Decided to take a day trip out of the heat from phoenix to Prescott !! We stopped to try the docs BBQ and it was okay . Let me just say we were extremely hungry. I got the turkey sandwich and it was good but I had asked for no bacon it was easy to peel off none the less. It just fell apart bite after bite which just sucks. My friend got pulled pork sandwich and he said 3/5 the pork was a bit dry. We both got Fries and they were a bit bland I will say. Lastly got the buffalo chicken dip and it was good till it wasn't kinda ...they like put a sauce on top of cream cheese ...it was kinda odd . Again was very hungry so was good till it wasn't lol ... I will say they had a nice variety of ciders which is my absolute favorite!!! :)

We hesitated, but so glad we changed our minds! The service was fantastic for such a busy place. We opted to sit indoors, but loved how they remodeled the great outdoors. They have an amazing bar and beautiful wine barrel tables on the patio and though the misters were on, we sat inside. Next time it will be outside, because the restaurant was a bit warm where we were sitting. Anyway, food was very good. My husband ordered the pulled-pork sandwich and it comes with coleslaw (in the sandwich) and one side. He got the Mac-n-cheese, which he said was very good, but honestly? It's not something I'd ever order, because it looked like a bowl of soup. Just why? The sandwich though, was huge and packed with a lot of meat. My husband loved it! Our friends (and the reason we were in the beautiful and historic downtown) order the Six Shooter and shared it. They really enjoyed the BBQ (brisket, ribs, turkey, and a sausage) and I think we all loved the coleslaw! They did order the ranch-style beans, but unfortunately they were out (Tuesday early afternoon???) and ended up with sweet beans, which they did not love. They definitely had a whole lot of cumin going on, because I could smell it across the table! As for me, I got the Double Barrel Shotgun and it came with brisket, St Louis style ribs and a side. Thank God I got the coleslaw! The ribs were delicious and I like the fact that they have a variety of BBQ sauces on the table. I had the spicy habanero and it was perfect! The brisket was tasty, but I enjoyed the ribs so much more. Like I said, it was our first time trying out this fairly new establishment (it took the place of the iconic--now infamous Colt Grill) and we most certainly will be going back. If weather permits, I'd recommend sitting on the patio and enjoying the view of the courthouse square/people-watching. I wish I had pictures of our food, but I think we were so hungry and I forgot! Next time!

We went to Doc's BBQ & Whiskey on a weeknight while visiting Prescott. They were able to accommodate our large party of 13 with a big table on the patio. I ordered a plate with ribs and brisket. The ribs were alright while the brisket was good. The beans were really good. Another member of our party tried the potato salad and loved it. My husband ordered the brisket burger and in hindsight he would have asked for lettuce, tomato, and onion as it only comes with a patty, cheese, and a couple slices of brisket. We tried the Texas Twinkiez and they were alright, we found them to be pretty oily. I tried the Gold Fever cocktail and it was booze forward and very good. Overall our dinner was good and the service was great.

BBQ Nachos with Brisket

I stumbled upon Doc's during a day trip up to the Prescott area and immediately was interested by the aesthetic of the building, which is both sleek and vintage at the same time. It was a weekday in the afternoon during a bout of cold weather so there weren't too many other guests at the time. The service was incredible, with our server being incredibly attentive and friendly for the duration of our meal. However, it was the food that absolutely stole the show! I tried the BBQ Nachos with Smoked Brisket and they were absolutely incredible. The plate was huge and I barely even finished half of it due to how much there was, so the price was well worth it. The brisket was absolutely perfect and the flavors all went together so well. I would consider planning another day trip to the area just to try these again so make sure you stop by!

Pup Friendly Outdoor Patio Area - Lots of Shade for the Pups. They bring out water bowls for your Fur-Babies

This was our first visit here and we were definitely impressed. Most important thing we looked for was a PUP-FRIENDLY place to eat, and stumbled upon this spot. We were seated right away, which was really sweet. They have a nice sized outdoor patio area with tons of shade. They also bring out water bowls for your fur babies. Our server "The Duke of Earl" (Earl) was Awesome! Really cool dude. He had great recommendations on drinks and food, and the choices did not disappoint. We had a brisket burger, the jalapeño cream cheeseburger, two sides of mac & cheese, Texas toast, and an order of Texas Twinkies. We also ordered an unseasoned Pup Patty for our baby girl Sage She's approved of her food too! Thank you 's BBQ & Whiskey for the delicious food and great Customer Service! We're definitely going to be making this our go to place when we come up and visit Prescott!

