The girl on the phone asked why I didn't use the online ordering, I said it was because I was driving. She took my order and then asked for a credit card. I told her that I would pay cash when I arrived. She then said, I needed a credit card so I would show up. I told her I cannot give the card because I was driving. She said, well then you'll have to come in and order then because she was not putting my food in without a card. It's been a long time since I have been treated poorly by business. Newly renovated, friendly staff. This is one of my dad's favorite places on the West Shore. It's not far from I-83 at Lemoyne/New Cumberland and worth a couple minutes extra if you are looking for a place off 83. Plenty of free parking right across the street. Portion are very large. I've been here twice and had the deep dish pizza and a skillet meal. I enjoyed both. Great selection of beer on tap for Untapped fans. I have had the same server, Jayda, both times. Stopped at Dockside Willies because of the good recommendations and appetizing menu. Arrived at the restaurant on a busy Sunday night and our party of two was seated immediately. We waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged by our server but no one came to the table or acknowledged our presence. Spent the next 5 minutes seeing if any of the plentiful servers would make eye contact with us. After sitting at our table for 25 minutes without having a server say hello, we left. Other tables were being waited on and served and so it must have been an issue with our individual server. Would have liked to try their pizza but went to another area restaurant instead. The atmosphere itself is amazing, especially if you sit outside. This was my second time here and I got the fish and chips this time with Waffle fries. The fish and chips were amazing and huge! We also got onion rings, which were very crispy. I would not recommend the chicken parm, which I got the first time, because it was very chewy and tough. Service this time was TERRIBLE. Our server had to be told multiple times when we needed our drinks refilled, and it took an hour just to get our appetizers. We had to laugh because we asked for more mayo, and 3 refills on drinks, and our server had to write it down! It wasn't even that complicated. I tend to not like places with a mile long menu but I have to give it to them... This is a really cool spot. Huge place with tons of seating and a really cool patio overlooking the river. It's beautiful. We wanted to sit outside, so there was a wait, but it wasn't very long. You can also grab a drink from the bar while you wait and they have plenty of space to wait. The menu is like 20 pages so it's going to take you awhile to pick what you want, but great for families with a variety of tastes. Their bread bombs are a fantastic start. All the servings are HUGE so I recommend either sharing or expect to bring some home. It's insane. Their desserts were also amazing - the peanut chocolate cake was so drool worthy. Pretty good service all night too considering how busy they were! Definitely a fan favorite and will be added to our list as a regular stop. read more

We're somewhat new to Central PA, so we were unaware of Dockside Willies until today. We stopped by at around 3:00pm and were swiftly taken to an outdoor table with a front seat view of the Susquehanna! Scenery like that could cover up a lot of sins, but there was no need for coverups! The service and food were nearly perfect! We started with onion rings as an appetizer, and they accommodated our request for plain ranch dressing in addition to the chipotle dressing that comes with it. The onion rings were huge and delicious! We had to take it easy to avoid getting full prematurely. I ordered a medium Italian sausage pizza which size wise could have passed for a large pizza at some restaurants. The standout part of the pizza was the tomato sauce that included freshly chopped tomatoes. They don't refer to it as pizza sauce and I can see why. Very distinct and delicious! My wife ordered the mahi mahi tacos that were topped with a mango salsa and some seasoning. The mango was not quite ripe which was the only less-than-perfect part of our experience. The restaurant was nearly completely full during the mid-afternoon, and now I understand why. We'll be back for sure. read more

I repeatedly got the pepperoni/sausage and cheese, it wasn't bad. Also comes with dipping sauce. Order a pizza w/pepperoni, ham and sausage, wasn't a fan of the pizza. We visited on a busy Saturday and we got seated right away. We asked for an outside table but they didn't tell us that we can't use the umbrella so that was a bit troublesome because we had to get reseated. Their menu has many different options and their appetizers are quite exciting. We ordered both of their popular appetizers which is Crab Pretzel and River Rocks. The pretzel is very delicious and it has actual crab on top. The river rocks are little stromboli balls, taste good as well. We also had wings and fish and chips. Wings and fish are flavorful and the portion is huge. They have a long list of cocktail and their drinks look pretty. Waitor was fast and friendly It's a nice place for lunch/dinner. The food is really good, and it comes out SUPER quick! There are a bunch of options on the menu for all kinds of people, and they even have outdoor seating! It includes a bar, but kids are welcome to sit at the tables! The service is good, but the last time our waiter forgot a lot of items, like tartar sauce and vinegar. We had to remind him multiple times. There was more that he forgot, but that is just one person, I still encourage you to go there. This place was absolutely delicious. I'm from CA and I got to try some dishes I've never even heard of before and they were so good! We got the crab pretzel which I can't stop thinking about. The softest pretzel with a crab dip layer on it?! Yum!! We also ordered the River Rocks which were like tasty little pizza bites. I order the Crab Cake sandwich with the old bay fries and it did not disappoint. It was a fun environment with good music and lots of screens to watch the games. Took my mother here for Mother's Day this year... the food was so good. However, the service was rough. The server was verbally complaining about tables and taking tables in front of us. I was so uncomfortable I double checked on the internet what time they closed to be sure. It was 11 that they close and we had sat down by 905ish. She genuinely seemed like she didn't like us and we were nothing but a bother. And then we had asked for togo boxes because we felt so rushed out to leave we didn't even enjoy our entrees there. Came here Tuesday with my two young children, parents, and husband. We were able to sit almost immediately inside which worked for us. Can't remember our servers name but she was incredibly attentive and patient, especially with my mom and kids. The menu here is massive and honestly perfect for just about anyone Kids got kid meal pizzas, which were pretty huge for the price. My husband got a deep dish pizza which smelled really good, and my parents got the steaks. The side of veggies I got to taste: garlicky and delicious. I got the blackened mahi tacos. They had a hot slaw and mango salsa, and were the perfect balance of sweet and hot. They also were served with a wild rice which was totally unexpected and really perfect. Do not read too much into the overall rating, I am still in a bit of a restaurant slump. However, with this restaurant, I might be starting to come out of it. I had been referred to try here after hearing that the prices are fair and the food is good. The food is good, for a tropical vibe meets a country dive atmosphere. I first had to try their Crab Pretzel. The pretzel is delicious, but is slightly heavy on the meat and cheese. It is a big one too, maybe too big. If you are a light eater, this is good enough to have as a main course alone. Next, I had their Mango lemonade and their Big Willie burger. The former is delicious in every way. It has great mango flavor. As for the burger, the meat, bacon, and everything in it harmonizes well. My complaint is that the bread is too dense. You have to get through 3 inches of bread just to eat this thing. I would also come here early as this restaurant fills up fast. For good reason. The service is fast, the staff is friendly, and the views of the river add to the tropical vibe that this restaurant strives for. I have also heard that they have a sister restaurant, Duke's, which is quite similar to this, but a different theme. Maybe this a good sign of good times ahead. read more

