Chips and salsa. (chips in my own bowl)
    Mike B.

Somewhat bland and uninspired. All of the food seemed highly salted but generally lacking any other seasoning. The fish taco might as well have been made with a fish stick from the freezer aisle. The two different vegetarian tacos were fine, but somewhat bland. The Dino bowl seemed like it might be some sort of salad bowl, but the lettuce was overwhelmed and wilted while the other ingredients lacked much brightness. The various salsas were fine, but more salty than flavorful. The side of black beans might have actually been the ironic star of the show. In terms of of the overall experience, we ordered takeout and were very happy with the overall process. The online ordering page was straightforward and made it easy to customize each dish. The order was ready exactly when it was supposed to be, and the staff were all very pleasant. If you're hungry after a night out, this might be a reasonable destination for tacos and Mexican-adjacent cuisine. Probably not the kind of place that you really want to seek out.

Cute eclectic restaurant with awesome decor. Got taco box special for 12.00. Two tacos with chips and choice of salsa, guacamole or queso. Got carnitas and shrimp. Both tacos FULL...liked carnitas better than shrimp. Lots of chips but tasted a bit stale. Lots of hot sauces to try...recommend!

Doce is absolutely one of my favorite taco spots. Every single taco is incredible. My favorite is the potato and the fish. The pollo one is a close third though. The potato one is a MUST try. Their queso is unmatched and so flavorful. They are always on time with my order and always so friendly, no matter the location. The box deal is what dreams are made of!!! Thanks for being the best!

Gross. Look at all that grease from the Carne Molida Taco

No thanks...these tacos were NOT it. Not sure how this place has such high ratings but every so often, Yelp fails me. This place is one of them. These tacos may be considered a solid choice if you've been living on the East Coast but come to the West, baby. We make them better here. My group and I wanted tacos so we searched up places close by to our location. Menu looked promising so off we went. Between the four of us, we ordered the following tacos: -carnitas -pollo -carne molida -fish -steak One star for the fish taco only. Everything else was below average. Even worse, the carne molida was GREASY AF!!!!!! (see photo attached). Plus, the meat looked/tasted like taco bell meat. Unappetizing and cheap. How the hell was it so greasy??? Yuck. Also, wasn't sure if there was option to choose between corn or flour tortilla. If there was, the cashier never told us. FLOUR tacos suck. Customer service wasn't the greatest. The female cashier looked like she didn't want to be there; hence why she probably didn't bother letting us know about the tortilla option. They don't serve water here. Not even tap. You have to BUY A BOTTLE OF WATER. Coming from the west coast, that's not a common scenario, even if it's a quick service casual restaurant like this one.

Doce is a great spot! Your able to get in and out quick and have a quality meal. They have a nice selection of different tacos and offer a $12 box that includes 2 tacos, chips and salsa/guacamole/Queso. Everyone is super friendly and the place has a fantastic vibe. I've never had a bad meal there and always leave full.

A tasty spot in the South Side for some good tacos! There are no bad choices here, although I didn't necessarily taste any standouts either. The fish taco has a good crispy fish with spicy slaw on top. The potato taco is a great option for vegetarians, although the potatoes aren't quite as crispy as I had hoped. The chicken taco was fine, but it didn't do anything that I couldn't have done at home. The ground beef tacos similarly are tasty but maybe not worth the $4.75 price point. The churro is a nice way to end the evening! I love the Nutella dipping sauce. There are many sodas available as well. The interior is very cool--although there is limited seating-- and the staff are very kind and fun too. If you need a quick taco fix, this is certainly not a bad option at all!

Really cute taco shop on the South Side with a nice selection of tacos to fit any taste. We tried the Americanos, the fish taco, and the carne molida. All were very different from one another but tasty in their own way. The taco competition in this town is fierce and while I wouldn't say these are the best in the city, they're up there. But I'm not a huge taco snob. What I am is a queso snob and let me tell you, the queso here is great. The chips were a little too salty for my tastes though - not sure if they're always like that or just this batch but it did get in the way of my queso enjoyment so that's why I'm taking off a star.

I'm spending a couple weeks at my friend's house on the South Side. I stopped by Doce Taqueria for tacos last night and I'm really happy that I did. They were so good that I returned again this afternoon. The staff is friendly and efficient.

Anytime my mom and I are out near Shadyside, we love to eat there. We love Mexican food and they do it so well. My husband loved his pozole soup. I had the tortilla soup today and it had such great flavor. I would be easier to eat if the tortilla strips in it were a little bit smaller. The birria tacos were phenomenal. The shredded beef is so tender and has the most amazing flavor. They're also super cheesy. The consommé really made it too. The chimichangas are very crunchy and you can't go wrong with any protein you choose. The guacamole is so creamy and tasty. Their chips are really good too. I have never had a drink there but they always look good. Go check them out if you like Mexican food. We have loved everything we have tried and you will too. Absolutely loved the birria tacos. An objectively biased review. The most positively biased review possible. "Oh no", you're thinking, "*Bias*? Not in MY 5-star rating system." It's true. I admit everything. I am biased by how genuinely great Tepache is. By how *good* their chips are--crispy and flaky and perfectly seasoned. By their price-to-portion ratio, which takes me back to The Before Times--before COVID and politics and 6 dollar gas prices. By the quality of everything they serve which I have tried. All of it is top-notch. And by the good people who keep the place running. This is the thing that is biasing my review the most. Tonight, after a Grubhub glitch dropped our order into a wormhole, they were incredibly gracious and kind and offered to make another *and then drove it out to us*. It made our night good and not-hungry instead of bad and hungry, and for that we are beyond grateful. 6/5 stars. No, wait: 7/5.

To start, we had the jalapeño cheese dip. The jalapeño flavor was subtle, but detectable. However the cheese tasted like American, so it wasn't the most authentic. For my main, I asked if they could add soy-chorizo to the mushroom and cheese enchilada and the waiter said they were not able to, which was a little disappointing. I ended up getting the enchilada with just soy-chorizo. It was tasty, but the soy-chorizo was a bit dry. My husband enjoyed the steak burrito, but found their hibiscus juice a bit too sweet.

These tacos are made Mexican style, meaning it comes with onions and cilantro with lime on the side. It also came with a side of grilled onions and potatoes. The potatoes were too soft in my opinion. I think if you were going for grilled side veggies, it's better to make it a tad crispy and browned. For the Taco Tuesday Special, I got the al pastor, steak fajita, and chicken tinga tacos. The best one had to be the al pastor because it wasn't dry and had lots of flavor. I opted for the red morita spicy sauce, and trust it actually has spice and kick to it. The tacos are double layered, which is nice. Decent meal for a Tuesday dinner, their menu is pretty basic for a taco place. For instance, their only dessert is churros with chocolate sauce.
