We are very happy with our new hot tub that we purchased from Jeremy and Henry at Southwest Spas…read more They were nice enough to hold on to our tub at their facility until we were able to get HOA approval, 220v electrical hook-up and breaker, and a small travertine patio extension built for the hot tub. When we first came into the store, Henry was so thorough in his explanation of the different features of the spa we were interested in purchasing. The electrician (Nick) and the landscape person who installed our patio extension(Jose) who were recommended to us by Henry and Jeremy were also terrific. Once we had the spa delivered, I had some questions about some of the features of the tub, chemicals, as well as a small issue with one of the diverters that was leaking. I drove over to Southwest Spa to speak to someone in person, and Jeremy was kind enough to take the time to answer my questions, and also instructed me how to fix the diverter leak when I got home, and it worked perfectly after that. Easy-peasy! Having our own spa at our home has been on my husband and my bucket list for YEARS. We are so happy we were finally able to make it happen with the assistance of Southwest Spas!

I called Pelican for a second opinion and rather than just push new hardware, they did their due diligence to pinpoint the problem.They figured out that not enough power was being supplied to the pool panel and it ended being a bad breaker that was supplying too little voltage for the pump to operate. I wanted a full remodel, Deck, Pebble Tec, and Tile. Jake explained the process and gave me a competitive quote. This was on Wednesday, he started the project on Friday, two days later. The job was completed in less than nine days. He kept every promise and did a fantastic job. His crews were professional, courteous, very knowledgeable and cleaned up after each day of work. I can't say how impressed I was by his team. This is the way you always dream of a project to go, but there are always problems and delays. I did have some doubts about going through build your own pool versus a local pool builder, however after some of my ridiculous quotes from local pool builders (like 30-40k higher than we built it for) and talking to several homeowners that also used build your own pool I decided to go for it. Now I have subbed out for homes we have remodeled and a few flips so I might have been more comfortable through the process than others might, but I think if you need more help they'd be there for you. I worked a lot with Ryan for the plans at the beginning and then with John Green who we also ordered the equipment through. John was extremely helpful and did not get annoyed with my calls or emails on my many questions. From breaking ground to completion it took about 5 months. The pool builders which we talked to were about 10-12 months out and basically said we wouldn't have the pool until December or January when we were getting bids. We finished just in time for the summer and have already used it a lot. I highly recommend BYOP and am extremely satisfied with my pool!

Please remember that you are the GC. Ive seen reviews like the one before where they pool light was too short. This is stuff you are responsible for noticing, as a GC you should know how long your light run is and how long of a light cord you need. I worked with John and he was great, we even had issues with a drain and he had a rep come out immediately and resolve the issue. I worked with Roy during the design stage and I made several changes over and over to the design and it never took Roy more than 24 hours to make changes or respond to questions. Remember this is your project and you are responsible for running the show, reviewing drawings, equipment lists, etc.

Just-In Time Moving truly helped me out of an emergency situation…read more I had originally hired another moving company, Not Your Husband Moving, and ended up in a terrible situation where I was billed for more than double the estimated hours for the move into storage and the move was not completed as originally estimated. I needed to get my household goods out of their storage quickly to stop the situation from getting worse. Just-In Time Moving was gracious enough to fit me into their schedule last minute. Their office was communicative, their estimate was thorough and clear, and the final bill matched what they estimated. The crew showed up on time, communicated throughout the day, and was professional, careful, and kind. This was not a simple move. They had to unload my furniture and belongings from storage crates, unwrap items that had been wrapped by the prior mover, take care with everything, rewrap my furniture, load it, transport it, and unload it into my new storage unit. They completed the entire job in 7.5 hours. By comparison, the prior mover had tried to bill me 16.5 hours for the move into storage alone. Just-In Time Moving did a fantastic job, and I am extremely grateful they were willing to help me on short notice. After the experience I had before them, their professionalism, clear communication, and honest billing meant everything. My advice to anyone hiring movers: read all reviews carefully, do not take online ratings at face value, check whether the company is listed with moversaz.org, review BBB ratings, and read how the company responds to 1-star and 2-star reviews. His entire crew from demo to finish were so helpful and answered all my questions. We keep pinching ourselves every time we walk in our bathroom to make sure it isn't a dream! We couldn't be happier! From the first meeting, he was on time, focused, and genuinely cared about finding the best solution for us. What really impressed us was that he never acted like a salesperson -- no pressure, no upselling, just honest advice and real expertise. Another thing that stood out is that Hektor was hands-on throughout the entire project. He did the work himself with the help of his team, but he was clearly the one leading and making sure every detail was done right. He even came back to go over details in person and worked with us so we could pay for materials with our credit card, which made things so much easier to manage. Even when Phoenix had an unusual week of rain, he stayed in touch to make sure our materials were safe. Once the weather cleared, he showed up right on time, suggested raising the patio height (which turned out to be the best decision ever), and coordinated the stucco work so everything looked seamless. The patio turned out beautiful, and he followed up afterward to make sure we were completely happy. If every contractor worked like Hektor -- professional, reliable, hands-on, and truly caring -- home projects would be stress-free. We couldn't recommend him more!