Dockside Willies is associated with the nearby Duke's Riverside overlooking the Susquehanna River in Wormleysburg, PA. The restaurants share the same ownership and (largely) the same menu. Dockside Willies has a nice selection of American bar favorites...burgers, wings, pizza, etc...so there's likely something for any taste. The restaurant was recently renovated after a fire and the interior is gorgeous with amble space and lots of exposed wood. Dockside Willies also has a deck for outdoor dining. The beer list is decent, mostly domestics with a few crafts. I had the Italian calzone for dinner. It was large enough to be shared between two diners and was reasonably tasty. Unusual (to me) was that it also included mushrooms--which I missed when read the description. Why three stars? I sat at the bar on a Tuesday late afternoon/early evening intending to have dinner and drinks. The large bar was not crowded when I arrived and appeared to be adequately staffed with two bartenders. Service was not very attentive (I twice found myself with an empty glass) nor particularly friendly. I'm willing to make plenty of allowances in the COVID era but found myself actually laughing to myself about the bar service. At one point, I had empty water and beer glasses in front of me--with a bartender standing three feet away, back turned, eyes on the TV (and quickly checking their phone). I had the distinct impression they didn't want to be there. Interestingly, as more folks sat at the bar I didn't notice any additional deterioration in the already "leisurely" service. Pick your visits carefully as Dockside Willies seems to be very crowded on Harrisburg Senators game nights or pleasant weather days that attract throngs to the deck. read more

We are new to the area and chose this restaurant since it has views of the river. We dined inside, since it was a bit too warm out for us today but the majority of guests were outside. We started off with the crab pretzel, which was highly recommended by our server. I definitely wouldn't order it again - I love crab but this smelled awfully fishy, like tuna fish. The pretzel itself was dry and it cost almost $15. I got 10 wings for my meal - I wanted garlic and BBQ mixed sauces on all of them but they came split 5 and 5, which was fine. The wing pieces were large for the most part, but some were those awkward tiny stumpy wings that you get sometimes. Almost all of the wings had those bones that break and get shards all over so they were kinda hard to eat. The garlic wasn't very flavorful and the BBQ was different than I'm used to, but they would've tasted good mixed. The celery was crisp and ranch was good. My fiancé got a regular cheeseburger and it was divine. He ordered it medium and it came out medium rare, but he still ate it. He got old bay fries as his side and wow - they did not skimp on the portion size. Next time I'm definitely getting a burger. For $50 for a late lunch for the two of us, with a great view of the river, it was nice. But I wouldn't order the crab pretzel or wings again. read more

We've been coming here for years. We have family get togethers, dinners for just my wife and me, or lunch. The River Rocks were so good that my wife orders them for her entree, so the last time we went she ordered them and I ordered the orange chicken bowl. The food came out, and the River Rocks were stone cold in the center. She sent them back and we waited, and waited, and waited some more. She told me to eat so mine wouldn't get cold. The point of going out to eat was so we could eat together! Her River Rock came out but they just weren't very good, but my dinner was great even though it was cold from the wait. We had both packed up to take home and complained to the manager in the way out. She didn't care. I suspect that since Karns is selling frozen river rocks now that the restaurant is just using the machine made frozen ones now instead of making them fresh. Great atmosphere here. Pretty nice deck along the river they rebuilt and they're expanding to a Mexican style place next door as well. Lots of bars and seating, great spot to go see some boating, music, or before after a Senators game. We were seated very quickly on a Friday night around 6pm, and got our food within 40 mins so that was great. Good selection of drinks/beers, and a huge food menu.
