I've been going here for about a year and a half at least once a month. Every time I get the same act same thing. The D&B burger, which is excellent. It's a lunch special, $11.99 or something. I went back today and ordered the same thing as usual, ate it and then got the bill for $22.00. Ridiculous. They raised the price of the D&B burger by about $9.00 and took it off their lunch menu. I explained that the the waitress but she didn't seem to care at all that I was unaware of their menu change and then walked away. That'll be the last D&B burger I ever eat in my life. A shame because the food there was really good. read more

D&B is our favorite bar in the neighborhood. The food is delicious - great wings and sausage dogs. I would like to see them offer a better draft beer selection but they do have some nice can/bottle options. Service is typically good - bartenders Lee and Jerry are great. First Yelp review I have personally every written and it's for good reason. My brothers and extended family were in town visiting for the weekend so we decided to head on over to Dog & Bone for brunch. I cannot believe how awful the food was. Two of us ordered the BLT/Breakfast wrap and the bacon was served next to raw. The steak eggs had one temperature only, overcooked. Food was surprisingly poor quality - worse than my cooking (I cant cook!). For a restaurant with a specialization for sausage, their Zen Sausage looked and tasted like Grocery bought Italian sausage heated up in the oven. Frittata literally was a thin blob of egg (size of a lady's balm) with 3 pieces of pepper. We were the only customer during the 30 min (didn't think that was a good sign) we waited without water. My friend and I stopped by for a drink now that outdoor/sidewalk seating is now open in Phase 2. Dog and Bone did a great job of making sure we felt safe and I would absolutely return here! The servers were excellent and very attentive and the drinks were delicious and good value for money. They thoroughly sanitized the table before we sat down, the servers were wearing masks, the tables were spread out and we were far enough away from everyone else walking by on the sidewalk. I felt extremely safe and highly recommend this place for outdoor dining/drinks during Covid! read more

Received drinks after 20 minutes and four different times of being asked what we wanted. When the food arrived after 45 minutes it was cold. Receiving the replacement dishes took an additional 35 and when asked to see a manager the conversation was put off so long we had no choice but to eat out of needing a meal, not because we wanted to stay. 0/5 stars read more

Vegan dog is solid here! It is more like a sausage texture and flavor than those rubbery pink vegan pity party they serve at papaya. You can ask for it with various toppings like grilled onions, sauerkraut and relish. The housemade chips are so good! Perfect thickness and well salted. Bartender is super friendly and takes care of you. Music is hit or miss, but not terrible and at a good volume. Nice to come to a casual neighborhood bar and catch up with a group of friends where you can still hear one another but get smashed on stiff, generous pours. read more

I'm really not sure how to rate this place. I've gone twice, and both times the waiters (different ones) mocked one of my friends because they didn't want alcohol. That shouldn't ever be something that's up for debate. I'm not talking one quick jab either; both waiters made a point to make several statements making fun of my friend. If that wouldn't have happened, I would have given this place 4 stars, because in other areas it excels. They have a great happy hour deal with beer and dogs. All of the dogs we tried were great, although be careful because they are served so hot the juices are boiling! This comes with a small beer, although still a decent serving size. Full points on flavor and a great small meal for only $10. But less points for service. I'm still undecided if I'll come back here again. It probably won't be for a while! read more

Came here the week it opened for drinks. Things were still a but rough. Cool decor and nice roll up windows. Like the interior. Drinks were so so. The special cocktail of the day was just too sweet and low alcohol. Hopefully they have gotten the kinks ironed out. Definitely need to go back and try out the food. read more

I stopped in this place about 6 weeks ago. It was only opened a few days prior. Just my friend and I stopped in. We were greeted by two friendly bartenders. Nice drinks. I had a cheddarwurst that was very good and fresh with a clean snap. I look forward to returning when i am in the neighborhood to try some more of their menu. Go try it and ENJOY!!! read more

When you know, you know. Love this spot. The music is great feelgood upbeat groove pop. Staff is awesome and on point. "Dapper" Lee who seems born for the part, is an exceptional host. And Andrea, and Mike are great too and complete the crew. Very strong selection of interesting beers and liquor. Good food. Usually not silly crowded. Major plus. An all around class act of a bar. This place is a hidden gem in Kips Bay. The place is never overly crowded, there is ample space, the infrastructure is good (and not centuries old like other pubs), and the beer and food are great. There are vegetarian options (like veggie dogs for the hotdogs) and the impossible burger. The beer selection is reasonable and happy hour is generous (until 8 PM) most nights. I would have given this place a fifth star if the impossible burger had vegan cheese or burger sauce of some sort to add more taste. read more