My pool needed major repairs, and these guys did it all! Called ASP. and within a couple of days, had a visit from Clint Rowley, the owner. Explained that my 12 yr old salt pool was getting away from me. Purchased a new salt system online, but needed help with a leaky pump, air in the system, and black mold slowly overtaking the pool. Clint advised best way to proceed. We replaced my sand filter, re-sealed the leaky pump, acid washed the pool, and he did the inline plumbing for my salt cell. All I had to do was the electrical hookup. Most of the physical work was done bySilas Partain. This guy is above and beyond. One look, and you can tell he's been doing this awhile. He worked quickly and efficently. When he left, every thing was cleaned up. Once the original work was done, there still seemed to be a little air generating in the system. Silas took apart all of the Jandy valves and lubricated each. one had even broken internally. He promptly replaced all the parts from a "spare" he had. That pretty much solved the leak problem. I don't do this often, so I don't know if these guys are the cheapest in town, but I do know you will get fast, efficient, quality work when you call them. Highly recommend!!!! read more

I can honestly say the only time I had to call is to let Clint know how much he blessed me. He authorized a part to be installed, that I would not have had the funds for. I had to pay somebody to come out and fix something that wasn't broken just to be told it wouldn't operate properly with the remedy for the issue these imbeciles prescribed.

Trying to reach anyone is nearly impossible; calling them turns into a constant game of phone tag, and responses are either delayed or nonexistent. Scheduling is another major issue. They show up at completely random times with zero notice -- no heads-up, no consistent service day, nothing. That alone makes it incredibly difficult to plan around, especially if you have pets or a busy schedule. To make matters worse, they've complained about animals on the property, yet they don't provide any notification before arriving. That lack of communication makes their complaints feel completely unreasonable. The biggest problem, though, is that they ended up damaging my pool and have refused to take accountability or work toward any kind of resolution. That's where this goes from frustrating to unacceptable. Overall, the lack of professionalism, poor communication, inconsistent scheduling, and refusal to resolve issues make this a company I would not recommend. If you care about your pool and want reliable service, I would look elsewhere.

We have had a dirt pile in the corner of our pool for over 3 weeks now that has not been cleaned (I have photos with time/date stamps). Our pool level has been way too high for 6 weeks causing the pool to leak through the top and causing damage to our travertine and surrounding trees and plants. Checking the pool level and auto leveler is NOT a part of their service we have come to find out. Which in the opinions of 3 other companies, is routine maintenance. This is a shame as we loved working with Kenny when we first moved here a few years back. Once Kenny left, our services from this company have been on a down hill spiral. The pool equipment has had a leak for quite some time now which could have been easily identified by any pool technician that performs routine maintenance. This company is not recommended.

Update 2026: After 3 years I've terminated service with Tartan Pools. This last half year has been…read morenothing but problems for us. Vacuum busted, no big deal I get it things break but it took the tech 3 weeks to notice the vacuum wasn't working. It wasn't until I noticed a bunch of debris on the pool floor and then I had to notify THEM to come fix it. They recommended one other than the Pool Vergneugen and that thing just never worked, then replaced with a Vergneugen and it worked right away. Now just recently they cleaned the filter and recommended to replace it. Not only did they charge for the cleaning, but the charge to replace the four filters was over $630. The filters themselves are $200-300 depending on if you want to get them online or through Shasta Pools. Would've gave em the $100 most people want to install new filters, but I'm sure as hell not paying $750+ between a cleaning of filters that should've been replaced and then paying on top of that to get them replaced. Our pool is a cartridge system, so literally all they have to do is empty the skimmer baskets, balance chemicals, and ensure the vacuum is working properly. I don't have the extra maintenance of a sand filter and the system is hooked up to automation. We've been having an issue with the system running with air in it for about a month now. Paid for a flapper repair and they said everything was all fixed. Spoiler alert: it was not. They just don't care to validate that the system is working properly after a repair is done as long as they get paid. Today the main pump is running bone dry so I had to shut it down. I love Dominic as a person. I still to this day would trust him if HE did the repairs, but he doesn't do it anymore......and his office staff are clearly lacking on holding techs to satisfactory repairs. Very sad I liked this company.
