Such a great restaurant. Beautiful view of the water and cedar point in the distance. I got the perch tacos ($11) and my boyfriend got the shrimp tacos ($9). My perch tacos were incredible! And my boyfriends shrimp tacos were really great too. Only downfall would be the portion size. You only get two tacos but they really are worth it. We considered getting more. They have walleye tacos which actually looked amazing but the price varies based on the market price, they were $13 today which isn't too bad. 10/10 would recommend if you're in the area. read more

Not Boater friendly: The food and view at the Dockside are hard to beat but if you arrive by boat plan on paying the City of Sandusky $10.00 just to dock. When I go with a large group of people it might be a little more palpable, but when I'm alone or just want to pick up something quick to eat while enjoying being on the water your still going to have to pay. Seems counterintuitive for a City that is clearly struggling to promote its waterfront and downtown business that it is actually discouraging people to visit. This is clearly visible by looking at the 90% empty marina. I'm taking my business to the other numerous dockside restaurants that welcome boaters with free complementary short-term dockage. read more

Came into Sandusky the night before a day at Cedar Point. Wife wanted fish tacos and cane upon this on the yelp. All i can say is 'WOW'. It's literally on the water in a very unassuming spot. Small little joint with a window to order and a window to pickup. Nice liquor selection, gin and tonic for me and vodka cranberry for my wife. Seating is first come first serve and tables are set along the water. Fabulous tacos. My wife and i shared an order of the walleye tacos (tempura fried), tilapia tacos, and steak tacos. Two per order on a six inch flour shell. Just eat them as they come and don't try to change it up. They know what they're doing. This place is totally a local hang out as it's well into the town of sandusky and away from the hotel/chain restaurant strip where most Cedar Point guests would stay. Menu is basic but man they nailed what we were looking for. Definitely feel like we stumbled onto a secret treasure. read more

Went here this past summer while visiting my parents. The restaurant is a little place with all outdoor seating right on the water. The scenery of being right on the water is absolutely beautiful!! Definitely makes me miss living in the area. We were able to grab a table near the rocks to watch the sunset on a Friday night. You order your food & drinks at the stand & then they call your name to pick up your order. A little hectic on the evening we were there. Wish they had a little buzzer system so you could sit & wait for your food. Drinks are very reasonable & food prices were comparable to other local places for fresh fish. They were out of the "world famous" walleye tacos which was a bit disappointing, but the rest of the food was good. Hope to come back next summer to try them! read more

We were visiting family here from out of state. They brought us for lunch and it didnt dissappoint! First bring your appetite, oder any of the burgers and the seasoned fries. This place is amazing! owned by the same people as Zinc and crush this is a cheaper alternative to their other classy restaurants without loosing the quality and taste. This walk-up style dock side restaurant is so cozy and sweet! full bar and food service located right on the lake with a breath taking view! sunset happy hour and barge in the bay drink specials. I have not tried much food but the chicken tacos and nachos were amazing, I highly recommend getting the bucket of wine and relaxing on this cozy hillside! live entertainment on most weekends and friendly staff. First time in Ohio and having Walleye! This place is super cute. You are right on the water and have a beautiful view of Lake Erie and Cedar Point. It is very casual with only outside seating. We had the Walleye Tacos and they were delish. People around us seemed pretty happy with their food too. The fries and nachos looked great. You can even get beer and liquor here. Great little spot for burgers, fish tacos, salads and adult beverages. It is dog friendly, being outside. Food quality is way above what you would expect from basically a beach shack type place. Way above. The proprietors are the fine folks who bring us Zinc and Crush, so 'nuff said there. I had a cheeseburger today that was the best burger I've had in months. Quality takes time, so expect to wait about 10 - 15 minutes for your order to come up. Enjoy your beer, the view and whoever you're with (in my case the dog) in the meantime. read more

Came to Dockside Cafe for food and drinks after reading their great reviews. We got there later than we planned, and it was almost 8. Online it said they were open until 9. When we got there the sign said they were serving until 8. We were able to get a drink, but no food. I ordered a mojito that they have listed on their menu, which was one the worst mojitos that I've ever had. The view is absolutely beautiful and it's very nice to sit by the water. The downside to this was the amount of bugs swarming around us. read more

Our large extended family recently ate at this outdoor / covered patio cafe. They easily get five stars for ambiance. It was a beautiful summer evening and we sat right by the water, next to the dock, watching the boats come and go. Behind that was the lake, and the Cedar Point roller coasters rose up in the distance. They had a live acoustic duo playing blues and classic rock. The band added to the atmosphere without overwhelming. We could sit and chat, or pause for a moment and listen to the music while gazing out at the lake and sipping on a beer or a glass of wine. They get three stars for food, which was fine but unmemorable. Burgers, fried seafood, a few salads. Nothing great, but nothing wrong with it. For a great meal you can go elsewhere. But for a nice casual evening with family and friends, on a warm clear night this place is tough to beat. read more