Service was very, very good. The waiter and waitresses were very attentive. But not overly attentive we ordered the Texas Twinkies, which were four and they were excellent. Nanci had the pig nose. Kate and my cousin and her husband each had hamburgers and I had the Dino beef Rib, which was outstanding.

BBQ Plate & Western Burger

In Prescott for the weekend and stopped at Docs with my wife for some good old fashioned bbq and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I got the plate with the burnt ends, ribs, and pulled pork. My wife got the western cheeseburger, she loved it! Our server, Sydney, was awesome! Very nice. The only thing I will say...the bbq sauce itself was not great. 4 options available, none of them hit the spot. House BBQ too sweet, others too watery. Would definitely recommend this place!

Food was really quick and super tasty! Plus the patio was dog friendly (ALWAYS a win)!!!! Will absolutely eat here again the next time we're in town.

BBQ beef brisket sandwich and fries

I came by early on a Thursday. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. Nice outdoor bar with misters to keep it cool. Many tables with shades over them too. I ordered the beef brisket sandwich with fries. Comes with several different BBQ sauces to apply. The house BBQ was my favorite. Fries were seasoned and coated with something crispy. Brioche buttered bun complemented nicely. Portion size was good. An adjacent table ordered the nachos and it was huge. They said it was delicious. The server said happy hour serves a half portion. Definitely going to come back to try more of their menu. They are a little expensive but I think it's worth it.

From the time we walked in to when we left we had top notch service. Greeted with friendly workers, who enjoyed their job serving you. Laid back Rustic vibe low tables and high top tables. Our waitress was so nice and all the other workers walking by checking to see if we needed anything. Kinda cool they all worked together! We ordered The Texas Twinkie's, large jalapeño stuffed with mouth watering brisket and cream cheese wrapped in bacon. Oh my!! So good these can be your meal! We ask how many came in the order and it depends on the size of their jalapeños they get. We ordered the large it came with 3 probably 4" jalapeño stuffed with goodness! Oh and ranch dipping sauce. Yum While she was putting our ordered in her pad another gal walked up with them . So fast! It was 4 pm and we hadn't eaten lunch this was going to be our Linner We split the large Wagyu Cheese burger w/Bacon jalapeño cream cheese and fries . The burger meat tasted like steak seasoned perfectly. The fries were seasoned well and paired up nicely with their bbq sauce. Good gosh there was a lot of fries. The 4 BBQ sauces were all very unique . I loved the House, my husband liked the Hot Habanero. They also had AZ Tangy and Sweet heat all were very good and made there. Our waitress was so nice she saw my husband's phone and commented on our husky's. She too has a couple of dogs one being crazy like ours. Great experience we will definitely be back next time we're in town and we already told our family about this place. They all do lots of day trips and love BBQ. Doc's sits right in the corner on whiskey row, plenty of outdoor tables too. Great place to bring a large group. Super Clean! We found this place from Yelp so thanx again for a great referral!

We visited Doc's BBQ & Whiskey shortly after they opened in Prescott, Arizona! Overall an impressive establishment, I wish I lived closer. Everything was clean and well put together with a modern BBQ vibe. All the staff were very friendly and personable. The restaurant is situated along Prescott's Historic "Whiskey Row" and Doc brings the goods. I started with their Old Fashioned and it was very tasty. The brisket here is outstanding. I ordered the moist cut and it was tender, beefy, and richly marbled with a distinct smoke ring. I had high hopes for their "Smoked Mac & Cheese" but it wound up tasting pretty pedestrian. Seemed to be laden with processed cheese. We had fun sampling all of their delicious BBQ sauce choices that are nestled in a caddy at the table. Be warned however that one of the five is actually ketchup! I will definitely visit this place again the next time I'm in Prescott.

Even after the second attempt, it still wasn't right. For a restaurant known for its steaks, that's unacceptable. To make matters worse, the entire place had a strong mothball-like smell that was impossible to ignore and lingered with us even after we left. As we were walking out, another patron commented that the food was "barely palatable," which pretty much summed up our experience as well. The service tried to address the issue, but the poor food quality and unpleasant atmosphere overshadowed everything else. Sadly, we won't be returning.

