Unexpected veggie win! Who could have guessed that this little suburban diner would have veggie dogs?! (Note: It's not a standard menu item, so call ahead to ensure availability) It was probably the best dog I've had, vegetarian or not. Hot dogs normally have this unique flavor that I can't stand, and I always felt the need to drown them in ketchup to offset whatever flavor it is with acidic sweetness. Yes I realize this is heresy. Well, it's not necessary here -- the veg dog had a meatier flavor that paired perfectly with the relish and other toppings. The also have a veggie burger for $3! The patty also reminded me of chicken; it was like none I've ever had. Quite tasty, though I felt the patty could be heartier to better balance the toppings and bun. We didn't love the fries -- they were soggy with too much oil. I think they just need to turn up the heat on their fryer, or use cleaner oil or something. The menu I found online said they had fried PBJs, which sounded scary but also potentially very delicious, but sadly they don't sell those anymore. Wouldn't pay the $4 and a quarter for fried mushrooms again though. 8 very small button mushrooms with a side of ranch. The ranch wouldn't pour. It was basically mayo. No bueno. Those are easy things to get right. Every restaurant should have a decent ranch. In addition, those fried frozen foods are cheap man. If your planing on making multiple trips and having a lot of money for gas. Then this is the place for you . I came here December 3rd for a shake and they said they couldn't make them with out having a reason why . So I order my food with out a shake. Wanting a milkshake still I decide to come back December 8th and a old lady in the front register said they couldn't make shakes for the next 30min so I left and call 1hr later to double check and the same lady answer the phone and I ask about milkshakes and she said " yeah that was me we don't have them". Clearly the workers here don't want to do their job and not make milkshakes. I will like the Store Manger to fix this problem. read more

In town to see family. Ordered a few Chicago classics for delivery to the house. We did not all eat at the same time so the Gyros sat in the bag. It was later discovered that Gyro sauce was missing, even though we paid for extra sauce. The family enjoyed the burger and dog. Upon calling the restaurant, owner, Ryan, starts dropping F bombs as to why it took two F#@g, hours to call, even though the entire above story was explained. He was asked if he had even listened, to which Ryan replied, "Watch your F#@king mouth, I am the owner here!" Why was he swearing and getting hot when no one swore or even raised their voice? He just did not pay attention and perhaps thought that asking if he was paying attention was cocky. What a disappointment it will be to tell the entire neighborhood about this treatment. This place deserves 10 stars! You cannot beat the service as it is honestly the best service you could get. The manager of the restaurant, Ryan, is super upbeat, friendly, kind and he is really outgoing and cares about what his customers are ordering and even how their day is going. The food always comes out quick and hot and I have never had anything that I didn't like. Officially one of my favorite places to eat at. They have the best fries I have ever tasted! They are fresh cut, and not soggy and gross like most places. Food is good, not great. Ordered a couple of hot dogs and fries. Dogs were very good. Fries were a little cold and very soggy. Ordered a side of cheese curds and it was a waste of money based on the portion size. Customer service is good. Place could use a good cleaning. Maybe I was there on a off day. Gave this place another chance 4 years later, I thought it was time to try again. I must say, what a complete 360. Everything in the order was correct, and hot. Good stuff, and nice people. I ordered online through the Grubhub link for pickup tonight, and it worked out pretty well. It wasn't more than a few minutes wait once I got there. I got the meatball sub, and I was pretty happy to get the option of both sweet and hot peppers on my sandwich- the meatballs and sauce were phenomenal, and good bread, too. Well, we're still holed up at home in the frozen tundra. Again. And a few days back I had a hankering for chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks. What can I say, the cold makes me crave terrible, toasty foods. I was super grateful that Doctor Dog's popped up in GrubHub! Order we did and within 30 minutes a very sweet woman delivered our goods, hot and ready for consumption. The chicken fingers weren't remarkable, but they filled they void. They tasted super plain and straight out of the freezer. The mozzarella sticks, while likely fried from frozen, were exactly what I was looking for. Nothing complicated, but chunky sticks of fried cheese paired with a zesty marinara. Next time I'm in the neighborhood, I definitely want to sample their Italian beef or a hotdog. read more

Boy it's hard to rate a hot dog place 5 stars but there are not a lot of Chicago Style Places in Schaumburg/Roselle area... But here's why they get 5 stars. There fries are greasy, soft, mashed right in to the hot dog and oh so delicious. Try the loaded fries, their ranch sauce is the best that I have seen. And the prices are amazing. You can get meals for five for the price of a 2 person meal elsewhere. And they deliver... Remember that it is a hot dog place, and their hot dogs equal the better hot dogs in the city (not surpass, but equal). Value + fries = I'm sold. Do not--let me repeat--do not order hot dogs for delivery. No one has hot dogs delivered. What's wrong with you! It's OK for pot roast sandwiches and chocolate cake, but the dogs you get at Doctor Dog are meant to be eaten where you bought them--inside or sitting in the parking lot or driving around in your car. This is a real hot dog joint--an order counter, a couple of tables, a soda machine (with Dr. Pepper!). You order a hot dog, you're gettin' fries. Not frozen fries, real curly cut fries that started out as whole potatoes that morning. Fries that are slapped next to your dog and the whole shebang wrapped in white sandwich paper and stuffed into a paper bag. This is the way God intended a hot dog to be served. How much do I like this place? When I was asked where I wanted to go for dinner on Mother's Day, I said Doctor Dogs. When I was in line, there was another Mother in front of me who had made the same dinner request. When I got outside there was another Mother on the phone telling her kids she was at Doctor Dogs, where were they? I know there's other good stuff on the menu. I always had a good time each time I would go in this fast food. Food in here is really quick and delicious too! It is just a simple and the usual fast food but I always really enjoyed it and I would sometimes even ask for more. This is a small place but it is clean and the vibe and atmosphere inside feels nice. The staff in here is also warm and friendly and they are always happy to see each customer that is going inside. The food is fresh including its ingredients. They have a lot of selection on their menu. I think I do not have a favorite until now because I love every food of them and I would just always choose randomly each time I would go in here. From those times that I went here, the food is served to me hot and freshly cooked that makes the food better and definitely taste better.
