I've ordered sandwiches from Dock Street deli to be delivered to me through Uber Eats and while the price stacks up quick with the delivery fees and taxes, their sandwiches have always been worth it ! Pictured are my favorite sandwiches (the monte cristo and nutty chicken) and the complimentary side I always get (Caprese skewers). I always enjoy a good Monte Cristo but this one is especially tasty thanks to that creamy and dreamy Brie cheese that pairs so well with the turkey and berry chutney! It tastes heavenly! The nutty chicken is unlike anything you'll find anywhere else- it's chicken teriyaki with dill, peanuts, pineapple, lettuce and tomato on swirled rye bread and while that may sound wild, it is called the nutty chicken after all and it's wildly delicious!! Unless you're deathly allergic to peanuts or anything different and exciting, you have to get this sandwich at least once. If you're one of the unadventurous nay-sayers I guess that's okay...I'm sure Bigfoot doesn't believe in you either :P The little caprese skewers you can get with the sandwiches are so stinkin' cute and yummy as well ! Such a nice healthy mini snack. They also make a mean Nutella Banana Sammich for the kiddos...when I'm out of Nutella or just too lazy to make it myself, I like to order those for my triplets Simon, Alvin and Theodore. Cute location (I remember seeing the deli when we toured this wedding venue!) Indoor seating area is pretty simple, just a few tables and chairs. I was in class at UWT and found it to be a nice walk (~10mins). I enjoyed my Reuben sandwich and loved my caramel latte! I liked that they offered caprese skewers as a side option instead of chips. This tiny Deli is located in one corner of a larger performance/event space with a view of the waterfront. We stopped by for lunch and really enjoyed the sandwiches that we ordered. I'd easily give them a 4.5 stars for the food. Tasty, freshly prepared, and reasonably priced. Unfortunately I'd give them 3 stars for ambiance and accessibility. They are in an event space and have a few tables generally in front of their counter. They are subject to the disruptions from groups setting up for events. (When we were there a rock group was setting up on risers.) They are located on the back (water side) of a large commercial/residential block. Although there was a sign seemingly directing us into the parking garage, we never did find a route from the garage to the deli and ended up walking the entire outside perimeter of the building to find the entrance. Clear signage would be a big plus. So good food, but challenging location. Probably really nice in the summer when outside seating along the waterfront would be available. Worth a stop if you are in the neighborhood. read more

Dock Street Deli makes a pretty decent sammich! We were planning a kayaking adventure and wanted to pack a meal we could take with us on a tour of the Nasqually waterway. Though our tour was canceled (due to inclement weather), we still picked up our food--Lu ordered an Italian; I ordered the Turkey bacon. The sandwiches were similar to those you'd see in NY/NJ (lotsa meat, light on cheese). We picked up our sammiches which were ready when we planned to pick up. The Dock Street Deli is located in an area known as West of the Waterway. Hard to find, just follow your GPS. Parking is limited, A pay lot is about a block away. About 2.00 per hour. The deli is located behind The Henry condo building. Tucked away with not much fanfare or signage, the deli is inside the rear of the building with a view of the waterfront. They have a variety of specialty sandwiches, and a beer and wine selection. I chose the Nutty Chicken sandwich, comes with chips. St first nite my taste buds exploded with flavor. Cubed mairinnated chicken with pineapple chucks on a special wheat bread. OMG, sooooo good. If you get the opportunity, search this place out, worth the hunt. read more

I was super excited to try this place out seeing as the convenience of me being just upstairs, and boyyyyy am I glad they opened. I got the nutty chicken sandwich, pasta salad and caprese Skewers. Everything is so bountiful in taste it's like the sky opened and dropped everything fresh picked on my plate. The staff is extremely friendly the lady came out asked me how it is and told me that the sandwich is an original recipe from the previous deli in the 80s! Dock Street Deli is primarily a take out sandwich shop housed within a larger building on Thea Foss. They may allow seating now but I'm not sure since when I was here we were just on the end of lockdown. But even if you can't and you pick a nice day to go then you can enjoy your meal at nearby outside benches on Thea Foss. I ordered their Italian sandwich which I really enjoyed. Thinly sliced salami and olive oil as a topping made this sandwich worth while in getting for me. It may sound like to go here from the way I made it sound that it was an effort and I guess to some it may be if you want to avoid paid parking or nearby parking in which there really isn't so that's something to think about when attempting to go here. There is free parking at the Tacoma Dome Station but it is a little bit of a walk so it's really up to you if it's worth it to you to pay to park. I do have to say compared to other cities paid parking the meter rates are relatively inexpensive. read more

Everything we've tried here is super delicious, the atmosphere is great with a beautiful marina view, and the staff/owners are very friendly as well. So far, we've tried: the Cuban, the Italian, Pastrami, Meatball, Nutty Chicken and their "build your own" option, plus their pasta salad. All were exceptional - plenty of fillings and very fresh ingredients. This will be our new "go to" sandwich shop! :) read more

The location cannot be beaten. I got a great table outside near the water, and luckily it was a sunny day in Washington State. Clam Chowder is delicious. We saw multiple people just ordering that for a to-go order. Bloody Marys are good, and you have to upgrade and get the shrimp. Friendly service and helpful hostess. Took my mom here straight from the airport (she's visiting from NY). So glad we came here, it's my first time here too. We're already spoiled by suburban NYC delis. And this spot for was amazing!!! Brooklynite approved!! Loved the freshness of the food, the side salad options, the Tacoma waterfront views and spacious seating. And coffee is well brewed along with very gracious quick service. The staff is super friendly. So quite frankly this will be one of Saturday morning spots. So tranquil too! read more

Love supporting new places and with outdoor seating on the water this place was the perfect option for a Saturday Summer lunch. We ordered the Turkey Bacon Avocado on sourdough and Italian sandwiches. The ingredients were fresh and quality with a thoughtful assembled presentation. The Turkey has sprouts which are so delicious and hard to find on sandwiches these days. The service was friendly and welcoming with the chef coming to check on how our meals were. So I'm from the east coast and I am super picky about sandwich places. I found this place on a Facebook recommendation and boy am I glad we came. The sandwich was absolutely delicious (I got the roast beef and my boyfriend got the Ruben which he said was also great). It's a fairly big dining area with sliding glass doors and right on the foss waterway which makes for a great atmosphere as well. We were staying in the marina and decided to invite some friends to lunch on our boat. We saw online that Dock Street Deli had some pretty amazing cheese trays so we thought that would be perfect. We walked up to to the deli and ordered the cheese tray but we were told that usually they need 24 hours for them. It's kind of a catering kinda thing I suppose. We said we'd just come back with our friends and get some sandwiches instead but the guy in charge said that if we wanted a cheese tray, he'd make it right then. I said that would be great and he asked what kinds of things we wanted on it. We agreed to come back in 20 minutes and when we did......OH MY GOD!!!!! It was AMAZING!!!! We sat on the back of the boat with our friends and ate and then still had enough left over for TWO more lunches. That cheese tray was 8 lunches total. I will definitely go back....next time I'll order ahead of time though. read more