Nice food but the portion for the price they have is a little pricey in my opinion but nice sausages. My friend really liked the bread pudding they have there. Do have some drinks but not as much draft beer as some of the other bars. Nice interior and a few cute decorations around with a warm atmosphere. I spent Sunday afternoon with an elderly friend who wanted to try this spot. My friend is disabled, and the staff did go out of their way to make sure we had a comfortable table where his rollator wouldn't block the aisle. But, the food was mediocre- his plate of Sunday Roast special lamb lollipops, vegetables, potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were served to him ice cold. They reheated the plate in their microwave which made the pudding tough and the lamb overdone. My brunch Full English Breakfast had American streaky bacon (minus), black pudding (plus), a large mushroom cap (plus) but no tomatoes and the beans overwhelmed my plate. I understood why my eggs were cold, the restaurant was very chilly. My two cups of tea were perfect, but my friend's was also served cold. I can't recommend this spot after this experience if you are looking for an English-style pub. read more

Wow! This place sucks- happy hour is long (11-8) but the offerings are pretty poor- $6 for a draft beer, $10 for a tiny pretzel or pathetic hot dog. I live very close to this place and have a dog and so it is perfect for hanging out in the patio. Service is lovely and they are dog friendly. We have been there more than once for lunch here. My son ordered the ploughman's lunch and it was pretty bad, actually. Served frozen and cold inside inside etc. but he didn't make a stink. We went back and this time we ordered a vegetarian pasty (we have a personal nostalgic connection to pasty) and bacon mac n cheese. Pasty was not bad at all - healthy veggies inside instead of the root vegetables that I am used to, but the crust was less than stellar. My son loved the mac n cheese; I didn't try it but it looked so good that I want to go back and ask them to make it without bacon. So why not 3 instead of 4 stars? The service, drinks, location, outdoor seating, dog-friendliness etc. We would go back for all these reasons and not just the food. Food only 3 stars. read more

Wanted to like this place but just couldn't. The first time I dined here the bartender got our entire order wrong, like complete 180 wrong. This was our second visit... after 20 mins I asked how our order was doing, we order two bratwursts, the bartender admitted he forgot to put the order in. Another 30 minutes later our food showed up, cold & stale, with a quick apology and a "your next round is on the house." Fast forward to the end of the meal, we waited another 20 mins for the bartender to notice we were done. Mind you if the place was busy I would get it, there were 5 of us at the bar.... Wonderful service, Jennifer was great! The food was delicious! I loved the vegan dog, it was definitely artisinal and fresh. I really enjoyed it! And my husband absolutely loved his wings. The atmosphere is fun, cool, cozy. And if you don't LOVE Winston, then you just aren't human - he is adorable and a total love bug!! Ordered the classic burger and the skirt steak, both medium, as well as French onion soup as an appetizer, plus some drinks. The drinks were good, but that is pretty much the only good thing about the experience. Steak and burger both came out nearly burnt, nowhere near medium. The sauce on the steak was far too salty and the fries were nearly burnt as well. The French onion soup didn't arrive until we were ready to leave, and the only excuse we got is that the cook got busy. For the price and what this place serves, there are MUCH better alternatives in the area. Would come back for a drink but most certainly not the food. read more

A great little bar and restaurant we walked past this busy little place a couple of times before deciding to try it out. They have quite a few different sausages/dogs on their menu we tried a few different ones the highlight for us was the Winston. I was staying at the ye ole Carton Arms Hotel, as ya do, and I came home late from a movie and a cup-a-joe with my friend Roy and I was powerful hungry. At first the prices seems a little steep. There were a couple sitting close to me, talking about things that were interesting. I silently studied the menu. I ordered Breakfast Poutine. Sorry, wrong menu. So I ordered the D&B Burger. A pretty nice looking burger showed up, with a heep of fries. The fries were a little bit soggy, but not inedible and certainly cooked with the skins on, which is what I prefer, since it implies they are cut on premises, as they should be. The male half of the couple, who sounded Australian said, so how's the burger, mate? Scale of one to ten? At first I reflexively gave it a 10 as I was hungry and it WAS very tasty. Then I started to analyze it at the prompting of the Aussie gent, as ya do. Mustard on the bottom bun, then two pieces of Romaine lettuce, then pickled onions, then the burger cooked a little past medium (ordered it medium), then tomatoes, then white cheddar cheese, on a very fresh brioche bun. I then started taking off points for the Romaine lettuce, which overhung the bun too much to be functional. I prefer Butter lettuce. The mustard wasn't spread evenly on the bottom of the bun. Not that big a deal. But it was a really good burger. It's the pickled onions. Not a thing you run into that much. I talked to the couple for a while. Almost walked out without paying! Lol. Waitress got a good tip for keeping my water glass filled the whole meal. I will return, no doubt. read more