First of all, I love the location and the simplicity of it all. Waterfront dining- outdoors- and you walk up to the kitchen/ bar area to order and pay for food, as it is cooked to order. It's waterfront fast food! Brilliant!! The walleye fish taco- my first experience, and it was DELISH. The fries were super salty, but I liked the herb blend. The steak tacos- omg! We came here the 2nd day since we missed it the night before. Well unfortunately, they sold out of the walleye and perch fish tacos so at least we got the grilled tilapia fish tacos. OMG, the fish tacos were delicious and it was nice with the mango plus avocado:) We also got the fries and Greek salad. It took a while since there was a line of people ordering food. However, my wife agreed that it was worth the wait. Get here early and you won't miss out on the perch or walleye like we did. Yum! When you come to Lake Erie you need to have perch. I'm not a fan of fish and this is pretty much the only fish I eat. So when I come home to visit I eat all the perch I can get. Dockside has awesome perch tacos! Great portion and they were super yummy. Their handcut fries have a really great Rosemary seasoning, and the small order is plenty for 2. They have lots of beers and drinks. The best part is the view of the Sandusky Bay and Cedar Point, it all open outside seating. read more

It was a beautiful place to eat outside.....it was just too cold and windy to enjoy it. The food was good when it was hot, but again it was cold outside, so our food cooled off fast! This place is a must try. It's a concession stand type of restaurant. You order at the counter and talk you food to the table. It's very casual, outdoor seating only but you have a beautiful view of lake Erie and you can see Cedar Point's coasters in the distance. We tried chicken nachos and a burger and fries. Such a great view of Lake Erie - super friendly staff. Watch out for the geese poop in the parking lot. If you're looking up or at the water for a second, you will step in a land mine. I told my kids to pay attention, because if anyone dragged salmonella back in the car we'd send them back home to stay with Grandpa and they'd miss out on the rest of the tour. It's that bad. Perhaps the lady at the local yoga/natural healing place should stop feeding the birds hot dogs...just a thought. Also, would be great if the walleye wasn't fried. And perhaps some hot tea or non-refrigerated red wine? That breeze is COLD and some kind of warm beverage would be choice. read more

Beautiful place to eat outdoors along the water of Lake Erie. I had the World Famous Walleye Tacos. The pico de gallo they use for them is to die for! (I'm from Texas so I have high expectations for my pico). They were amazing!!! I only decided to order them because of other Yelpers reviews. They make their own Idaho potato French fries which were extremely good as well. My friends got a burger which was $5 for a single (0.25 to add cheese) and quesadillas which run anywhere from $7.50-$10.50 (they have cheese, chicken, and shrimp that vary in price).This is definitely an affordable place if you're looking to eat some where near CP but not quite in the park. Next time I go to Cedar point I'll definitely be returning to this place, so YUMMY ;) The only downside that I could notice was that there were tons of bees near the soda machine in which they'd crawl up the soda nozzels. read more

This was one of our favorite finds this trip. We spent the day at Cedar Point and were looking for something good to eat. We pulled up Yelp and I think this was the 2nd or 3rd option closest to us, we checked out some reviews and what they had and loved that we got to sit on Lake Erie and eat so headed over this way. There was some sort of group gathering at the same time, but the restaurant kept it business as usual and our service was great. Reasonable prices and drink specials. I had a Mai Tai and my friend ordered what he thought was a flavored beer but turned out to be a alcohol flavored sparkling water that he really enjoyed. I had a burger and fries which were very enjoyable and my friend had something mexican. The music was enjoyable, it was great watching the storm in the distance and seeing the lights of Cedar Point as the sun set down. Love Love Love this place! read more

My wife and I happened upon this cafe on our way through Sandusky. We were looking for lunch near the water and Dockside did not disappoint. I honestly wasn't expecting much, but the service was pleasant and the food was great. On top of that, it's located right on the water next to a small marina - Cedar Point can be seen in the distance. They have a very limited menu, but what they offer, they do well. Dockside Café was awesome. We had the Perch Tacos and the alcoholic Punch! Everything was delicious and priced right. The views from the restaurant was great, You could see the island and Cedar Point peninsula. We sat on the dock itself since the seating near the restaurant was full. My daughter walked down the dock and notice some snakes on the rocks. They were black and swimming in the water. Sea snakes and protected by law is what we found out late by family from Sandusky.
