My husband and I usually order take out one a week from Dock 633 in Lake Placid, Fl. Whenever I call to place my order I always have such amazing young ladies take my orders. What I love most about the take out orders is how careful they are in packing our food, unlike some of their competitors who place the butter and sour cream on top of the hot food, and the butter always melts onto our food.. if I order a backed potato they'll always have the butter and sour cream in a separate plastic container to prevent them from melting all over the food. also, when ordering a fish dinner, they always include lemon slices as well, which I love for to put on my fish. Awesome bar all around. The staff are great, especially Stephanie the bartender and manager. Always willing to help out her staff and talk with the patrons. The food is good and they have specials each day. Events and entertainment every day as well from corn hole tournaments and trivia to bands and the tiki bar outside. (Visit of August 6, 2-4pm). Our airboat captain recommended this place and we were able to try it out after taking a dip at the Lake June beach. It appears to be a solid locals place with excellent food. The appetizer of Gator Bites ($9) tossed in Jerk sauce with green peppers and tomato was extraordinary; being full of flavor. We tried to order rice to mix with it to extend the experience but settled for lettuce as there was no rice cooked yet. The Fried Shrimp (a huge portion) with home made potato chips was also excellent ($8). We ordered it tossed in the Boom Boom sauce; based on Buffalo and butter. The "Dock sauce" is a savory Remoulade mix. It has a nice wood bar with a Chicago rail. There might be a Chicago connection; they have a Chicago hot dog and Goose Island, a Chicago brewery beer. The back bar is a hutch with a full bar array including Cruzan rum flavors, Patron Silver and Cafe, Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, Absolut flavored vodkas, and all the standard brands. There is a pool table for the hustlers and dreamers, a Touchtune Digital Jukebox, and an outdoor patio for the smokers and those who accompany dogs. The bartender Ashley was very accommodating and funny. She might bring your next cocktail before you've asked for it, which isn't a bad thing per se. You just have to tell her halfway through your beer that this one's going to be your last. Chef Sanford even came out and talked to some regulars. He also has a great touch with the food. Dock 633 is a great restaurant with a not so great price tag. My wife and I enjoyed several meals here during our month stay in Lake Placid. Each visit was a joyful culinary experience. Every dish is delicious especially for bar food, however, the price is a tad steep. You can quickly find yourself on the side of diminishing returns if you load up your tickets. I would recommend this place to most people with the caveat being to watch what you pay for! read more

Maybe the food is good, I wouldn't know. We entered the place and it was sheer chaos. No one acknowledged us as we stood there waiting to be seated for 10 minutes. I saw at least 5 employees running food, drinks and waiting tables, yet not one seemed to care that we were there. So we left, drove 10 minutes north and had a great meal with great service at The Watering Hole in Sebring. Too bad for Dock 633, because we are locals. read more

Friday night post thanksgiving. Arrived 5.30 pm as we had 3 small children with us. Their food arrived in good time. However the adults food took way to long. The waitress told us several times it was being plated. By 7.15 finally told them to box it for takeaway. The waitress apologized and said this was happening regularly and some patrons had just walked out. We have been regulars here for 10 plus years ,and obviously experience d some delays. Never this long .!! We were excited that the menu had change and looking forward to something different . The food was so so, and there was no recompense for the delay. So close to us for a quick meal and drink. We will be going further afield in future. I do realize staff shortages are a problem right now but the owners need to step in and step up. read more

The food was great & the staff were friendly & prompt. The atmosphere is really great - perfect Florida vibe. I had gator tail, something I miss now that I live out of state, and a grilled chicken sandwich. Both were really good. I hadn't gone to a restaurant since March of last year because I have a high-risk child at home & they definitely do not take ANY precautions at all. Not just at this restaurant, but in the whole county. Because I was there in FL due to a family tragedy, I calculated the risk & planned accordingly. I also want to point out these are good people; they truly believe in their heart of hearts it's just the flu. So just a head's up. They have a really great bartender, too. Cool place. The best coleslaw I've ever had and the fish tacos were excellent. I couldn't even finish the portions were so large. My husband had the bang bang shrimp and loved it too. Our server, Julia(Julie?) was very attentive. read more

Food was awesome - service from bar, server and even manager was undesirable. We ordered a picture of draft beer, there was no ice in the cone so it got warm. We brought it to the manager's attention. They all got real defensive and ended up kicking us out. read more

Awesome service and awesome prices! This has become dinner for me 1-2 times per week. The bartenders are awesome! They are very quick and tentative in getting you a refill and your food. My favorite thing on the menu is the buffalo chicken wrap; it's my go to! I've also had their chicken wings and quesadillas. Both are very good as well, but the chicken wrap will always be at the top of my list. I plan to stay a frequent customer here so long as they stay providing great food and even better service. Stopped in for Lunch today our server was Anita who was wonderful as was the food. My wife had a chocolate martini that was perfect and the loaded nachos were the tastiest we've ever had. Can we just say absolutely horrible. We decided to give it another try and it disappointed again. We phoned in for pick up and ordered 2 med well burgers and got 2 raw burgers and raw fries and what happened to our lettuce tomato pickles onions and cheese??? No thank you, never again. read more

Only visit Lake Placid area occasionally to buy caladium bulbs. This is only our second visit. Love this place. Best fish tacos I've ever had. Homemade potato chips also best ever. This place is a very dark bar, not a restaurant, and has no lake view. Only high stools were available. Parking lot full with elderly regulars having a great time. We found our own seat when no one greeted us at the door. We waited and no one greeted us at our table either. No menu. No water. We decided we weren't wanted and left after enough time passed that we could've cooked our own lunch. Their "specials" sign said $2 margaritas on Tuesdays and $2 tacos. Taco salad was also posted. We were hoping to be well-fed and join some of the other high reviewers. Their loss-we found Jaxson's and were very happy. Jaxson's was happy too and matched their margarita prices! read more

We were house-hunting and stopped in for lunch with our realtor. It was about 1 p.m. and the place was doing a brisk lunch trade. It's a good looking place, the service was good and the food was delicious. I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap and the Hubby got a fish fry. The food was hot and there was plenty of it. be advised that the prices are a little higher than some lunch places. Figure $10 plus per person at the cheapest. I understand it becomes more bar than restaurant in the evening and can get quite loud, but for lunch, the noise level was fine. We'll be back. read more

What can I say, this is the best restaurant in the Lake Placid area! Great atmosphere and events every night. Our order started with the Big Dock Onion, large enough for 5 people to share with leftovers! The Dock Sauce is amazzzzing! I ordered the Dock Burger, which is two 1/2lb patties loaded with thick cut bacon, a fried egg, and cheese, and I could only finish half. It was so good I ate the other half for breakfast! Others had the wings which were much more appetizing than Applebee's or other restaurant chains, and the chicken tacos were delicious. Even met the owner and he made sure everything was to our liking! Between the atmosphere, the food, and the great prices, this place was a slam dunk! Probably the best bar in Lake Placid; clean, good food, and friendly people. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak and my boyfriend ordered the Dock Double burger that comes with an egg and bacon.
