We decided to head north for a day trip to escape the heat of Phoenix and after hiking around Lynx Lake we were hungry and found Bill's Grill on Yelp. Their burgers were reasonably priced so we figured why not give it a try. Suffice it to say that NONE if the three of us were disappointed. It only took a bite or two into our sandwiches to realize how delicious they were and we all agreed they were the best burgers any of us had eaten in a long time. Yes folks, they are THAT good! Lewis built his own burger, John had the Chili burger and I had the bacon two patty smash burger. We were able to customize our choices without difficulty which made it even better (especially since I hate American Cheese and was able to get cheddar instead.) Our server Kristin (who later let us know used to live in Phoenix) was awesome!!! No, really!!! She was welcoming from the start, attentive during our meal and super friendly! She made us feel like we had been going to Bill's for years. Top notch service on her part!!! We plan on visiting Lynx Lake in a few weeks with friends for my birthday and we know exactly where we'll be having lunch. Trust us. Try Bill's! You will love it! read more

Nikki mistakenly charged us $65.00 for a beer. It should have been $6.50. It was during a monsoon. We were a bit distracted wondering how we could get to our car. So when presented with the handheld POS system, my husband hit the 20% tip tab without examining the charges. He didn't catch the $65 beer. So we tipped 20% on that overcharge. It wasn't until the next day that I saw we were charged $117 for 2 sandwiches and 1 beer. I immediately called to alert management of the error. 3 calls later we eventually got a refund for $58. Called again to get the $16.60 tip refunded. (Obviously no tip deserved given overcharge). Got a text showing the tip was refunded. But we never got it. You know why? The receipt showed Nikki refunded it to some other customer. It was not our tab. Called during business hours (got answering machine) leaving a message for manager to call me. I briefly explained the bungled refund requesting a return call. Never got a call back. Dine and pay at your own risk. Best to use cash and scrutinize the bill. Know if there is an error there is no recourse from management. read more

did not disappoint! came during lunch time Sunday and wasn't super crowded and parking was easy. We got the fish and chips which were super crunch and tender/flaky on the inside. Loved this! The fries were also crispy and had great texture. Coleslaw was light and gave the meal a good balance! Was thoroughly surprised! Portlander burger was 5/5. The goop sauce brought the burger together. Egg and caramelized onions were a good touch. The sweet potato fries were also done very well. We also got the root beer milkshake which was great value for the size of the shake. It's a cute little place but it tends to be very busy which can lead to tedious wait times. The floor also feels sticky and the menus need to be cleaned too as they are also sticky and dirty. The food we got overall was good too. My cheesesteak was pretty decent and flavorful. And the fries were crispy as well as I could tell fresh. My family got other stuff like fish and chips and fish tacos. The coleslaw was delicious as it wasn't too salty or sweet. And the the restaurant itself is a cute little place, but it's nothing special at all. I would recommend trying it to see how it is if you are new to Prescott. Located less than a half mile from the historic downtown, this geared more to locals and not "tourist" places near the park. Parking is scarce. Restrooms are nice and clean and only one. Looks like it was formerly the home of owner/manger of a motel. The place has a roof over the former "office' and it gives off a patio feel that is quite pleasant and homey. There is the salute to veterans motif, with country kitsch vibe, yet the staff seems to be more organic. read more

Bill's Grill - Extremely Disappointing Service We arrived at 5:30pm5:35pm and were seated quickly for a party of five, which made sense since the restaurant wasn't full. Our server took our drink order right away, brought out the shakes and sodas, and then took our food order at 5:45pm. Up to that point, everything seemed fine. Then she disappeared. For the next 35-45 minutes, our server never returned, no check‑ins, no updates, no acknowledgment. We tried getting her attention several times, and she outright ignored us. Meanwhile, two tables seated after us (one with two people, another with four adults and two kids) received their food within about 15 minutes of ordering. Nearly an hour after we placed our order, we had to flag down a completely different server who finally brought out our food, and still no apology, no explanation, nothing from the server who took our order. The food itself was okay. We. Ordered a salad, chicken wings and 2 orders of fish and chips. Everything were fine, and while they use an inexpensive fish like swai instead of a traditional cod, it was decent, that wasn't the issue; the service was. To make things worse, their minimum auto‑tip was set at 18%, and the system made it unnecessarily difficult to adjust the percentage. If we hadn't been running late, I would have made sure our original server didn't receive that full 18%. She absolutely did not earn it. In a small town like Prescott, you might keep your regulars, but you'll lose tourists and new residents quickly. We're new locals, and after this experience, we won't be returning, and we'll be spreading the word. --- If you want this version sharper, shorter, or more formal, I can adjust it. read more

