TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I was delighted when ASP started doing my pool. Unfortunately after about four weeks the pool technician I had that was doing a great job was no longer doing my route. Someone new came out along with another person. It appeared the one person was a trainee. The CYA level in my pool had consistently been at 100 ppm. After two weeks of the new techs coming out, per their report they added 3lbs of shock. This caused my CYA level to jump to 300! Also, the following day after the shock was added it did not all disolve. There were two areas on pool floor that were approximately 24" in diameter with shock. This can stain the pebble tec per the owner of ASP. I took and brushed it to make the shock dissolve. It should be 50-80 ppm, but with our extreme temperatures 100 ppm is acceptable from what other pool owners have told me. With the CYA at 300 I asked Clint, the owner, what should be done? He said to keep an eye on it until July and if it was still high they could drain and refill pool. It is too hot in July to drain a Pebble Tec pool in fear of cracks so I wanted it drained immediately. I assumed that would be on them seeing they created the problem. He said no, it would cost me $475 for drain, refill and add chemicals! I was appalled to hear this. I rented a pump and drained it myself. I can see mistakes being made, but, to have a professional pool service not own up to their mistakes and putting the problem on the person using their service is unconscionable. Did not show when they said they would for a repair- waited all day. After I called the next morning and spoke to Ed and he acted like it was a tech who just didn't show up- no responsibility or apology on their part. That night I woke up at 10:30 PM to someone on the side of my house and in the backyard- saw him on the Ring camera. Scared the heck out of me! I called the next morning and he said he couldn't fix it- said they would contact Pentair. When I asked him if there was someone who could fix it in their office the response was " You have mentioned twice about going to another company maybe you should." Their weekly service call is no more than five minutes including taking a picture of the pool, doing their report, and emailing to me. How much time is spent on the pool??? My expectations of a pool company are not high. We keep our pool very clean ourselves - however, when we need support I would like a company that is responsive and does what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it. ASP came to my rescue in a timely fashion! My last swimming pool company only came by and dropped in a chlorine tablet then would leave. They never shocked my pool when I mentioned that it was starting to look cloudy. Next thing I knew, my pool looked green. I called ASP and they put the appropriate chemicals in and cleaned my filer. They quickly replied to set up a time for estimate when I requested through Yelp. The owner showed up late and did not call and seemed very uninterested while he was here. He said he would send me an estimate within 2 days. This was on Monday. By Thursday, I still had not received anything so I messaged asking about it. It is now Friday and nothing. I guess they are busy enough to cherry pick the work they want to do and don't mind wasting your time. If they are not interested in doing the job, they should say it up front. read more

I had a really bad experience with ASP. It is difficult to get in touch with anyone, calls are not returned, and problems are not addressed. I had a reliable guy who was servicing our pool but he sold his business to ASP. I have gone back to hiring someone who has a smaller company who values his customers and does what he says he'll do. Just the facts. I've had ASP Mesa Clint Rowley for weekly pool service for almost 2 1/2 years. May 10 I called to report algae in pool. May 11 a technician went to the pool and sent a report. He added chemicals to treat algae and reported pool should be drained and acid washed. May 12 regular weekly service technician went to pool and sent report with no special comments. Two hours later I went to pool and documented findings in attached pictures. Algae treatment chemicals were laying in the bottom of the pool. Pop up heads not working because screen was so clogged pump could not draw water. I had to scrape the debris off the pop up head screen. I sent pictures to Clint asking for an explanation. He replied with no explanation but added "After some deep thought on this I feel that we are not the best fit for you and your pool. " read more

Service seriously declined after the first few months of service. Skimming basket was broken along with the pool brush and we were not notified. They overcharge for any repairs needed and quote extremely higher than other competitors for upgrades. Service has seriously declined. As other reviewers have stated, the technician is rarely there for more than 5 minutes. He adds chemicals and will skim for a few minutes after a monsoon, but I don't recall him EVER vacuuming the pool. Last week I sent the owner pictures of our pool filled with leaves only 33 minutes after the technician left. No wind at all, so all the leaves were there when he came and left. The owner (Clint) confirmed in his email that the pool shouldn't look like that, but when I asked him to send someone to finish the job he said he "would try"! Based on the first interaction we had with this company it would have been 5 stars, Clint came by and was very nice and seemed knowledgeable. The actual cleaning, however was not very good. We were told the pool would be vacuumed as needed and in the 2 1/2 months we used them it was vacuumed once, even though it could have been done more often than that. The technician would be in the backyard for 5 minutes at most then leave, it's hard to justify $100 a month for less than 20 mins of work each month. We also were told that we needed a new filter since ours was pretty old. We had another company come out for a second opinion and they told us the unit we have isn't too old and the sand looked good, it just needed new gaskets...we took their advise and are no longer having the issue we were previously. read more
