Took a trip to the old stomping grounds (LU) and decided to visit Windy City Grill on the drive back. I had a meatball sandwich, and they are the greatest. It's a small location, but the menu has many various options. Service was very attentive and the price was reasonable. Worth the drive and price. read more

I placed a pickup order for two Greek salads with chicken -- specifically requested no onions -- for my coworker and myself. When I returned to work and started eating during my limited lunch break, I noticed the salads did have onions. That wasn't a huge deal; I just picked them off. But what really disappointed me was that they also completely left out the feta cheese, olives, and pepperoncinis -- key ingredients in a Greek salad. I called the restaurant to see what could be done. They told me I'd need to bring the salads back to get replacements -- which wasn't possible because my break was almost over. The manager then offered me a $5 credit total for both salads, which felt dismissive, especially given that I paid for items I didn't receive and was offered a "solution" that cost me more time and hassle. The manager's attitude came off as condescending, and honestly, I was shocked I was being asked to do more to fix their mistake. I declined the $5 credit -- and I won't be returning. read more

Had lunch there last Wednesday with my brother and my dad. 2 of them got steak burgers, me and dad each split a gyro and a 6 piece order of chicken tenders. We all got a small fry each, let me tell ya. Lunch was great the tenders were crispy and perfect not a lot of breading and the bbq sauce has a nice tang to it. The gyro pita sandwich is delicious just like I remembered it, however the star of the show was their fries. Their fries improved and are a lot more crispier now. And I love crispy fries so these fries were perfect, I am sorry to hear your old potato French fry supplier went out of business a few years ago that's what the cook said. Please keep your current fry supplier forever those fries are fantastic. I do remember seeing a 3 person crew hustling back there, through a hungry crowd about 12 people were waiting for their food while we dined in eating and people watching. And it got quiet again after the rush of customers left, after an hour of socializing our lunch hour was over and we left the place not before thanking the crew and complimenting the food. The food, my goodness for a "fast food" place didn't taste like it. I personally got the spicy chicken sandwich and it was cooked to perfection. My gf got the 2 hog dog meal which we shared and the hotdog and bun were perfect. The young lady behind the counter was super nice and making my 2 year old smile and laugh while ordering our food. Been here a couple times in the past 1st review. I generally thought it was pretty tasty. Ordered a double hamburger had a nice char to it, bun is either buttered or has oil on it but it's good as well not soft but not crunchy and hard. The fries were just barely ok. I would come here again. Now the burger was greasy but I don't mind kinda expected it. You have to know what your getting into when you go to Bryson types of restaurant. What am I trying to say? I'm from San Antonio here for work and was craving Chicago style hotdogs. I found this place close by and they had decent reviews. I decided to try it and omg the hotdogs were amazing. I wish I had ordered 4 more. I would love to be able to try the rest of the menu but to be honest if I get close enough to stop again I'll probably just get 6 hotdogs for later. The service was fast and friendly. The ambience was what you would expect from a hole in the wall hotdog place. Good hard working blue collar union supporting restaurant. This is the same review I posted on Google. These guys got it flagged and hidden. Posting it here for visibility. Mediocre. Pretty much everything tastes like it is frozen and bought from a wholesale. Can't even say they get it from Costco because everything they have in the frozen isle (which is meant to be microwaved) tastes better. If I could open a restaurant and serve deep fried frozen foods in Romeoville I would because there are only like 2 restaurants worth my money. My friend would kill for their tendies though, little does he know he can get like 5 lbs of them at Walmart for $5. Oh, and their BBQ sauce is always a different color AND consistency. What is going on here. Only busy during lunch, because once again, only a handful of places in Romeoville. Back down to 1 star. Employees were talking mad smack about me to my friends. This place used to be a favorite but it's become extremely over priced and just bad. We ordered 4 things and ended up with 3. Didn't get the fry we paid for and gave us a gyro with no sauce at all. The hotdog is TINY and smushed, and it's a $5 hot dog! The $8 gyro is tiny and the $5 onion ring burnt. It's sad that such a great place has gone downhill like this. read more

Service was impeccable!! As soon as my husband and I walked in, we were greeted immediately. Wasn't quite sure what we wanted to order so we stared at the menu for a bit. Lol The Guy was really patient with us. We ended up ordering a steak burger and Maxwell St polish. Omg, can you say good?!?!?! Bread/buns were fresh...ingredients...fresh!! We were happy. Hubby wasn't that full so he ordered a hot dog and THAT was good too. What I could suggest, it would be really good if they had fresh cut fries! Oh boy!!!! Wow! It's been 15 years since my last review of this place. Then, I was only familiar with WCG for only 2 years (moved out this way from Chicago). Now 17 (Lord, how time flies), I do have to say it's one of my favorite lunch places in Romeoville (and has been for a majority of those 17 years). Chicago-style authenticity is something I first didn't realize was missing in many of the other 'burb joints I visited. WCG does it up right. Italian Beefs are now my favorite here, and their crinkle-cut fries are always nice and crispy. Still enjoy an occasional Poor Boy, as well as Polish Sausage, Greek Chicken, Rib Tips, Gyros (and more). Always consistent, always great food. And some of the nicest staff around. read more

The meat tasted like an old frozen not very high quality meat product and for over 9.00 well I want a better burger. I think I will go elsewhere for my burger. I went to W C G to see how it is because i have not been there in quite a while. The food has gone waaayyyy down hill. I ordered a steak sandwich and it had 1 sliver of steak, like one bite . Cool spot to swing by for some good, cheap food. Menu is about what you would expect from a place with "Grill" in it's name; burgers, hot dogs, selection of assorted sandwiches such as philly cheese steaks and the like. But what I really enjoyed about Windy City Grill was the service and friendliness of the staff. I came in on a slow afternoon and was the only one there at the time. I did not know what to expect from the place, since it was dead slow, and the windows were filled with signs proclaiming that they now made pizza, which could be interpreted negatively given the pace of business at the time of visit. Nonetheless, the guy who took my order was friendly and helpful, and only a few minutes later the guy who brought me my philly greek sandwich was just as nice. I left feeling encouraged that I had made a good decision. After my 10 minute drive home, my feelings were validated. The chicken was delicious and juicy and the pita bread was soft and warm. They were also liberal with the cheese, but I am not complaining. Have I had better? Of course. But I have also had far worse. Overall, Windy City Grill is a great place to stop by for a tasty, quick bite with some fast and friendly service. Give it a try! read more

I really like to support local restaurants during this whole Covid pandemic and leave the big chain restaurants out of the picture. This is one of those local restaurants that's a diamond in the rough! I was blown away with the amount of food that I received for what I paid. I got a foot-long Polish dog which actually ended up being 2 1/2 foot Polish dogs. They were nicely done with grilled onions and mustard. I wish I'd taken a picture of the fries and shrimp basket that I purchased. The butterflied shrimp were huge and I got at least 8 to 10 of them. I didn't count and kind of wish I did. All in all, very tasty and a lot of food! I was stuffed!!! When I'm in Romeoville I will visit again. I was chewing the fat with who I believe to be the owner while I was waiting for my food and he was very friendly and personable. Definitely worth the visit! read more

The pizza puffs remind me of childhood, cheeseburgers are the perfect thickness and no pink on the inside, hot dogs with cheese sauce is perfect for dipping the fries in.
