We ate here a few weeks ago (sorry, just now getting around to reviews) - it was a Saturday night. We sat in the bar area, as there was a table available and the bartender promptly came over to serve us. I got the happy hour espresso martini ($6) - which was very good. I also ordered the cheeseburger sub and the wife got the seafood platter. For four drinks, an appetizer, and 2 entrees - the price was very reasonable (it helped that we went during happy hour - even on a Saturday). I am waiting to go back and have a Bloody Mary on a Saturday afternoon. That's my next review! read more

Stopped here randomly on our way back to NYC after a roadtrip. A local told us to go check it out and this spot genuinely made our whole trip. The waitress/bartender was so kind. We hadn't been to the Paxtang Grill in several years. We happened to go on Wing Night. We were informed that the wings come with French fries and the wings are served on top of them. My wife asked for the wings on a separate plate since she's not a soggy fries fan. Our server said it was "against the rules" but she could put them on a separate plate herself. The wings themselves were tiny (out of the freezer?) but tasty. The fries were, well, soggy as one would expect. I heard that they have good crab cakes. As someone who routinely goes down to the Baltimore area for crab cakes. Koco's, Faidley's, Pappas I'll give them a shot. read more

The name at first had me believing this was a Chinese restaurant. My husbands friend made the suggestion to try out. It certainly is a local restaurant in the area and pulling up to it looks pretty small. Once you walk in you walk past a local bar. It's ages but looks like a fun hang out spot. Seating to eat is in the back. It's probably sits about 30-40 people max. Menu has a large selection that you would expect from a cafe/bar. I had several choices to choose from from their salad selection. I went with the Mediterranean salad with grilled shrimp. Large serving, a bit more feta then I would have wanted but overall not too bad. My husband and another partner got the chopped steak with mash potatoes and Garvey. You won't leave hungry that's for sure. Service quick and it actually was pretty busy for lunch. I would go here again! read more

I stopped in here, yesterday, for a spontaneous business lunch. I colleague and I were discussing some things and we decided to relocate our discussion to a restaurant not too far from the office. I found the restaurant on Yelp, and was looking forward to trying some place I hadn't visited. We parked near the street so we entered through the bar and walked back to the dining area. The bar was pretty full for lunch time on a weekday. Looks like it's a favorite local hangout for a drink. The menu is similar to an mid-tier chain but they're a local place. Lots of sandwiches, including standards like tuna melts, French dips, burgers, and subs. But they also have some non-standard things like an avocado blt, turkey cranberry wrap, and a crab cake sandwich. Their entrees include steaks, pork chops, filet mignon, and several fish dishes. They also have several pastas including a lobster and shrimp fettuccine Alfredo that I'd be interested in trying for dinner. They have pretty standard appetizers: onion rings, fried pickles, wings, etc. They also have several salads including Greek chicken, salmon Caesar, and chef. There are daily specials, too. That's for drinks as well as food. Our server was very good and service was pretty fast. We were in a time crunch and were able to get in and out in less than an hour. I decided to try the wings. Our server warned me that they were small wings. I like small wings so I was ok. Plus, I ordered 24 for $11.95 to make sure there was enough. I had skipped breakfast and was pretty hungry. She asked if I wanted them extra crispy. I asked how much it itw as to have them extra crispy. She said it was free of charge. Woo hoo! I LOVE crispy wings. I readily opted for the extra crispy. I don't like sweet wing sauces so I can wavering between the garlic parm and the coal cracker. Our server recommended the coal cracker and it took her recommendation. The wings were very small. But they were perfectly fried to an extra crispy texture and they were well sauced. I thought they were fabulous. They came with a small side of a few celery pieces (which were fresh and crisp) and a container of ranch dressing (which I selected instead of blue cheese). I really liked the sauce. Because we had to go, I only finished about 1/3 of my wings. I took the rest to go. I ate about 1/3 more back at my desk and I actually found myself full and taking the last 1/3 home for breakfast the next day. Although they were not quite as crispy the next morning, they were still pretty good eaten cold right out of the fridge. I would DEFINITELY go back for wings. There are also a few other items that look really good. I can't believe I've worked in that general vicinity for so long and never had the opportunity to stop in. This will now be on my regular lunch restaurant rotation. The only drawback of the experience: they don't let you split up the wings into different sauces - no matter how many you purchase. I was hoping to split my 24 wings into 12 each of two different sauces. It's not allowed. Kind of a bummer but not enough to keep me from going back. Just to reiterate, the wings are very small. I jokingly told my husband they were like the wings off of Cornish game hens. Each one is only about 1-2 bites of chicken. So, plan accordingly. I can't wait to take my husband here. read more

