Also had the margaritas, which were just ok. For dinner we ordered the Abuelas Ropa Vieja (with a friend egg), the Little Bird Fried Chicken, and the Masa de Puerco Chino. All were delicious and with generous servings. For dessert we had the Flan Cubano and Coconut Rum Tres Leches. Very good, but the flan was especially creamy! Definitely recommend, nice rustic decor, however, parking is limited. read more

I've been hearing wonderful things about Doce Provisiones for years. I finally decided to check it out for myself, and I am so glad I did. We ate in their back patio, which is gorgeous with its greenery and murals. We started with drinks. They offer huge pitchers for $45, which is a great deal. The three of us each managed to get two full glasses of delicious passion fruit mojitos. We started with the goat cheese croquettes and brussel sprouts. The croquettes were a warm, flavorful delight. The brussel sprouts were crispy, savory perfection. For my entree, I had the mahi, which was served with rice on the side and laid on top of maduros. It was covered with a coconut aji cream that was so good I had to stop myself myself from licking the plate clean. I wish there was another seafood or vegetarian option for an entree. Finally got to try Doce Provisions, and I wasn't overwhelmed, I wasn't underwhelmed, I was simply whelmed. My friend and I got there a little before our 6:30 reservation on a Wednesday. Our server lets us know right off the bat that they didn't have fish croquetas or the Cuban sandwich. No biggie, since we weren't interested in either. We each started with a glass of sangria (passionfruit white for me and berry red for her). I absolutely loved it. Really refreshing and great flavor. As for our meal, we went with the: - chorizo croquetas: fine flavor, but really tiny - masa de puerco chino: really tasty, but some of the pork pieces were tough - vaca frita tostones: probably my fave of the night, but be warned these are maduro tostones - disco truffle fries: after ordering, we were told the gravy was "bad," so our server confirmed if just truffle fries were okay - coconut rum tres leches: way too strong, but the torched merengue was divine The outdoor patio is cute and the service was friendly (although a little nonexistent as the restaurant got busier). Very unassuming entrance but their hidden outdoor courtyard is gorgeous. Their ropa vieja was delicious; the pork was moist and bursting with flavor. Doce Provisions, or how I have recently begun calling it, Doce's, is truly a hidden gem of this neighborhood. Located in the ruff and tumble streets of Little Havana: 12th avenue to be precise, on a strip filled with barbershops, taquerias, beauty salons and churches, you would be forgiven if you walked right past this joint without ever noticing anything was there. But once stepping inside, you'll know this is no ordinary restaurant. Out in back is a beautiful outdoor court yard, you'll be sitting surrounded by beautiful flora and artwork. Several artists have a studio adjacent to the Court Yard, including the street artist Krave who you'll see plenty of his art splashed on sides of the businesses along Calle Ocho. The court yard presents the perfect spot to enjoy a Sunday afternoon, have after-work cocktails, or entertain friends. The food is perfect. A tad bit on the expensive side and the portions run a bit small. But it's quality and not quantity that matters the most at Doce's. The tostones con Vaca Frita is some of the best I've ever had; nicely dressed with onions, cilantro, and a few hot peppers to add some zest but it's not too spicy at all. The chicken and waffle had some of the most tender chicken I've ever eaten, it pairs nicely with the slightly sweet guayaba sauce. Definitely in the top 5 chicken and waffles I have had. Pro tip: while they don't really have breakfast options, eggs can be added to the side or to top off any of the items on the menu - making this the perfect spot to have brunch! read more

My favorite Little Havana spot definitely has to be this one. Not only is the service always great, but the ambiance outside makes me feel like I'm in my abuela's backyard having some homemade lunch. I've been here a few times but on my last visit I ordered a few things. Everything was nothing short of savory and delicious, starting with the chorizo croquetas, a true delicacy. These croquetas truly deserve an award. On the other side we had the short rib tacos which were so flavorful and very distinct from any tacos I've ever tried. As the main dish, and the dish I usually always have, is the little bird fried chicken....BEST CHICKEN AND WAFFLES IN MIAMI. no ifs ands or buts. My friends and I decided to catch up over dinner and drinks and decided we would check this place out. Best idea! Came on a Friday night around 8 pm. Parking was easy and convenient. Located in the corner section. Small inside section, btw completely packed. There is an outdoor section that's much bigger than I expected! The ambiance reminds me of Cuba. Palm trees, outdoor lights, rustic, farm to table decor. Super sexy yet relaxed. We sat outside for about 10 min before the rain came, unfortunately we were in an area where there was no covering. Our server, Bryan was super accommodating and helped us bring out stuff inside and sat us along the wall. He promised once a 4 top table came available he'd move us. He was attentive but not pushy and gave us awesome recommendations. My friends and I absolutely loved the food and vibes. We will definitely come back. Great, fantastic restaUrant! The Coca Cola is a HALF LITER, and the passion fruit lemonade was to die for. My friends and I sampled a bunch of food and shared, so we got a good helping of everything. It was all very filling! We ordered macaroni and cheese, guacamole, Brussels sprouts, a tostada with beef on it, fried rice, and a tiramisu with coconut and rum. Wanted to love this place. The food was quite tasty, but the service was horrendous. We had a reservation at 8. They sat us inside, behind the divider to the kitchen. After being seated and waiting 10 minutes, still no one had come to our table to even get us drinks. Finally, when we asked, someone came. When we ordered, the waiter came by maaaaybe twice the entire meal. Never asked if we wanted refills on drinks or waters until, again, I flagged someone down. Other people around us got their food before we did. The table directly next to us sat unbussed the entirety of our meal. It was clear that the outside seats got the attention, while those of us inside were, frankly, being ignored. As a side note, the host should be stationed outside the restaurant. Since it's so tiny inside, large groups come in and stand on top of you while you're eating. NOT a good experience whatsoever. read more

