This is the spot Southern Connecticut! Returned to my old stomping grounds in Milford recently on business and saw this spot from I-95. Then a coworker recommended going here. So glad we did. Amazing beer and really solid pub grub. Let's start with the Chowder in a bread bowl. Very thick, plenty of clams and bowl was very tasty. As good as any in San Fran. We also had wings, pretzel bites and pizza. Everything was tasty. Brews are fantastic too. We tried about 4 different drafts and no complaints. My favorite was Usual Suspects, a not too bitter IPA. Secret Handshake was my friend from LA's favorite. Service was great, in fact I credit our server (who looked like she could be AOC's younger sister) for helping us select the right beers for each person. My wife and I had some unexpected free baby sitting so wanted to do something more than a dinner for date night. I googled looking for trivia that night and found this place on the Best Trivia Ever website. Surprised I hadn't heard of it before since it's near where I work. Beers were decent. Food was standard bar/beach fare and most of it sounded better than it was, but we didn't leave hungry and really you're not going here for the food. My daughter and I came here after a beach day. I have been here a couple times with friends and the vibe is great. The brewery has three levels with and a bar on all levels. My daughter and I sat on the second level which overlooks the bottom level and the Housatonic River. There are a variety of games to play, a beach area which is situated on the bottom level, and different seating areas for parties or for big groups. The beach area is served by a food truck at the bottom level and not by the restaurant itself. The menu from the food truck is a little different from the restaurant menu. I have dined at the beach area before and the food was good. I actually liked the food better from the food truck than the restaurant itself. You get to enjoy the sand and the beautiful Housatonic River while eating. It's nothing like enjoying your meal and rubbing your feet in the sand. My daughter and I ordered a pizza and chicken wings. The wings were half Korean Barbecue and the other half was Garlic Parmesan. The wings could of been fried a little longer and needed more seasoning but other than that, the wings we're good. The pizza was good to but the sauce was lacking flavor. The customer service was good and are waiter was nice and very pleasant. It can become very busy so food might come out at a slower rate but you have the beautiful view and atmosphere to enjoy. We enjoyed the motha clucka nashville hot chicken sandwich with fries, drinks, and dessert (brownie with ice cream and whipped cream). They also have loaded nachos, wings, salads, pizzas, burgers, and more! Plentiful parking in the lot or nearby streets. Service was great. We went on Wednesday for trivia night! Love the ambience of Dockside - right by the water and plenty of boats nearby. Perfect for a sunset dinner or to grab some drinks during the day. I recently visited for the first time and I loved my experience! Our service was good. I highly suggest making reservations on the weekends because now in the summertime it gets super busy. Expect to wait a bit for your food. For an appetizer, we got the loaded nachos (added pulled pork) and they were incredible! Such a large portion as well. I got the lobster roll and it was good but I was expecting more lobster for the price ($32). See my picture for reference - the left side of the roll is bare. I came here for lunch with two past co-workers and had a lovely time. Our waiter was super patient and very available. Nice waters to the table good timing on the food and drinks. I had a Cobb salad that was absolutely divine I added avocado and I always hesitate on bacon but this one had super crispy perfect bacon on it. Had a few beers and the chicken sandwich with a colleague of mine. The beer was great but the chicken was a bit dry. I really like the location. The dock side establishment was well kept and provided a very nice vibe for a post work meal. Now to the service: considering the only thing our server did was take our order then sit and chat with her friends - pretty sad given there was only 4 other tables being used in the place. We even had to get the attention of the bartender to check out. The kitchen staff and the busser did more than our server. We were never even asked if we wanted another beer or water refill. read more

First time here we sat by the water and it was beautiful. Our waitress America was very nice and checked on us often. We ordered nachos and added guacamole and pulled pork very disappointed. Barely no cheese or pulled pork on the nachos. For $21 if I wanted chips and guacamole I would've gotten that instead I told the waitress but nothing was done. I also got the cali flatbread that was good and my friend got the pesto chicken sandwich she felt there was too much pesto that made the bread soggy. We got frozen drinks u can taste the alcohol. Excellent food, ambience, and service! My husband and I were looking to try a new restaurant near the water because it was a perfect spring day. I'm so happy we decided to try Dockside! Everything was tasty from my Just Peachy Mule, to the fried calamari, to the oh so delicious hot buttered lobster roll with fries. The menu has something for everyone whether it be food or drink. Food was good. Sadly, this was my first time and the service really stuck. We waited over 20 minutes for a server and when the hostess that sat us came over, she did apologize but said they were very busy - however, there was a lot of open seats. I sure would hate to see if that place was packed how long we would have waited. Our waiter was servicing tables inside, on the deck right outside the bar and on the lower part. We saw people come in, get waited on and served before a waiter even came to our table and that is because my husband went and said something to the hostess. Then my husband got his beer, the food came out and my husband had to go and ask for my ice tea that I never received. Certainly, not a good first-time experience. If it was for the fact the food was good, I wouldn't even consider coming again but will give it one more try at another time. A suggestion would be to have assisted waitress/waiters to each area instead of having them covering the inside, upper deck and lower deck. It would also be helpful if they had name tags. read more

