Not impressed. This place is overhyped. We went on a Friday night around 5:30 - 6 pm. Had to circle the parking lot at least 4 times to find a spot. The wait for a table wasn't bad - about 20 minutes. The place is TOO DAMN CROWDED. There are tables placed right next to booths so that you end up having your meal with another guest who's right in your face. I guess they want to pack in as many people as they can to make that money. Our server was sweet, attentive and gave good suggestions. The food was just average. Not sure why the hype. I had the stuffed flounder with crab and shrimp. Just ok, kind of dry. The she crab soup was good. I also had 2 adult drinks which were nice and strong. My son ordered the crab cakes and they were meh. More breading than crab. Overall, this place is average not amazing and I definitely wouldn't wait an hour for a table here. read more

This place is, in my humble opinion, way over-rated. The wait is extreme and while normally, that would be a good thing but in this case it's just an indicator of a paucity of better choices in the area. Certainly edible - but it's more like a fish diner than a great restaurant. We loved our dinner at Dockside! I ordered the scored whole flounder with Cajun rice and black bean & corn salsa. The fish was moist and delicious. She crab soup. Never had it before, so I had no idea what to expect. Tasty and creamy goodness. So, good starter - check. I had the broiled seafood plate and it was more than I could finish. So, good portions - check. The fish was simple but well prepared. The shrimp had a dusting of flavorful seasonings and were a nice surprise. This was apparently their third or second night open and there was a big crowd. This resulted in a bit of a wait but the service was good, even though it was clear they were very busy. The food was ALL amazing. The free cornbread was to die for (this from a true southerner)! We had fried shrimp and scallops. They were lightly fried and scallops so sweet. Cajun fried rice was amazingly flavorful. We also had the honey bourbon grilled chicken which was amazing. It is apparently a VERY busy and popular place. We went right at 4pm when they opened and were sat right away. The waitress said it was a slow night as only a few table last were open when we left at 5pm on a Wednesday. She said there is regularly a 2 hour wait and they serve 600 plates a night! If you are in Beaufort well worth the trip! Go early if you do t want to wait! read more

You get 6 for $11 bucks. I ordered the Pina Coloda and the poor could have been a little heavier. Our experience was wonderful even with the busy weekend of Shrimp Festival. The restaurant is located overlooking a marsh sound waterway. Was greeted promptly, put in our name for 1/2 hour wait. Sat at bar to order a couple drinks during our wait and was seated within 20 minutes. Our waitress greeted us immediately with a very cheerful attitude. We ordered the fried green tomato to start which were cook great and came with a vegie relish ontop. My wife ordered the two lobster tails with backed potato and corn on the cob. Her plate was almost clean when finished. I ordered the crab stuffed flounder with a skewer shrimp and scallops which came with mashed potato and green beans. My plate was clean when it was cleared. Cute little stand, I had the super flounder burger. It was cooked just right and the flounder was delicious. Definitely fresh. The covid virus has caused them to do takeout only, this is where they can improve because we waited in a big line about 45 minutes. Yelp led us here and it was pretty good. The cornbread was delicious and the oysters on the half shell were exactly what I was craving. I got the sunset shrimp and my boyfriend got the seafood pasta. Both dishes were just so-so. After starting the meal with such good cornbread, I was surprised that the garlic bread that came with our pasta was so bad.
