Took friends there for a nice anniversary dinner with a view. The view is still there but the food and service is not. At a 5:30 pm reservation the Salad bar had many totally empty bowls, no spinach, no lettuce, no broccoli, no beets, everything else picked over. The Ruben sandwich was a sloppy mess. After an ok dinner our waitress disappeared and we waited at least a half hour for the bill, never got it, had to get the check stand girls to figure out a bill. Still no sign of our waitress. I realize the resort does not cater to locals, so these locals will not be back. read more

There is some very good items on the menu, the salad bar is one of best around. Myself and 2 others in our party had the sesame crusted Ahi and it was disappointing because the liquid from the stir fry vegetables soaked the Ahi and created an unpleasant texture to the crust. Ahi needs to be dry and clean to have that sushi grade texture. A cabbage cup under the Ahi would have don the trick, IMHO. read more

I've recently had two poor experiences with Dockside. I came once with a group of people, we ordered one regular size Gooey, two dinners, and a personal Gooey. We ended up with two full sized gooeys and the table across from us got our personal sized one. We ended up not saying anything, figuring it was just a bad night for the poor waiter. However, my second bad experience there made me decide to never go back. I asked for a kids menu because I hungry enough to eat anything else and the waitress told me "I can't give you one, they're for kids 12 and under". Usually I can respect that, but upon further investigation of the menu, I realized they don't even have lighter options for adults. During that same dining experience, my friend tried to order macaroons, which are pictured on the menu and was met will "sorry, that's frustrating for us waitresses too, we don't actually have them." So she ordered a cake pop instead, which was dry and not satisfactory. It's a shame because I used to really enjoy dockside. It's gone downhill over the past few years and I would no longer recommend it to anyone read more

We have been to the Dockside Resturaunt inside the Coeur d Alene resort many times. The food is average and a bit overpriced but the deserts are very good. They offer gluten free options for you celiacs out there. All in all, the service is good, the view is good and the deserts arrived in a timely manner. Another good experience. read more

We (3) if us went lunch, as we approached I asked the hostess who was practically laying on the counter if they were serving clam chowder? Her response was, " uh, yeah I think so?" After being seated and looking at the menu, it clearly states that Dockside serves clam chowder EVERYDAY, but yet the hostess wasn't sure if they were serving it today? Connor was our server. Lack of personality doesn't even touch the nail on the head. We order our food, two of which ordered the clam chowder. We waited patiently for our food that was brought out to us by our server Connor. Prior to him bringing our food though we never saw him. He didn't refill our water until after he brought our food. After bringing our food, he never came back to ask how the food was, see if we needed anything, he was just gone. We eventually flagged him down asking him for a clean spoon for my brothers clam chowder. Connor response was, "Oh, I do apologize for that, I'll bring a new spoon." He never brought a new spoon! I took it upon myself to finally go get a clean spoon. Connor came and cleared our dishes, as clearly we were finished and still never mentioned the spoon, that he never brought?! Food was good, service from beginning to end was terrible. As someone who has worked in food and beverage for 15 years, Connor would not be a server, he'd be doing dishes at best. read more

I came into dockside Sunday evening and I had one of best expiriences. The hostesses were very nice and we had a great view. Our server lauren was so attentive to our needs and our appetizers and food came out at the right times, and of course the salad bar was amazing as always. My husdband and i with his brother and wife went out for dinner. Everything was going great . i ordered a 25 dallar margarita. It was good . half way thru i took a sip and felt a weird type a ice or at least i thought it was ice. Spit it out and it was a peice of Glass!!! Views from the lake were nice. Went for mothers day brunch. Food was average. Reminded me of anyother buffet. Desserts however were great. Did this year's ago and remembered ice sculptures and the place dressed up more. The "fancy" is how I justified the cost(then around $25-$30 per person). Usually very good, but my last experience was very disappointing because of the service. I explained my peanut allergy to my waiter and he was extremely condescending and rude about the menu when I asked which dishes were peanut free. They are not careful with allergies at the slightest. In addition, he brought our food out to the table cold and not at the same time. Also, he wouldn't come back to the table for 20 minutes at a time. They lacked the ability to care for an allergy, didn't care to accommodate, and took his sweet time to wait the 2 tables he had. read more

