Well it seems New Years Eve gets here faster every year of course we had reservations for Theo's! Another delicious dinner had by all! My nephew did order his favorite Meatballs for an appetizer and my wife had a cup of the Shrimp and Crab Bisque. Dinners included Seafood Italiano Clams, mussels, shrimp, and scallops sautéed in a spicy tomato sauce served over linguini a side of asparagus 2 orders of Blackened Scallops Topped with Crab Cajun seasoned seared scallops served over goat cheese stuffed agnolotti pasta, all sautéed aglio style with red peppers and sweet chili dipping, topped with sautéed crab 1 with a side of asparagus and 1 with a side of Cole slaw Tortellini Alfredo With our housemade Alfredo with Chicken Haddock Harborside Broiled haddock topped with sautéed jumbo lump crab with a baked potato & Cole slaw Angelica O our server did fabulous and made our evening special. read more

The grossest ribs I have ever had. They were clearly boiled because of the foam on the back of them and they were yellow and tough. A far cry from the slow roasted description in the menu. Also they were not baby back as advertised rather St Louis. Everyone at our table tried them and agreed they were inedible. Not once did they ask if we were satisfied with our meal and took over 30 minutes to get our check. Will not return. read more

We had a late lunch here just before dinner here. Unfortunately, the patio was closed due to rain, but looked lovely. The food was somewhat mixed; while the calamari was a bit mushy and could use improvement, the mozzarella cheese appetizer was excellent. Restaurant was clean, mostly quiet, but a bit dated. Food was fine, not special, but not bad. The service however was not good. We attended with a vendor who picked up the tab. I had left a notepad and went back to retrieve it. The owner pulled me aside when I went back in they dressed me down about the tip amount. The vendor paid, I had no idea what they paid for a tip, It was inappropriate for them to question me and scold me. I was so shocked that I gave $50 out of my pocket. I've gotten Theo's signature shrimp and asparagus egg rolls for probably 20 years. Went for lunch the other day and got them again. They were soggy, not crispy, and the sauce was different somehow. Would've been better to serve them with sweet Thai chili sauce. I got a side salad, which was quite small and the cukes had really weird taste. I only got water as my beverage and the whole bill came to about $23. The egg rolls are cut in half and were $14. You only get four, so that's $3.50 per 2 -3" 1/2 egg roll. So that small salad -mostly iceberg lettuce-had to be about $8. Service was mediocre. Doubt that I'll return. read more

When I would visit my parents from the train from NYC we would come here all the time. The menu used to be huge. There are still many options but it's way less than it was. Sometimes the food is a miss but most of the time you can get something good. The wait staff are always very nice and they have to memorize all the specials! It's nice inside but pretty simple. Theo's is a bustling American bar and grille located near the Capital City Mall in Camp Hill, PA. Theo's has a large bar area, multiple dining rooms, and outdoor seating. The family-friendly menu features basic American favorites including steaks and seafood. The beer list is a decent selection of craft and domestic brews. Why three stars? Well, Theo's had some serious staffing issues when I visited on a recent Friday night. The large bar was staffed by a single bartender who was responsible for both the main bar as well as all drink orders from the many tables in this large restaurant. No second bartender and no bar back to assist with orders or clearing/cleaning the bar itself. That is just crazy on a Friday evening. The bartender, Lacey, worked very hard to keep up and was still extremely friendly. Five stars for Lacey, three stars (or less) to Theo's for putting her in a near impossible position. Despite those unfortunate circumstances, I like what I saw enough to eventually give Theo's another try and will be happy to update my review after a future visit. I recognize that many restaurants are having staff shortages these days and I hope that Theo's will soon fill their staff gaps. read more

Took my daughter for a quick lunch. Both ordered the "chopped" Mediterranean salad. Five of us descended on Theo's for lunch and had a good meal. The pace could maybe have been a little speedier but the food was good and the staff did take good care of us. I chose the buffalo chicken salad, which was a chicken breast that was sliced and tossed in a spicy "buffalo" sauce and served on top of a house greens salad with bacon and a boiled egg. The blue cheese was in a side pot and was very good - several large pieces of blue cheese in there. The salad was full of "stuff" and not all lettuce at all. Really nice space with option for indoor and outdoor seating. We went for lunch although it would be a great bar to watch some sports at, big bar with several high quality TVs. Food and service are wonderful but loses a star for value. I think their prices are a little on the high end, but we are coming out of the pandemic and a lot of restaurants have had to increase prices. Anyways highly recommend the french onion soup and calamari. Crab cakes were also good but on the small side, still rather filling (not pictured is the coleslaw bc we took ours to-go) Theos would be a great place for group dinners or bigger parties. A normal favorite, something changed. We waited and waited at an empty bar just to get a drink. Have been going to this restaurant for over 13 yrs. The food has had a slow decline and tonight's dinner caused me to write a review. My prime rib looked like it had been sitting out on a plate for awhile. That dried look from cooked meat sitting out. I should have returned it, my fault. My friend said his food was mediocre and although it tasted good not worth reordering again. It will be awhile before I return. The service was great and our waiter and waitress were wonderful. I feel the word must be getting out because for the hour we reserved, it definitely was not crowded for a Saturday night. Came here with a part of about 35 last weekend and had a decent experience. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was great. One of the part members thought there medium rare steak was a little overdone, he asked the waitress about it and she disagreed with him, which is unacceptable especially with a party that size. I organize a dinner at Theo's annually for members of our car club during Corvette at Carlisle. This time we were 30 people and Teddy did a great job arranging the seating. Of course, the food and service were excellent as usual. It is nice to know that in a party of 30 nobody had anything but rave reviews for the evening. I don't have enough positive things to say about Theo's. They came through for us during a very difficult time, and hosted a private party event for us following my father's funeral, with excellent food, exceptional service, and on very short notice. None of my father's immediate family (including myself) are local to the area and were not familiar with Theo's. But when I contact them to inquire as to availability and pricing, they quoted a simple, elegant menu that would satisfy the entire group (young and more senior folks alike). They gave us a customized menu (we were not limited to only their published dinner and lunch selections) and accommodated our request for buffet style, instead of a more restrictive sit down event. They even had a small table of petite desserts, ordered fresh from the nearby Pennsylvania Bakery. Theo did not give me a contract to sign, or even require a deposit. He just asked what food we wanted, how we wanted it, and for how many people. I wasn't even sure if he would take our last minute request seriously, but when I visited the restaurant the night before, they had all of the information down and were able to show me the space (even multiple options) for our private party. It was perfect. Theo said he's been 'doing this years' and it shows. Our event was seamless and of the highest quality. The waitstaff even helped us cut a cake (it happened to incidentally be someone's birthday) and gave us plenty of to-go boxes so everyone could bring home leftovers. It was just what we needed, and a very welcome end to what was a very difficult week. THANK YOU THEOS AND TEAM!! We couldn't be more grateful. read more

