My camping buddies warn me NOT TO DEAL WITH DODD. They bought a consignment unit in January and have had a very bad time with Dodd. They promised a 25 Point examination of the unit before they picked it up and paid for it. This was not done. Not even winterized, and Black and Gray holding tanks not emptied. Made their first time out a very bad experience. When they went to get help from Dodd, they refused to even acknowledge their mistakes, and sent them back to their camping spot after freeing a valve with full holding tanks, despite again promising to empty. WARNING....DON'T EXPECT THIS BUSINESS TO DO WHAT IT CLAIMS TO DO FOR ITS CUSTOMERS. read more

Our camper had to get a new roof because of a limp broke off and made a puncture. We were scheduled to go in on Monday the 21st at 9:30 and we went straight back to the service dept. They told us hopefully we can get t back by the end of the month. As promised we received a call from Suzanne on Monday the 28th telling us that our camper was good as new and that we could come and pick it up. When my husband went up to pick it up he was shown the work that was done and the new roof was even a thicker material than what was put on at the factory which was a very pleasant surprise. My husband had even told Suzanne that he didn't think the back air conditioner was working properly so she had Tom check it out and he told us it was doing perfect. We will always bring our camper to Dodd and the service dept because they truly care and make sure that you are happy. read more

We were actually just driving by on our way home to PA. We had been looking at Grand Design for a while. Little did we know how much (driving by) was going to change our life. They let us look at the RVs on our own, which was perfect because we could look and discuss amongst each other as we were in and out of each one. Soon, we purchased the Grand Design, Reflection. Model #303RLS. We purchased from Dodd because they were the lowest price we could find. We were even told that NOONE would go that low and if they did, to jump on it. So, we did! The buying experience with Drew Doss was excellent. He worked with us to give us the deal we asked for. He text us often as someone else was looking at it. He kept us updated on every step. He even went above and beyond to make arrangements for us to get our truck hideaway ball before picking up the fifth wheel. He made the appt with a company at Tac RV in NC. Is that service or what? That was one day and then he scheduled us to pu the fifth wheel the next day. We went to pu the fifth wheel and met Jade Courtney. He showed us every single thing we needed to know. Not one gadget, switch or lever was left without a full explanation as to why it was there, what it did, and when we needed to use it! Jade was extremely knowledgeable and said any questions, to call him. He said he even took calls on a Sunday before, helping a customer out that was in a jam. Before we knew it, we felt we knew Jade for a very long time! Then we went to see Jennifer Dodd that took us thru all the payment information, warranties etc! She explained that Dodd is a family owned business that was her dads. He is in his 90's and now all the kids have their own job at their fathers company. She was so down to earth and kind! Walked us thru all the warranty information and options for us to add on if we wanted. Took many pics of us in front of our RV! No pressure whatsoever!!! Then it was onto Jenn Wise that gave us more information if we need something when we are out and about. She was just too kind as well. Her and Wilson Box had us cracking up!! Jenn loved our dogs sooo much. We have a Maltese puppy and a miniature schnauzer. Everyone at Dodd was so welcoming, informing and just made us feel like we were one of the members of their family as well! Shout out to Crystal in the Service Department - she did an awesome job taking care of my Imagine Camper for it's annual maintenance inspection and getting items fixed. She set expectation up front on the timeline due to heavy service demand and obtaining parts. She sent me texts to keep me updated on the status of the work. We did have an issue where the techs did not clean up the rig on the inside when they were done and both myself and Crystal did not do an inside inspection since the work was on the outside (tech had to go inside to check the toilet and got mud everywhere). Also the battery key was left in so my battery completely drained. So when I got back home had to plug up to electricity to get the Jack to work and when I did all the lights and air conditioner were left on. Called Crystal and she was very apologetic and agreed to compensate - that is the definition of quality service! Thank You Crystal. read more

We had been looking for travel trailers for several months and had decided on a floor plan, weight limit, and desired amenities. We found the trailer that met our needs at Dodd RV and I dropped in while in the area on business. We live about 3 hours away in the DC area so this was a shot in the dark. I found the model we had decided upon and was able to give it a once over before the salesman, Shane Slavnik, came by and introduced himself. I asked a few questions, asked for any other units that were similar, and told him my expectations. Never at any point did he apply the snake oil salesman pressure. He just provided his contact information and asked us to keep him in mind. The price was right, the knowledge of the unit by the salesman was excellent, and I never once felt pressure. When my wife had concerns about the look of the cushions, he immediately set about correcting that. When we told them that we wanted to finance on our own and register it in my state of record (I'm military), they had no issues. Throughout the pre-delivery inspection and acceptance, we were treated with respect and felt as though no other customer mattered. Shane, our salesman was knowledgeable and accommodating. Mary at the main desk was helpful and accommodating, Arnold in finance and closing did everything in the world he could to make the process as painless as possible. Tom in service walked me patiently through the trailer and explained everything and answered every question I had. Finally, Rod in parts gave me a great run-down on things I actually needed, and not just stuff that they wanted to sell me. The staff is amazing and could not have been more customer service oriented. For new RV buyers: Do your research. These folks were knowledgeable and fair, but you should always be prepared. That said, you could not do better with a with a first-time trailer/RV buy than going here. If you are realistic and knowledgeable, you will be amazed at the service you receive. Overall the only they could have done extra was to give me the trailer for free. Which I'm still open to guys! read more

