    a sandwich and chips

One word.....OUTSTANDING I was in this area of Tacoma, Washington and searched YELP for a lunch spot. Sure enough, Yelp did not let me down. The Dock Street Deli is located in an area known as West of the Waterway. Hard to find, just follow your GPS. Parking is limited, A pay lot is about a block away. About 2.00 per hour. The deli is located behind The Henry condo building. Tucked away with not much fanfare or signage, the deli is inside the rear of the building with a view of the waterfront. They have a variety of specialty sandwiches, and a beer and wine selection. I chose the Nutty Chicken sandwich, comes with chips. St first nite my taste buds exploded with flavor. Cubed mairinnated chicken with pineapple chucks on a special wheat bread. OMG, sooooo good. If you get the opportunity, search this place out, worth the hunt.

I was super excited to try this place out seeing as the convenience of me being just upstairs, and boyyyyy am I glad they opened. I got the nutty chicken sandwich, pasta salad and caprese Skewers. Everything is so bountiful in taste it's like the sky opened and dropped everything fresh picked on my plate. The staff is extremely friendly the lady came out asked me how it is and told me that the sandwich is an original recipe from the previous deli in the 80s! So I got a fun history lesson for the day as well, extremely good definitely coming back.

Everything we've tried here is super delicious, the atmosphere is great with a beautiful marina view, and the staff/owners are very friendly as well. So far, we've tried: the Cuban, the Italian, Pastrami, Meatball, Nutty Chicken and their "build your own" option, plus their pasta salad. All were exceptional - plenty of fillings and very fresh ingredients. This will be our new "go to" sandwich shop! :)

Wow this place is so good. Super fresh sandwiches and very friendly staff. Sandwich comes with chips or caprese skewers. I got the avocado turkey sandwich and my boyfriend got the pastrami. Typically I am often disappointed with minimal meat in deli sandwiches - not at all the case here! Both were packed full of deli meat and incredibly fresh. 10/10. We will be back!

Took my mom here straight from the airport (she's visiting from NY). So glad we came here, it's my first time here too. We're already spoiled by suburban NYC delis. And this spot for was amazing!!! Brooklynite approved!! Loved the freshness of the food, the side salad options, the Tacoma waterfront views and spacious seating. And coffee is well brewed along with very gracious quick service. The staff is super friendly. So quite frankly this will be one of Saturday morning spots. So tranquil too!

Love supporting new places and with outdoor seating on the water this place was the perfect option for a Saturday Summer lunch. We ordered the Turkey Bacon Avocado on sourdough and Italian sandwiches. The ingredients were fresh and quality with a thoughtful assembled presentation. The Turkey has sprouts which are so delicious and hard to find on sandwiches these days. The service was friendly and welcoming with the chef coming to check on how our meals were. Looking forward to coming back for more light lunches this Summer.

But then we looked cross the street on 1st, where there used to be an Anthem, and even though it was already 6pm, this sandwich shop was still open and...there was a BINGO game happening. Whaddya know? So we took a peak in and they were not only serving sandwiches but they also had a cooler full of microbrews and kombuchas, beer on tap, wine, and a whole list of cocktails made from prosecco and other non-hard liquors like Amaro. Truly something for everyone. So we gave our order to the sweet human at the counter and took our seats I'm not kidding, my Amaro sour was one of the best cocktails I've had in a while in Tacoma and so were the pretzel sticks. I want my cocktails cold, tart, and refreshing with a little kick of funk or herbs and I want my pretzels salty. You wouldn't think that's such a high bar to clear but you'd be surprised. Sandwich Starr nailed it. Our Zatan sandwich was tasty but even though the bread felt a little stale. Otherwise the decor is kinda '90s coffee house and they've got bingo! Overall, this is an odd spot but the drinks are really good and it's got heart and it's the heart that makes it Tacoma.

So as my go to guide I yelped it! And up popped Kusher Bakery. You know I had to go and today we went there. It's an Eastern European bakery, and grocery store with products from multiple Eastern Europe countries. The selections are very good and then there is the bread baked daily except on Sunday. A bonus is the fact all the fresh baked bread can be sliced for you or you can take it home and slice it yourself. Having this service is great. Dark rye, 12-grain, and others that are....... well too many and all looked delicious. There is fresh baked Lavash, soft and delicious and many of the breads were still warm and fresh. The fresh piroshki! Awesome to say the least, Chicken, Cheese, Cabbage, and Apricot were available and hot. Look you can go to the other market on 70th and get very good stuff and pay quite a lot more, or go to Kusher and get a better selection and pay reasonable prices. Yes it is smaller but bigger is not always better and having this small place is a positive. For me Kusher wins hands down. So go, look around and get some awesome stuff.

My bf reminds me of this store we randomly came across one day. It has what the store in Lakewood has but more grocery options. Cute and homey store. There are many options of trinkets, chocolates (alcohol ones too) , drinks, mustards, curry ketchups, gummy candy, bread, gravy etc. I did notice they don't carry any Maggie products for gravy and such. I know that was my bro's first question as he prefers that brand lol. The staff is really kind. The deli dude was patient with me as I told him I have a lot to order. I met the female owner and she's a sweetheart. The cashier lady was also so helpful as I couldn't find a specific brand candy. She pointed me in the right direction and luckily there was enough :) There's plentiful parking in the lot, and can get pretty cramped when busy as it's not a big store but has many options.