Went for lunch with a large party (12 people). Keep in mind this is a BREWERY. Everyone orders a drink and my husband orders a beer. Drinks come out, except his beer. Okay, that happens so we wait. And wait. And wait. I ask the waitress..."oh right! We ran out of that. I forgot to tell you" Gee thanks. So we order him another beer. And we wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. Until he finally goes to the bar to get his own drink. My father in law tells her (while she is just chit chatting away with the table next to us) that she can cancel his sons beer as he is going to the bar to get his own. She passes my husband as hes coming back and said "I will cancel the one you ordered and won't charge you for it.". No apology. No acknowledgement. Nothing. Food comes out and an order of cheese quesadilla that no one ordered comes out she is confused and says to my brother In law (at the other end of the table) "I forgot the guy with the hats beer twice so just keep this." Never checked on us. Brother in law had to hunt her down to order more drinks. Had to hunt her down for the bill. Her excuse was it was her first day back. Not. Our. Problem. Food we decent. Saw on social media that they had martini flights and had to make our way over! Their flights featured a regular espresso martini, a black cherry martini and the Pom Pom which was like a cosmo but with pomegranate juice! We also indulged in the Philly egg rolls and the wood fired Italian wings that had olive oil Parmesan and rosemary! If you've ever been to dockside, you know how spacious they are with outside igloos for the winter season and two different inside rooms! We were seated near the fireplace which made our experience nice and cozy! There weren't too many people there so our food came out pretty fast which was awesome cause we were starving! Such a cool spot for lunch, drinks, or dinner! My friends booked one of their igloos here for dinner with girl friends, and it was so fun to sit in our own little secluded area with a fun theme inside. Our server was great as was the food and drinks! I got the jalapeño Margarita which was very tasty. We also got the Buffalo chicken dip (which comes in a bread bowl - yum) and nachos. Both were great. They have an eclectic menu with a vast variety of unique pizzas, salads, small places, sandwiches, and so much more. This place was packed on a Thursday, and for good reason. They have an extensive food menu and lots of beer offerings. Because we didn't have a reservation we had to sit in the bar area, which was fine. It was a rainy evening so the outdoor areas were closed but I hear the multiple levels that overlook the water are a lot of fun on sunny days. Let's start with the beer list. Being that I'm from out of town I had to go with the Dockside beers. I had the MacAttack, Tomorrow's Dream and Feelin' Juicy. All were IPA's but the last was my favorite, being that it was a hazy juicy. They also do lagers, ales and sours. If these don't tickle your fancy, they have plenty of guest beer offerings. The TV screen displaying the options was 4 screens long. We went a little crazy with the food because so many things sounded good. My favorite item were the Philly Egg Rolls. Such a fun way to eat it and they were delectably crisp. The General Tso's Cauliflower was packed with flavor and made us feel a little healthier haha. The Arthur Avenue Flatbread was essentially just 2 slices of pizza stacked on top of each other so ordering an actual pizza might be a better call but we enjoyed the meatballs and melty provolone inside nonetheless. I could see myself being a regular here if I lived in the area. read more

Location is the main thing about Dockside Brewery. The view along the shores of the great Housatonic is a total killer. The various decks and dining rooms at the Brewery are filled with happy people. The same goes for the outdoor shoreline tables. There are fine brews, including an excellent selection of IPAs. For wine drinkers, I found a couple of more-than-acceptable selections. The food? Not so great. I went for the lobster cobb salad and was served a really mediocre salad with some chunks of lobster on top. According to reports from table-mates, the "southwest caesar" was just sort of meh. It's clear that the best option here is to order a simple appetizer, or nothing at all, and to dine elsewhere. Still, for its location Dockside Brewery is definitely worth a detour. read more

What a place! I recently came here with my girlfriend and her family, and we were not disappointed. The location is absolutely incredible, and the name Dockside is not a misnomer. Located right on the water, the harbor views from the lower level tables at sunset were awe-inspiring. The weather was beautiful as well, which made dinner here one of the most pleasant meals I can remember. The ambience was also perfect. It was just the right combination of lively but not outlandish. The atmosphere was fun and full of energy but not obnoxiously loud and precluding conversation. There are multiple bars, but in my opinion the outdoor bar on the second tier is the one to be at! The food was unbelievable. For apps, we did the Philly Egg Rolls, Fried Pickles, and Tuna Nachos. Everyone was raving about all of it. For dinner, I opted for the lobster roll, which was incredible. They packed a TON of lobster into the roll, which was absolutely delicious. The drinks were great, too. I did a couple extra spicy margs, which were perfect: not over-the-top sweet, but not too dry either. Given that this is a brewery, we had to try the beer as well. On the lighter side, we did the El Capitan, which was uncharacteristically flavorful given it's a lager. On the heartier side, we did the Feelin' Juicy IPA, which really packs a punch and pleases the taste buds. Definitely recommend all of it. Lastly, I was very pleased with both the wait staff and the bartenders. They were very nice and helpful, and they were frequently coming around to check in with us to see if we needed anything. We never felt like we were waiting to refill on drinks or food. Overall, I don't have a bad thing to say about this place. The views are stunning, the food and drinks are great, the ambience is energizing, and the staff is polite, knowledgeable, and speedy. Definitely a must-visit if you're in the area!