Long story but please read to the end. I purchased a used 2016 Grand Design camper from a private seller and took it home. 4 days later I turned on the propane bottle on the port side of the camper and the line was leaking due to dry rot. I shut that bottle off and opened the starboard side and it was good. I walked into the camper and hit the on button to the refrigerator and immediately there was an explosion that came inside and outside the camper. After I got the fire out, I called the previous owner and told her what had happened. She indicated that neither her nor her late husband, had used the camper since its last warranty inspection 4 months prior. The previous owner also told me that she had taken the camper in every year for inspection to maintain the warranty. First off, if a line is affected by dry rot, shouldn't that have been noted and replaced at the time of the inspection. I asked her if I could call Dodd RV on her behalf, seeing the camper was not in my name yet and she had a lifetime warranty, and she agreed. I took the camper in to Dodd RV and the Service person told me I would have to pay for the repairs or file an insurance claim. I requested to speak to the manager. Suzanne, the service manager, called me and refused to take any responsibility for the fire and asked me if I checked for mud daubers which have been known to cause fires. I had not looked for mud daubers, but I explained to her that there was a bulging gas line that was leaking gas, only visible after I put the fire out with a fire extinguisher. Her response was Dodd RV could not take responsibility for anything that may have happened between their inspection and the incident. She also hammered on me until I agreed I bought the camper from the previous owner but still it was not in my name (my bad, I should have been more forth coming). She did agree to pay my deductible of $250 though. After a heated conversation we hung up and I went home and talked it over with my wife and we agreed to give them the benefit of doubt and have them make the repairs. After a month or so, a friend of mine told me that Grand Design had a recall on their refrigerators, so I decided to call them and ask about it. First let me say, Grand Design has an awesome customer service! They listened to my story and asked me to send them pictures which I did. They also told me that the recall on the refrigerator was completed by Dodd RV, which this was never disclosed to me by Dodd RV. 2 days later, I called to ask about what they thought and received a call back an hour later saying they called Dodd RV and had the RV impounded until an inspector could get there to look at it. 4 days later the Grand Design Inspector flew in and inspected my camper. He explained to Dodd RV and to me that he is writing his report that, without a shadow of a doubt, the damage to the gas line occurred when Dodd RV completed the recall on the refrigerator in May (signed off in June). Both the service manager and General Manager completely disagreed with him and held strong stating they were not responsible for what happened to the camper after it left them. They also hung their hat on the fact that the gas system was pressure checked 2 days after the work was completed and it did not leak. The Grand Design inspector recommended that I talk to Dodd RV again and see what we could work out. I went to Dodd RV and discussed this with Suzanne, she was adamant that the camper was not damaged by her service people, and they have never had an incinerate event in their 56 years of business. She also stated that she owed me nothing because I was not the owner of the camper when they completed the maintenance. I basically agreed to disagree and asked if they would at least cover the $1120.78 that the insurance company would not cover. Suzanne called me back and stated after talking to the General Manager, they would cover an additional 310.78 on top of the original $250 they agreed to pay, leaving me a balance of $560.78. In the end I agreed to this and have the work completed by them seeing it would have likely taken me months more to take it somewhere else. I will also say if they would have at least taken some type of responsibility and at least agreed to cover my out-of-pocket expenses, I probably would have not made this post. Mistakes happen and I believe if you own up to them, forgiveness is much easier. In addition, after picking up the camper my wife read the bill and was furious how they added on the actual invoice, berated me stating I told them I was the previous owner when I had not. I won't be going back there and am sure I won't be welcome after posting this but feel this needed to be posted. I am not just a negative poster; and I will give kudos to Crystal at DODD RV, the service advisor, she was always nice and professional. read more

We saw an RV listed on the company website. It seemed pretty nice in the pictures so we called to find out more. We asked very specific questions as to the condition of the motor home because we have found that there are certain issues we don't want to find when we get there. Things like de-lamination, bad smells, evidence of water damage, nonworking appliances etc... The guy who answered the phone assured us that NOTHING was wrong.. just an old skylight leak in the bathroom that was minor. So, you know, don't they understand that we are actually going to come look at it in person? Do they think that the problems are going to magically go away? I don't know, but this camper had been smoked in, heavy water damage, delamination.. it was filthy and in horrible shape. We drove a long way to look at a LIE. I would not recommend going to get anything from this dealership. read more

