Fried pickles were stellar, curly fries were bitchin', grilled chicken salad was fresh, and the Buffalo duck wings, absolutely choice. So tender and loaded with deep flavor. Weird part is, they didn't tell me there would be animals in the restaurant making primal sounds while I was eating... (It was me, I was howling). Came in for happy hour and even though they said that it lasts until 8 on Tuesdays, apparently it does not. That being said, the bartender was nice and gave me one at happy hour prices. The place was empty when I went, but the bartenders seem chill and there was decent music playing. There was a ton of seating (since it was empty) and was your standard run of the mill bar. The Winslow was exactly what we needed after a chaotic night. We came here to relax and calm down and the atmosphere was perfect for that. I ordered an Irish mule and it was really good, smooth and refreshing without being too heavy. It fit the vibe of the night really well. There was a small hiccup when the bartender accidentally spilled a Guinness on my friend's jacket. She did give her a shot which was a nice gesture, but spilling beer on a jacket is still not ideal. Yes! Solid, clean, energetic bar with a massive Gin library, but the place is more than just diverse gin. The staff is friendly, the setup is perfect for intimate dates, groups of friends, and large events. Happy hour is a must here - how can you pass on a $7 Aperol Spritz or an $8 Gin-and-tonic-of-the-day? Apparently Happy Hour has been expanded to 8PM (as opposed to 7PM on their website), so spend an extra hour there and get happy! Love this place, can't wait to go back. read more

Walked in today at 4:17pm to watch a 4:25 Bills game. Was sat at a high top for 2 since 2 of us. When I asked for a lower table, the waiter with gray long hair and glasses rudely said, we expect to be "full" so he couldn't sit us at 4-top. It was five minutes before the game started dude, when are you going to be full?! I asked for a table in room towards the back - he said it's closed. Understood but the place was practically empty (except for the bar) with many tables empty. He asked for a credit card to start a tab when I ordered one non-alcoholic drink & didn't even finish looking at the menu. I asked to pay in cash as I'm not comfortable re bar tabs because recently had a fraud situation on my card. He snapped back to just order at the bar! THEN, the tables remained empty for the entire game including the one we asked for AND he sat 2 other customers at a 4-top when he told us that he couldn't. I work in hospitality and this waiter was the rudest person I ever encountered at a bar/restaurant. I'm a Bills fan & a NYC tour guide. I WON'T be going back to the Winslow & will NOT refer any of my friends or clients there. I was there once before & a different waiter was friendly but the food (except for fries) is not good. I hosted a get-together (~20 people) at the Winslow and had the best experience! Catarina responded to my request very quickly and was really nice and helpful. They blocked off a great portion of their space for my group so we had plenty of seating, and the minimum spend was super reasonable. We had Kareem taking care of us for the whole time and he was warm, friendly, and really on top of it. Everyone had a fantastic time. The drinks are also awesome - as gin fan, definitely one of the best selections in all of NYC. Probably the best when you combine it with the great vibes. Good for happy hour! The drinks and food are delicious! I had this lavender gin cocktail which I can't recall the name of but it was tasty. If you're like me and don't care for egg whites on your drinks, I promise it's mild. Definitely try the Korean style duck wings and the cheese curds. Both are packed with flavor and come in a good portion size. I will say the happy hour drink menu isn't great as it's very limited. I don't believe they have happy hour food specials which would also be nice. I wanted to give them five stars but the bartenders and servers were not attentive at all. The cocktail had a dried grapefruit garnish but otherwise, the flavor didn't really come through. To eat, we had the veggie chili nachos. They were loaded with bean chili, cheese sauce, sour cream, and pickled jalapeños. The tortilla chips were thick, house style and held up well even with all the toppings. It was hearty and a good portion size. We added guacamole for $2 extra. We also had the mac and cheese with jalapeños. They used shell pasta. Their other drink selection is not as strong, but they have the basics and some beers on tap. They have a gin flight if you want to try some different options. The portions of the food here were massive. We had five people and were able to essentially share four dishes. I wouldn't expect to come here for a life changing meal, but it's a place that gets the job done if you're looking for something like this. It wasn't overwhelmingly crowded at about 10 PM, but I imagine it gets pretty hectic a bit later. While I didn't have any drinks or food here, I just want to give a shout-out to the staff for being SO attentive. Seriously, that was some of the best service I've gotten in NYC. They checked on us so often, and it was either the owner or just a very experienced server, but his attentiveness was impressive. I hosted my 30th birthday party here. I am very glad I found this place! Such a hidden gem. It was the perfect balance of wild fun / private intimate gathering. There was another 30th birthday being held at the same time in the main bar area, and I had the famous "back room" reserved for my guests only. They were allowed to arrive and leave anytime during the alloted time slot reserved. Catarina was super responsive and helpful in organizing the event leading up to it, and our host and server Joe was very attentive and hospitable. He was super friendly and made everything stress free. The DJ was AMAZING!!!! He played all the best songs for the crowds of two 30-year-old 90s babies, haha. There is a TV in the back room so I brought my laptop and bought an HDMI converter to hook up to the screen to display a slideshow of old photos/memories, which was a huge hit with my guests. The drinks are obviously all gin focused, but they had several different options and all were great! They let me bring my own cake for a fee. No fee to reserve the room, just a food/drink minimum that was easily reached by the end of the night. The remainder of my party wanted to hang around after our time slot to chill and catch up more, and we were able to extend the reservation an hour later than intended no problem. :) The only negative thing I can think of is that the lighting was REALLY dim so the room had a really dark vibe. We asked if the lights could be turn up more, but they had reached their brightest capacity. All our photos taken came out very dark/blurry... :/ You also unfortunately (but understandably!!) can't tape anything to the walls because of wallpaper, so we had to be creative with decorations on the 2 glass windows. Nevertheless, a lot of wonderful memories were made with my closests friends that I will cherish always. I will definitively consider booking a party here in the future, and you should to!!!! I hosted my engagement party at The Winslow and it was the second best decision I made that day (other than proposing to my fiancé). I originally got my fiance's number when we were at the Winslow several years ago so to say the place has a special place in our hearts is an understatement.