My wife and I absolutely love this place! We make this a "date night" destination at least twice a month. We've never had a meal we didn't like and the wait staff and bartenders are so friendly and personable. The price for the quality of food is just right. They have an amazing patio that is open all year round (external heaters). Unfortunately, where the outside bar is located, they allow smoking, which makes it unpleasant during wintertime. Went with some friends to Theo's thinking we will sit on the patio for dinner. But the storm took that away from us. They had closed the patio in anticipation of the storm warning. Inside was ok. There were plenty of tvs (all muted), but music from the restaurant system was on. Service was quite slow, but the server took good care. She explained in detail the specials of the night, the various side options etc. In many places they rush through this part and half the time I don't catch the options. She didn't. After we placed the order, I would have preferred for them to speed things up, but sadly that didn't happen. The Crab Fest was on. I ordered Lobster Tail with Crab. That comes with 2 sides. I chose broccoli and sweet potato fries. Fries were excellent. They had boiled the broccoli instead of grilling it - it tasted really bad. Lobster tail and crab were good. We also ordered Peach Sangria (not good) and cherry cheesecake (good). I was disappointed about the patio part, but the food was ok. read more

For lunch today, we decided to splurge, since it was Crab Fest, and get the soft shell crabs. Our server explained the different preparations and sides, and we opted for them to be grilled with a side of Asparagus and Asian Slaw. We both ordered the same thing. Our plates of food looked great, so we couldn't wait to scoop up a bite of the Asian slaw. After one taste, we both had a hard time using the description of Asian. It was a cross between Bay seasoning and ketchup. We were both sorry that we hadn't ordered the creamy slaw instead. The asparagus was done to perfection and we gobbled that down. Soft shells weren't exactly my idea of grilled, but were still yummy and there was nothing left of them when we were done. All in all, service was excellent and food was good. I can't believe I've never gone here before! We had an incredible meal and wonderful service. They have a decent selection of draft and bottled beers and a good cocktail & wine menu. We ordered the provolone sticks, which were yummy. My husband ordered the stuffed salmon entree. The salmon was stuffed with spinach, artichoke, pine nuts, and mozzarella. It was served on top of pasta with a nice tomato basil sauce. I ordered the blackened scallops dinner. This was the best scallop dish I've ever had (and I order scallops a lot)! The scallops were lightly coated with Cajun seasoning and were beautifully cooked. They were served with goat cheese ravioli and topped with crab and a sweet & tangy sauce that I can't even describe. Huge bursts of flavor in every bite! I'll definitely be back to try more items and cocktails! read more

Very sad let down. I've heard some things about Theo's so I go with a friend. Walking in it has a very nice, clean ambiance, however, the (most) food, drinks, and service, were all let downs. Appetizer was the best part of the whole experience, however neither entree was exciting, or very good. The server wasn't the nicest and took away drink menus after ordering first drinks, even while we were still looking at them. After eating, we wanted to order another drink but she randomly brought out the check without asking any questions prior, so I guess not, not that we knew what else they had anyways considering the menu was taken from the start. read more

I was very happy with our recent experience at Theo's. I called and made a reservation for 15 people and they were happy to accommodate and also ready for us when we arrived. We had two servers and they were both very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu which was great because the menu was huge. They were offering a crab fest menu which had some yummy crab options on them for 19.99 which I thought was a good deal although the portions were not that large. That's okay it's probably better for my figure and I did get full enough. I got a French onion soup to start and it wasn't salty and was very good. We also started with warm rolls and butter. For my entree I tried the lobster tail with crab meat and it was very tasty and not at all greasy. They had so many desserts but we were full and decided to not try anything but I'd love to try dessert there sometime. Came here during crab fest with hubby and will never return. We sat at the bar and received the crab fest menu. Crab cakes are $19.95 with two sides. I ask for a double Caesar salad as my side. *****I was never told that salads were not available as a side***** Dinner was pretty good until the bill came. I was charged $23.95 for the $19.95 crab cakes. I was charged $7 for the Caesar salad. I was told the crab cakes were $23.95 because they needed to up-charge me for the salad. I asked about the $7 charge, and was told that was also for the salad. For those of you counting, that's $11 for a larger Caesar salad, as well as a shady practice. After I protested, they reduced the price of my $19.95 crab cakes to $21.95. So I wound up being charged $9 for a salad instead of two sides. I am still so angry at being completely ripped off. I promise you, we will never return. One star only because I have to. read more