Then they have an outside garden/patio which was extremely inviting with string lights and graffiti. Physical location 3 out of 5 No parking, street parking only, 1 bathroom which had a couple people waiting. Eventually no trash can in the restroom. Food 4 of 5 I love how they put such detail into every dish. You can tell when they made the recipes they really cared. Example the gravy fries they strategically place gravy in certain spots to not make them soggy. Reason for a 4 the burger was a little too salty for my liking I think it was mainly the pickle that pushed it over the edge. The whole burger got eaten it was great overall. We came during lunch time on a Sunday and there wasn't a lot of people. The food was great! We got seated very fast. We had the vaca frita with tostones and it was my favorite plate we ordered! The service overall could use improvement although we were the only table inside we had to wait a while for our food and maybe saw our waiter only a couple of times. The prices here are pretty steep considering the area it's in and comparing it to neighboring restaurants. The portion sizes are great - no complaints! Came here on vacation and saw this spot was highly recommended so booked a reservation for 8pm. The restaurant has a small storefront but there's a huge outdoor garden in the back for outdoor dining. Bring bug spray though if you're prone to mosquito bites! Overall, food here was solid and mostly tapas so definitely order a couple items to share to be full. The kitchen though does close early so make sure to order beforehand rather than wait if you're dining at a late hour. Appetizers: -Lechon Asado Buns: these buns were my favorite, meat topped with pineapple, pickled onions and some colorful peppers. I loved that this was so pretty but also slightly sweet and savory. Great combo of color, taste, and texture (with the bun outside, so soft and fluff) -Vaca Frita Tostones: these were savory mini potato pancake like pieces topped with meat, sauce and peppers. Again, super colorful but they were not as flavorful. Ok. -Chorizo Croquettes: Really liked how crispy and fun these little croquettes were for a finger fruit. Recommend this, fun bites of flavor. Mains: -Shrimp Mac & Cheese: this mac and cheese was AMAZING. Loved the noodles, super spirals. It was cheesy but also nicely toasted on the top so there's some crunch. Really good. -Shrimp Enchilado: Good staple food to fill up on, plantains and some side salad with plenty of shrimp. Comes with rice. Overall, enjoyed the experience here. The bill was a little high compared to the rest of Miami cost of living but it was a nice dinner spot with the food generally being pretty yum. Yelp did not steer us wrong - we were not the hungriest, but I was thirsting for a mixed drink, and I had heard they make a mighty mojito, which I can now confirm. We chose to sit outside, since Florida always cranks up the AC. The courtyard outside was beautiful and I felt like I was in someone's chic backyard bbq. We went with the cubano sandwich (not on the menu, but ask for it! so so good!) and the prime rib burger. I generally don't like cuban sandwiches, but this one was so so much better than any I've ever had. The secret was probably the delicious sauce, and the fact that the ham/meat inside was lightly pan-fried ahead of time to give it that extra crunch. As for the burger, I was really upset at myself for not leaving room in my belly for more of it, but it was definitely something else. 100% would recommend Doce Provisions if you want to grab a nice bite in Little Habana. read more

Cool little cafe serving creative food with a Latin flair. Doce Provisions is located a little off the beaten path (at least for me), in Little Havana, close to Calle Oche. The place looks bright, shiny, and new compared to some of the older more traditional establishments nearby. Metered parking is available on the street nearby. The inside has a "Wynwood" vibe with faux distressed wood and bright art. There are only about a dozen small tables inside. I believe there is a courtyard where one can dine outside but it was closed when we were there due to rain. The dinner menu is fairly small with a dozen starters, eight mains, four sides, and four desserts. There are also a few specials everyday. I found the starters to be more interesting than the mains. These are the items we ordered: Chorizo Croquettes-I am not a huge croquette fan, but these award winning ones were good. Crispy Brussels- tons of flavor, almost a little too much soy for me. Lobster Bun - a special, big chunks of lightly tempura lobster in a fluffy bun. You can't get much better than this. Vaca Frita Tostones - nice twist in a tostone. Churrasco - The boniato mash made this dish. Thai Street Noodles - My least favorite. The sauce was too sweet for me. Florida Mahi - I usually do but like Mahi but the Chimi sauce made this fish dish an excellent choice. - 15 year old ordered it but I would get this next time. Service was friendly and helpful. Prices were fair. Not a destination spot for me but definitely a place I would pop into if in the area again. read more