During a trip to Prescott from the Valley, my mom, dad, and I had decided to hit up LazyG Brewhouse for a late lunch, early dinner situation because my dad had been getting hungry and we knew the later it got (on a Saturday), the more crowded any restaurant would be. Upon pulling up to LazyG, my mom and dad remembered they had already been there a couple years back with my aunt and uncle, so we decided to try a different place. I had suggested Bill's Grill due to it being a burger place that didn't have $20+ burgers on the menu. First note, they had a few other people in there, but like I said earlier, it was around 3 PM on a Saturday in August. It wasn't peak time so we were able to pull into a parking spot in their parking lot super easily. We were able to seat ourselves and our server checked in on us quickly. My mom and I weren't hungry as we wanted to get ice cream for dinner at a different place, but my dad was really hungry. Me and her got the basket of sweet potato fries and split those, while my dad got the special that was written on the board you see when you first walk in: the Philly Cheesesteak. With an addition of fries on the side that were extra ($3 - that's how they can get away with only charging $12 for a burger). The food came out rather quickly. Our sweet potato fries were hot, crispy, and with just the right amount of salt. I quite enjoyed them. My dad's Philly Cheesesteak and fries weren't anything special though. His fries, I thought, had almost no flavor and were too crunchy for my liking. But my parents didn't find anything wrong with them and actually gave them praise, so. The sandwich, however, was where the meal fell short. It doesn't take much to impress my dad and even he gave it 3 stars out of 5. It was mostly bread and peppers. The chipotle sauce wasn't too chipotle and didn't pack enough punch. There was also not much meat for a Philly Cheesesteak. The long slices of pepper were the main stars of the show as you can see in the picture. He also wished there was more cheese. Maybe their burgers are better, but the meal wasn't anything worth remembering for us. Also, NO AC. My friend and I recently dined in after our morning hike. We both ordered the build your own burgers and thoroughly enjoyed them. Everything from the patty to the toppings tasted very fresh. I ordered onion rings on the side and absolutely loved them! They were perfectly crispy and crunchy. My friend ordered a side of potato fries and she loved them as well. They were the perfect size being crunchy on the outside and toasty potato on the inside. The ambience of the restaurant was great as well and when you first walk in it looks like an indoor patio with the grill and the rest of the restaurant inside. I love the indoor patio vibes as it felt like we're able to see the outdoors, but with the comfort of the space heaters. Service was also super quick and our waitress was really sweet. Stopped at Bill's for lunch this weekend in Prescott and had a great meal. The menu has lots of variety, so there's something for just about any appetite. I had a terrific patty melt with a porter, but the real standout was the beer-battered onion rings. Special is the word. If you have even the slightest liking for onion rings, you have to try these--they're that good. Crisp, flavorful, and worth ordering even if you weren't planning to. Service was friendly, the food hit the spot, and it felt like one of those places you look forward to returning to. One of these days I'm coming back for one of their adult shakes. Best Fried pickles we've ever had lightly battered and crisp inside. Fresh cut onion rings so good. Great tasty Cole slaw. Pretzel bites were a little dry, beer cheese sauce and home made ranch were very good. I ordered fish & chips. It comes with slaw. $15 fish was perfectly battered no fishy taste , tartar sauce was really good, There was a generous amount of French fries were done just right and hidden under the fish. I debated ordering fish but our waitress said it's one of their best sellers. It was perfect! I have a whole meal to take home! Husband ordered Green chili burger with bacon cheddar cheese. It has Strips of green chili and chipotle aoli. $13.50 Very tasty green chilies weren't super spicy. The sauce had a bit of a kick overall the burger was super tasty ! We had green chile burger & patty melt; a chef's kiss delicious, and onion rings. Green chile was cooked medium rare and perfect with pink and a full green chile and toppings. Juicy and the green chile within was full of flavor. I had the Patty Melt cooked medium rare and that too cooked perfectly pink and the rye bread completed the flavors. Probably the best patty melt I've had in a good long time! Juice literally dripping down my hand, they rye had bits of crispy onion cooked on the bread, totally made it. The onion rings looked & tasted fresh, not frozen, battered; cooked golden & crispy. Arrived hot out of the fryer and we asked for ranch dressing on the side. Different syrup flavors were a treat. And the bacon was exceptional ... thick, and very meaty, little fat. If you like bacon, few restaurants had such high quality bacon from my experience. That's place is super quaint. You can tell it was an old house turned restaurant. They had enclosed the patio which is nice, and is where most is the open seating is located. Space heaters kept it nice and warm. It was a seat yourself but they helped us because we had a large group. The server was very efficient. The only thing that was won't is I wanted the blue Hawaiian drink but she brought me the mule instead. Not a huge deal. The food was delicious. I loved the fish tacos and coleslaw. I'm not usually a huge restaurant coleslaw person but theirs was very good and not overwhelmingly vinegary. Overall I would come again. I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, it fell short.. it's a small cafe type restaurant and looks like a converted house to a commercial establishment. We came here with the in-laws for a late lunch. When we arrived, the place was fairly full, yet we were seated immediately in the back room. It felt more like an indoor space vs. the main room you enter that has enclosed porch type atmosphere. The menu is broad enough, fairly typical with burgers, sandwiches, etc. They had homemade potato chips on the menu, and we ordered a basket for an appetizer. They are awesome! I ordered a green chile burger, two others had tacos, and my father-in-law had a patty melt. We had iced tea, and the tacos arrived in good time, but after that, we waited, waited, and waited more for the other orders to arrive. At least ten minutes passed when I got up to find our server only to find her missing and two cooks standing idle in the kitchen! Absolutely, ridiculous. Returning to the table, orders finally arrived around five minutes or more later. Our server had been very friendly, cordial, and patient as we ordered, but no explanation of the misstep was offered. My burger was just so-so and the fries, OK. My hope is that this was just an unusual occurrence, but it did cause pause to ever return. FOLLOW-UP COMMENT-.The owner and operations manager did contact me and looked into what happened. It was honestly and forthright explained, and I sincerely appreciate their diligence and good business practice in finding out the issue and taking the time and effort to explain. In light of this, I believe this was a one-off situation, and I recommend them for their sincerity, concern, and taking the review seriously. When we hit the tourist towns we like to find the local gems to eat at. This is one of them. Just saw it in passing and decided we had to eat there. It was busy the night we went but we were in no hurry so we enjoyed the experience.
