pickled onions providing a perfect counter to the richness of the cheese. Our second course was the Gage Caesar which we've had before and have enjoyed sharing multiple times, but this time the lettuce was full of grit as if the prep chef did not even bother washing the lettuce. The server never came by to check on us so I had to wave the manager to complain about the salad. The server also never checked to see if we wanted refills on our cocktails so we placed our orders with the manager. The final dish was the venison burger which was perfectly cooked and seasoned if you like venison, which I do so we enjoyed that greatly. The condiments that came with it were perfectly matched to balance the game of the meat and the fries were perfect as usual! The server then FINALLY got more involved with our dinner and was predictably perky and present at the end, something that always irks me when they have been otherwise absent for the meal. The ONLY reason they are getting 3 stars instead of less for this visit was the flavor of the food and the response of the manager in dealing with the lack of service (and the gritty salad). I would give the initial server a zero if I could.

We chose to dine at Girl & the Goat in Chicago, a restaurant we had never visited before. The acclaimed restaurant by renowned chef Stephanie Izard truly lived up to its stellar reputation! One of the first things we appreciated was the convenience of the restaurant's valet parking, located right by the front patio. At $22 for up to four hours and $26 for four to eight hours, the rates were quite reasonable for the area. As soon as the three of us stepped inside Girl & the Goat (we had made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday), we were warmly greeted by one of the two friendly hostesses, and were promptly led to a comfortable four-top table with a banquette and two chairs along the wall. We felt fortunate to have one of the better tables in the dining room, as some of the others were positioned very close together. The nearby two-top tables, in particular, were quite small and placed only a short distance from ours. The restaurant's rustic-industrial décor was dark but trendy and stylish, the lively and vibrant vibe was warm and welcoming. However, I have to mention that it was really loud in the dining room, as guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and talked loudly.  It was hard to hear our server and the staff who delivered and explained the dishes to us.  Our server, Yazmin, was extremely friendly and attentive.  It was very sweet of her to wish us a happy anniversary both in the beginning  and at the end of the meal.  She also checked in on us several times during the evening.  Now, on to the food and drinks. I started with a glass of the NA Sparkling Rosé ($17), which was light, crisp, and quite refreshing. My husband ordered a glass of Le Colture Prosecco ($18), while our daughter chose the Sun Kid ($18). She enjoyed her drink, although she felt the portion was a bit small, as the glass was filled with a lot of ice that took up much of the space. Since the restaurant offers small to medium plates which are shareable, Yazmin advised us to get 5 to 6 dishes for 3 people to share.  We decided to get 5 savory dishes and 3 desserts to share: Savory dishes: - Chickpea Fritters ($20), goat yogurt, green chutney, sev spice crunch, pickled rhubarb. - Pan Roasted Halibut ($37), miso-Marcona almond butter, spring onion blueberry nuoc cham. - Roasted Pig Face ($28), sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple, potato stix. - Goat Empanadas ($24), smoked tomato-corn salsa, roasted poblano crema queso fresco. - Confit Goat Belly ($38), strawberry goat braise, smoked yogurt drizzle, pickled strawberries. Desserts: - Vacation, Please! ($16), toasted coconut crunch, lemon passion fruit sorbet, rum-soaked pineapple cake. - Berry Yummy Par-tea ($16), earl grey soaked sponge cake, yuzu curd, spiced blackberries. - Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash ($16), olive oil semifreddo, chocolate fennel crunch, basil granita. The meal was just phenomenal!  All the savory dishes were cooked perfectly with bold flavors; the meats were tender and full of flavors.  There were dishes that we normally would not have ordered if we saw them on menus of other restaurants.  Here, we tried them and were delighted that we did!  Our consensus is that Roasted Pig Face is our most favorite! It is everything we love in a comfort dish -- crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavor.  We will definitely order this again!  The Confit Goat Belly is a close second, with buttery, fall-apart meat and just the right balance of richness, acidity, and crunch. For dessert, "Vacation, Please!" is the one that we will always come back for. The toasted coconut crunch adds texture, the lemon passion fruit sorbet brings a refreshing tang, and the rum-soaked pineapple cake ties it all together with just the right amount of sweetness.  The other two desserts that we ordered were also very good.  The staff even brought out a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream on the house, with two lit candles to celebrate our anniversary - a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable.  This dessert spread was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. I'd like to mention that the restaurant added a 4% surcharge to the bill, which the customer may request to have the surcharge remove if you choose.  We let them keep it. We spent about two hours at the restaurant. The savory dishes came out very quickly, the pace probably was even a tad too fast, but the desserts made up for it by taking a longer time.  We did not mind as we were still full, and had time to enjoy the ambiance more.  I would say it is a restaurant great for group gathering and celebratory functions, but not so much for intimate romantic date night.  All in all, it was a wonderful dinner, we look forward to returning again.

I was there the other week (I've been here at least five times before), and a busser--not our…read morewaiter--started clearing both of our plates before we were finished eating. We each only had a couple of bites left, but it definitely gave off an "okay, you're done now" vibe. Then he went to take the green beans (arguably the cult classic on the menu), and we still had more than half of them left. I had to stop him and say, "Yeah, we're not done with those. We paid for them. Can you put them in a to-go box instead?" For context, it was about 20 minutes before closing, but we ordered with plenty of time and were already eating with a "get in, eat, and get out" mindset. I've just never had someone at a restaurant start clearing plates while we were still actively eating--without asking, "Are you finished?" "Can I clear this?" or "Would you like a to-go box?" It was just... "You're done, these are leaving now." We were there for less than 45 minutes, left about 15 minutes before closing, and spent over $200 (not including the tip). With so many options in Chicago, I don't see myself coming back here.