The food is average, but I have only been there for dinner once. I go there only for dessert. They have the best ice cream Sunday's ever. They are called "Gooies" and they sure do live up to there name. The regular size is great if you have a huge appetite or are sharing, otherwise the personal size is just right. My all time favorite is the Butterfinger one, it's out of this world. I'd stay clear of the Strawberry Shortcake one since it is just too much strawberry flavor and it gets boring after a bit. read more

We moved to Montana a few years back and decided to return to the Dockside for Christmas brunch 2013. I was especially looking forward to the huge chocolate-covered strawberries. Also, Jon E B was our server and when I kindly asked if anything could be done about our fettuccine (less than halfway eaten) he rudely replied saying we had "mowed down" way too much and there is nothing he could do. I would do zero stars if I could, we came in on my friends 21st birthday and as soon as we sat down we ordered our drinks after hearing they did NOT except temporary ID's even though the other bars and restaurants in CDA did and when we order our drinks we didn't receive it until after we received our food. Moving forward our waiter SASHA barely acknowledged us, the only time he stopped by is when we had to call him for help. I have been coming here for many years and have tried just about everything they have to offer. The food is good without being extraordinary. The staff is generally helpful and nice. My biggest complaint is that in 15 years of coming here (less and less often now), the menu and atmosphere has gotten a bit stale. It could benefit from a face-lift. For such a beautiful view the food and service sure doesn't match. I ordered the Mac and cheese which was nothing special. I felt it was very oily. My husband hoped for his usual of a buffalo burger however with the new menu it was no longer offered. He ordered a club and again it was nothing special. Instead of fries he requested a side salad which came in such a tiny bowl, we get a larger side salad at Mcdonalds. Food is pricey when there are too many other better choices in the area. Service is lackluster, almost if you seem to be a bother. The desserts look nice but we didn't want to add to our already pricey bill which was over 30.00 . It will be our last visit. read more

I was very disappointed in the gooey desserts. I'm born and raised in CDA and I used to come here at least once a month as it was always a tradition in my family and friends. But the quality of the gooey's has gone way down. Not enough ice cream or brownies. The gooeys are now overfilled with mouse and whip cream. It tasted like something I would spend $3 on at Dairy Queen rather than $12 at a 5-Star Resort. A few days ago my boyfriend and I finally signed a lease for a house after living in a motel for a few weeks after moving to the area. We decided mimosas were in order as a celebration, so we headed over to dockside. We decided to split a breakfast plate as we weren't too hungry. We had the tradition American breakfast which came with 2 pieces French toast, 2 bacon and 2 eggs... Price is a bit steep so I was insanely underwhelmed with my eggs not being cooked properly and in what appeared to be a 1/4 stick of butter. If you charge $11 for a simple and small breakfast than YOU SHOULD KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY COOK EGGS! The mimosas were small and inexpensive $4ea. The service was friendly and the hostess was also friendly... I would give 2 stars but holy hell, THE FRENCH TOAST IS EPIC and the view is phenomenal! I would stay away for the eggs here but I could eat that cornflake crusted French toast made on halloa-bread every day. read more

So disappointed. The Dockside has been a long standing favorite of ours for the last 20 years. We always stop when we come back to visit. We went for dessert and felt optimistic since it was a short wait. Waiter came after a bit of delay and we got out waters and I ordered coffee which is terrible but I forget in-between visits. I ordered the toll house pie and it was just awful. Tasted like it was microwaved. I've had better cookies at the mall. Waiter was inattentive and never refilled our water even with multiple requests. My dining companions had the large Butterfinger sundae which was good. The stars are mostly for the view and the nostalgia of going back. But sadly that might have been my last visit. read more