It's been a while since I've been here. The main reason is because the place is a little small and when we go out after work, they don't usually accommodate for larger parties because of the size. We had a smaller group and decided to go for clams. Their $5 clam baskets was a decent size. I would say about a dozen or a few extra. We also ordered wings. The wings were okay but the chili flavor I got was just okay. I went with a toddler and his food was the last to arrive. Nothing against the waitress. She was great and also told us that she gave a mouthful to the cooks for making the child wait last to eat. I will be back again to try more of their weekly specials. We walked in to this place on a Saturday night at 6 o'clock without thinking about a reservation. We knew we weren't staying longer than dinner and didn't think it would be a big deal. The hostess said she was expecting a party of 13 and made us feel slightly unwelcome, even though the place wasn't that crowded and there were plenty of open tables. The bar area seemed lively and was full. The service was great, and we were promptly served drinks and menus. We made our selections quickly and dinner was served quickly. We did not order appetizers. We ordered Broiled Stuffed Haddock, Foil Baked Fish with Veggies and a salad with Gnocchi and chicken. All were delicious. They have ample parking and a nice outside patio that would be great when the warmer weather hits. June 23rd was my birthday and we went there because I was hungry for their crab cakes and was really DISAPPOINTED in the crab cakes!!!!! I've been here a few times now and I feel a review is due. This place is known for wings, and since I like mine small and crispy, this is the main reason I come here. They are tiny but the wing night prices make make them worthwhile. The sauces are good and some flavors (like Cajun) are a dry rub (sprinkle). I really like the Hot and Hot BBQ flavors. Don't bother with the boneless wings. I mean they're good, just not great and they're the same breaded chicken nuggets you can get anywhere else. Chili, don't bother. French fries are ok but the gravy was lousy. The Greek Salad with chicken was awesome and the portion was quite large. The dressing tasted homemade and was probably used to marinate the delicious grilled chicken. Reasonably priced, definitely a favorite and reason enough to return. I hear they use this grilled chicken in all their other chicken sandwiches and wraps, so I will try some others on my return visits. Points off for poor draft selection (although good bottle choices), old bathrooms, and dated decor. Praise for tiny wings and great grilled chicken along with very friendly staff. I stopped for lunch on a Friday around 11:15--it was my first time here. I parked in the back, which is also where I walked in to the dining area. There is a bar area as well and you are welcome to sit in either area. There weren't too many people there at the time, but towards noon it starts getting busier. The waitress I had (the name on the receipt) was Ashley, and she was amazing. She was so full of energy and was very attentive. She's a little rough around the edges, but I loved her vibe--she makes you feel very welcome. The menu was not huge, but you can find something you'd like. I chose a simple burger with mayo, bacon, lettuce and tomato. It came with two patties and fries and both were delicious!! One of the best burgers I've had in the area. I called to let them know but whomever I spoke with on the phone refused to let me speak to a manager and seemed uninterested that they got someone violently ill. This place is a gem. I have been going since I was a kid. As an adult, I appreciate the diverse beer selection and well priced meals. This establishment has ample parking around back with an entrance at both the front and rear of the building. My favorite item on the menu is the Mediterranean Salad. I had a work happy hour here yesterday and it went very well! The manager Lynn worked with our group and called us several times leading to the event to make sure that we were all on the same page and they could accommodate our group of about 15 people. While there we ordered nachos, loaded chips, wings (5 flavors, cheese sticks, and of course fried pickles). And I have to say that everything I tried was yummy! And the service was very quick! It was an overall great experience. The wings were all small but for 0.35 cents per wing (on Wednesday) you shouldn't expect a huge wing in my opinion! I thought this should be my first review, since I've been coming to the grill for nearly 15 years. It's your typical neighborhood bar but with far better food than typical 'bar food'. My go-to has always been the Greek Salad w/ grilled chicken...the homemade Greek dressing is awesome, tons of feta and large enough to share(unless you're really hungry). I also love their wings- they are smaller wings so they may not appeal to those large wing lovers, but the sauces are great- the hot BBQ has become my favorite. Great sandwiches.. The Ruben and Grilled Chicken Avocado club are great, and if the soup of the day is the homemade Chicken Rice- you have to try it!! Daily specials including Thurs night Delmonico w two sides for $12.99 can't be beat!! The bartenders and waitresses are always friendly and attentive. It does get pretty noisy because the place is always packed, but that shows how great their food is! I think my only complaint would be the small selection of beer on tap but they make up for it with an extensive bottle selection and daily speciality drink specials including the Paxtang Punch! Ordered takeout for dinner this evening. Order was screwed up. Second time in the last month. Called and spoke to the owner. Everything was fine. He offered to comp the screwed up item. Drove back to get it fixed. The same waitress who waited on me helped me again. She asked what happens to my order. As I'm explain to her the owner yells "I said sorry!! Want me to comp your entire meal??!!" Quite rude!! I was simply telling the waitress what had happened as she had asked. My Grandfather an immigrant who came to this country with a few dollars in his pocket and started this business 60 years ago. He and his 2 sons (my uncles) busted their ass working day and night to make their business a success. My Grandfather retired and passed his legacy to his sons. After decades and decades this thriving success was passed on to my Uncle's children. I've been going there since I was a toddler and 50 years later my family and I still go there as often as possible. Everyone patron is treated like family. How many independent bars/restaurants do you know that have been open for 60 years!!! All the food is freshly prepared on premises and is the best in town. People who complain the wings are small don't know that's what the patrons of many years want. It's not a sports bar. If you want bigger wings go to the Underdog who have the best wings in town! Their food is amazing. Go to a fast food restaurant and pay over $10 for a low quality meal or go to KFC and pay $40 for a 12 piece chicken bucket or pay $9.99 for 3 chicken tenders. Who's trying to become billionaires now Wayne L.!!! Or chain restaurants where all the food comes pre-maid in vacuum packed bags and heated up. And get treated as an average Joe no matter how many times you patronize them. At the Grill everyone is treated like family from the first time you go in. For 60 years everything is freshly made. You can get a hand cut steak for $15 and 2 sides. It costs more than that at a grocery store! How many bars/restaurants closed during the pandemic. Supported this local bar/restaurant during the original COVID lockdown and the summer by getting takeout. Went back during the most recent lockdown and they are seating customers despite the state prohibition. Also was in and the manager who was so grateful for our business during the initial lockdown was walking around without a mask. Do I like the mask and the restrictions?