Receptionist is friendly, but for our 2016 Forest River Wolfpup -- leaking sink plumbing we needed an appt. even though we are on the road. Shorewood RV in Minnesota would be appalled that my husband couldn't even ask maintenance some simple questions. read more

I bought a used travel trailer from Dodd RV this past summer. My salesman, Scott Hudgins, was great. He had all my paperwork in order and he even repaired the stairs on it HIMSELF. The service department did a lot of things that I did not expect - like replacing the battery, caulking the roof and some rewiring. We just got our RV back from Dodd RV, and it was such an unpleasant experience, I will never be going back. The problems were numerous, including: * Incredibly poor customer service: their story seemed to change every time that we spoke with them - it caused us to completely lose trust in them * Repairs: they did not repair the problems that we brought it in for (but still charged us almost a thousand dollars) * Time: It took them nearly a month to return the RV to us We made an appointment five weeks before we took the RV in to ensure that they would be able to do the repairs in a timely manner. When we arrived, and asked them to repair a surging generator and a refrigerator that wasn't working on propane, they told us that they would have an estimate to us by the end of the next day, and could have the work completed by the end of the week. It was 12 days before we could get an estimate out of them, and 3.5 weeks until we could finally get the RV back to drive it off of the lot. Every time that we called them to check on the status, the story seemed to change. Everything - from the specific problem, to the status of the parts that they had ordered - seemed to change depending on the person with whom we were speaking or the day that we called. It was incredibly frustrating, made even more so by the haughty demeanor of the service manager. When they returned the RV to us, the generator was still surging under a load, and the refrigerator still did not work with propane. Worse, buttons that worked on the refrigerator before we dropped it off were stuck and did not work when we picked it up. In all, they returned the RV to us in worse condition than the condition it had been in when we dropped it off. Yet they still had the nerve to charge us almost $1,000 for the experience. We will never do business with them again. At the best, they are a business that are incapable of performing quality, timely work, coupled with a horrible customer service ethic. But after a month of dealing with their excuses and poor attitude, I believe it to be much worse than that. read more

My two stars goes to courtesy of the staff who answer the phones, they were very polite! I need warranty work on a 5 week old travel trailer. Answer as I planned on arriving in the area Saturday the 4th and was able to drop it off until Thursday the 9th of March. More than 11 days. Well we service our customers who we sell to 1st. We do not accept vehicles on Saturdays or Mondays. So I have no Monoxide detector (ok I bought a spare when the fire department told me with there sniffing device no issues) My water heater cannot be used without blowing water onto the inside floor of the unit and the electrical side does not work, The bearings failed in the 1st 1000 miles and were replaced but Forest River wants them rechecked, My ceiling heater does not work (propane is fine) so I can live without it but a 2017 unit 5 weeks old should be checked. I would not buy from these folks ever with a policy like that. Imagine if you were near a quality dealer where I bought mine in North Dakota and a dealer said yea find someone else. I have no idea when I might be in the area of my dealer as I bought this to travel. UNACCEPTABLE and I hope your customers get better damn service when their unit breaks down more than 1000 miles from home dealer. Bad business because if you set the precedent then all your customers will get no service when traveling. Great Job I a 100% Disabled Combat Vet commend you! read more

I had an old 1979 pop-up that was in need of some TLC. All the cables were in poor shape and two of the lifting tracks were broken. Dodd RV's service team was amazing!!! They brought my old '79 pop-up back to life! I was so pleased with everyone's service and assistance. I'm heavily involved in the fourwheeling community and camping is a huge aspect of our weekend wheeling trips. So my camper gets used frequently. My husband and I decided to full time for 6 months while we saved up money to build a house. We looked for a camper for a long time and finally found what we wanted at Dodd RV. We set it up with Dodd RV to have it delivered to our land weeks before we were to move out of the house we were renting. They kept delaying the time and when we would call them no one could give us a firm answer as to when they would deliver the camper. It was coming down to the time we HAD to be out of the house we were renting. We finally got them to deliver it 3 days before we had to be out. We needed it to be put on a very small hill for us to be able to hook it up to sewage and electricity. The driver would not do it and said he was told by Dodd RV to just drop it off and not put it on the hill. We spent two nights in the Camper and the first rain happened. It flooded in the camper like a waterfall!! We discovered a really bad patch job was done. They sold us a leaking camper and tried to patch it up hoping we would not complain. We complained and after much haggling, they decided they would fix it. It took them 3 weeks to fix this. All the while we had to stay with family. After they fixed it we set up another time to have it delivered. They did not meet that time it took two more dates before they finally delivered it. Did they set it back on the hill that it needed to go on to hook up sewage and electricity...nope. The driver said again Dodd RV told him to just drop it off and not set it up on the hill. BAD BAD customer service!! I would stay far far away from Dodd RV unless you want to be treated like this. Once they have your money they could care less! read more