I have been to Prescott many times over the years but never visited Red White & Brew until last…read moreThursday night for dinner. Inside it's an attractive interior and I was expecting a good meal. They have a small parking lot along with plenty of street parking if that is full. The restaurant has a covered outdoor patio for dining along with a full bar room separate from the inside seating areas. I ordered the bourbon glazed pecan salmon entree for $34. The meal came with a choice of two side dishes. I went with a side salad and the baked potato. Kat, my waitress, asked if I wanted it loaded with sour cream, butter, bacon, cheese and chives. I asked her if there was an extra charge for those toppings and she said no and that it came that way if I desired it. I accepted it except for the chives. First to arrive was the side salad and it was delicious. It was a quality start to the meal. Then the entree appeared and it was a beautiful plate. The salmon was pan seared with a bourbon glaze on top with candied pecans. It also had several raviolis next to the salmon with spinach and some creole mustard sauce. Flavor, flavor, flavor! That glaze and pecans mixed so well with the salmon and raviolis. Mouth watering for sure. The baked potato had two large scoops of butter and sour cream on top with cheese and was oh so good tasting. It was a quality meal for sure. 5 stars! As I was eating the potato I noticed there was no bacon pieces in it. Figuring that someone forgot to add it, I looked for my waitress and she was no where to be found. Her service was very slow. By the time she arrived I had finished the meal. I mentioned to her that the bacon was missing but it was too late since I had finished the meal. Minus 1 star. When she presented the bill at my table I paid the bill with full tip and took the receipt and left. Just outside the door I noticed on the receipt that I had been charged .75 cents each for the bacon and cheese! Minus another star. So I went back in and talked to the lady manager. She said that my waitress wasn't aware of those topping charges and it was her fault. I told her that I understood that those things can happen but had a problem with being charged for the bacon and never receiving it. She said that she would refund me the cost for the bacon and cheese and would adjust my credit card for the $1.50. I saw her do it on their portable credit card machine. She assured me that it would be done. That was last Thursday and this is Tuesday and no credit has shown in my statement. Minus another star. Very good food, very poor staff and management.

Colt Grill is located on Whiskey Row and caddy corner from the Courthouse. It is easy to find and street parking is plentiful. Colt Grill has both indoor and outdoor uncovered seating which is so popular with the weather here. Inside it's a counter service restaurant with a bar that serves BBQ. I ordered the 1/2 smoked chicken platter that comes with slaw and cornbread for $17.50. I added the "meal deal" of 2 sides for $6 more and chose the sweet beans and Texas Toast because I wanted to try those side dishes in addition with what came with the meal. The meal was ready in less than 15 minutes. I immediately realized that I ordered too much food. Along with the 1/2 bird, the slaw and jalapeño cheese cornbread were full size sides. The beans and toast were too but then I did get to try them all so I wasn't complaining. The chicken looked perfect and was juicy and flavorful with a hint of smoke and a lot of taste. The cole slaw was cool and creamy and the big slice of cornbread moist and delicious. The beans had content in them with brisket and onions and looked great but were unfortunately dry. I would have been content to not order the two extra sides and save the $6. All in all the food was good tasting and affordable. I would have given a 4 score except for these negatives: First the dry beans. Second was for the flies buzzing around inside. Third was that they were out of some utensils and I had to use a child's fork to eat with. Evidently the dishwasher wasn't keeping up. Finally they have a sauce bar here with about 8 bbq sauces with descriptions to use which is neat. However, the 2 sauces that I wanted were out at the time. 3 of the 4 negatives were management related issues and may have not been the norm here however that is what I experienced. Colt Grill is a popular restaurant in Prescott that needs a little better organization. However, I would return on a future visit here.

I ordered the Philly with garlic butter fries (because why wouldn't I), and my girl got the smoked turkey club it, did come with a full bottle of mayo in it so maybe ask for light mayo if you order that , but the mac & cheese could bring a grown man to tears. 3/4 slapped harder than expected Now, I did make a rookie mistake at the bar. I Ordered a regular 805 like a chump... $6 for 16oz. Then I see this glorious 22oz mug you can buy for $14--first fill is FREE, and refills are only $7 forever after as long as you bring your mug. You mean I could've had a beer and a souvenir? Say less. I'm now emotionally attached to this mug. The patio is the move--plenty of space, good vibes, and dogs welcome. I'll be back, and next time I'm bringing friends, family, and probably some strangers too.
