Friendly staff and great speakeasy pub atmosphere. The bar was busy and had a nice relaxed vibe. The Shepard pie was delicious and the salmon burger with fries was good. The Caesar salad was delicious and the friend calamari was good. It is a great place to go for a drink and some grub. This location participates in the blackbird program.

The waitress and bartender were very friendly. Menu had some very English food - fish and chips, shepard's pie, bangers and mash. We got fried calamari (nope that's not English, but was good!), meat pie with mash potatoes and fish and chips (very large piece and nicely crispy). For dessert, we shared a sticky toffee pudding with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, delicious. And of course some special beers.

Nice place to stop for a drink and some food. Good service, above average pub fare. Full bar.

Came here for a private Happy Hour event, so the space was reserved. The area was dimly lit and narrow with a back area and bar area with stools. The food was pretty standard for a bar. We had veggies, salad, fish & chips, and beef sliders. Since it was a happy hour, we did not have direct servers, but they came around to restock the food which was appreciated.

A pretty legit British pub in midtown Manhattan. Came here with my squash team after completing at a nearby fancy-smancy club. One of my teammates happen to be British so it got his stamp of approval for the establishment being legit. All of the tables were taken, so we went to the bar, where there was available seating along the wall. We had to order our food and drinks at the bar, but they did bring out the food to serve us. I tried their Old Speckled Hen ($10), which is a legit British beer not owned by AB-Inbev. Since it's very hard to find a place to get this, I had to give it a try. Not bad I must admit. Foodwise, I got the classic Fish & Chips ($29). The filet is pretty decent sized and thick. Could use a bit more tartar sauce. Filling and satisfying.

I have been to the Raines Law Room inside The William on several occasions, and I was excited to try out this more relaxed environment. Our group's reservation placed us in a booth right next to the bar. Although we had some privacy, we had to rely on the bartender to take our orders. Even though the bar was located below the speakeasy, it was just a regular bar with cocktails on the pricey side. I suggest getting the beer and food instead. The salmon burger, regular burger, grilled cheese, and shepherd's pies were all delicious.

You are in for a fun night after you start vibing with the bartenders. I had the pleasure of meeting an Austin who is from Georgia. Austin knows his beers. He had me try the Wild East Temperance. I know good beers but HOLY that is some good Beer. The atmosphere is English pub vibes but with American sports.

I've been to this place like almost over 8 years ago and recently came here on a date. We had an amazing waitress. Her name's Melody, and she was attentive and cordial. The food was good. We had the scotch eggs and the wings. My date was hoping we would get the snug room, which is sort of a private dining experience for 5-6 people. Book ahead to get it. After speaking with the waitress and requesting for it. She said she would try to see it and she gave us the room! She's truly amazing! Even though my date didn't work out, I still had an amazing experience here, thanks to the staffs especially the waitress who made my day! So I give 10/10 for the service and I will come here again with my girlfriends. Thank you, Melody, for making my experience here memorable and for being accommodating! And an awesome bartender, too!

Do they still serve English breakfast?

Yes, we are serving our full English breakfast on Sundays from 12pm.

Is it wheelchair accessible? it's difficult to tell from the outside photos

There is a ramp which goes under the front stairs you see and the ramp leads you to the lower bar / lounge. I'm not sure about access to the 2nd level though.

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with champagne, which immediately set the tone for a special evening. Our server, Daniel, was beyond amazing. The team went above and beyond when we brought our wedding cake (which had been frozen for a year). Not only did they accommodate it without hesitation, they helped decorate and present it beautifully you would have thought it had been baked that same day. It was such a touching moment for us, and they handled it with care and enthusiasm. As for the food: incredible. The steak tartare was perfectly balanced and beautifully prepared. The tuna was fresh and vibrant. And the Beef Wellington... honestly one of the best I've had in New York City. Perfectly cooked, rich, elegant, and absolutely worthy of a celebration dinner. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance: romantic, warm, refined but relaxed. It felt special without being stiff. If you're looking for a place to celebrate something meaningful, this is it. Fortunately, The Grey Dog's Chelsea location had a large picnic table in the back (and yes, we had to make a reservation in advance). Even so, the seating was a bit tight and uncomfortable. FRIED CHICKEN & JOHNNY CAKES - 18 I wanted a mix of sweet and savory, so this option seemed like a good one. Each order came with two strips of fried chicken tenders placed on top of two large cornmeal pancakes, each bigger than my face. The fried chicken was heavily-breaded (perhaps a bit too much), with white chicken meat underneath that varied between juicy and dry The pancakes themselves were pretty forgettable, and I wasn't a big fan of the lemon ricotta or chili-spiced syrup on the side. Most of our group found their entrees pretty underwhelming. Additionally, service was really slow, and the kitchen forgot an order. Personally, I wouldn't return, especially with so many other great options within two minutes walk away. Edit: Owner pointed out that their chicken is not breaded. What I meant is that the chicken is heavily-battered. Sorry!

Probably the worst food I've had in manhattan to date. We got the shaved steak sandwich which was awful. The steak was somehow raw (we asked for medium well) and rubbery and overly chewy all at the same time. Also tasted like it was seasoned with a pinch of salt and nothing else. The caesar salad was abysmal. They make their own dressing which is usually a good thing but that was not the case here. The dressing tasted like anything but caesar. We told the waitress and asked for new entrees because we couldn't even take another bit of either. We chose chicken tenders and a burger because we figured you can't mess that up. Well.... The burger was also pretty terrible and the chicken tenders tasted of old oil. Now one would think if food isn't their strong suit, maybe they make up for it in their drinks. WRONG. Moscow Mule was not in a copper cup. Instead it was out of a plastic cup made to look like copper. It also tasted like flavored water. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the waitresses gave us new food (also bad) and we're apologetic but it's not their fault. Don't come here for anything other than a beer since they can't mess that up
