came for happy hour on a Friday afternoon and it was such a pleasant experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We opted for street table as it was beautiful weather. Can't beat witnessing NYC traffic, along with weirdos passing you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was a full house, inside and out; so we were not so loud but still slightly screaming when the sirens were on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Waitress was very friendly, explanatory, patient and attentive. Food- we ordered mainly appetizers as we weren't so hungry and EVERYTHING was phenomenal! The waitress recommended us the chipotle wings and OMG! Finger licking good! We didn't like the nachos presentation, as the cheese was stuck to the wooden plate but overall the taste made up for it. The street corn was amazingly seasoned and prepped. I did take a to go bag- not in any pictures. Artichoke dip- well seasoned and not very cheesy to my taste. Steak sandwich- well cooked and seasoned. Mac and cheese- there are chicken pieces but it was a bit spicy for my taste. Will definitely return to try more plates and the chipotle wings!!

Aperol Spritz

Fell upon this place on a Thursday night before a late dinner and it was a great time! We would have stayed to have dinner if we didn't already have a reservation at another place. The place is packed due to their $5 aperol spritz deal from 4PM-late, but it looks like they have really good deals throughout the weekdays so I assume it is generally going to be crowded during those times. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They are a pretty sizable restaurant with a lot of seated tables and also a larger bar with ample standing room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were really nice and it was surprisingly easy to get a drink when needed at the bar. They had lines of aperol spritz glasses ready to be filled and they filled them so quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe when we went seemed to be younger professionals getting a drink after work and many were in groups larger than 4.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There also seemed to be quite a few people sitting and eating at the tables so I'm excited to try their food menu in the future.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice place! One of the best pubs in the city, popular for brunch and parties.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been going here for years. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Housed in an old Village building, the all-brick room is spacious with high ceilings.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I love being there! Good food, excellent hospitality and service. I like their salads topped with grilled salmon. When I make it my meal of the day, I lose weight.

I've been going to The Penny Farthing for a while when I'm in the area. We have always had a great experience and this recent Valentine's Day did not disappoint. My wife, friend and I met up before a concert and had some delicious appetizers. Chx quesadilla was great (huge portion too!) and the spinach artichoke dip was the best I've ever personally had! Tara took care of us at the bar and was super friendly! Excellent service and my wife loved her espresso martini! Thanks for a great evening! Hope to see y'all soon.

Fried chicken sandwich

Hmmm I've had my fair share of fried chicken sandwiches and I really wouldn't call this fried. It was giving grilled chicken tenders put between pieces two pieces of bread. Wouldn't order again

Food- 4/5 Service- 3/5 Ambiance- 4/5 Penny you played with the lack of refried beans on those nachos !!! The chicken however was DELICIOUS! I'd def. try other dishes based on how well seasoned the nachos were. The service was going ok until the end. I selected "no tip" bc I paid a 20% tip in cash... And.. there was a service charge on the bill And... when I hit no tip (had cash in my hand) the server literally spinned around and walked off... the sign inside reads "all day espresso martinis" The sign outside said "11AM- late" well ladies and gents, on this Wednesday, late was 8:30PM, I told the server that I wish I'd known bc I would've ordered multiple when I sat and she informed me you can only order 1 at a time... So keep these things in mind when planning your visit 1) $5 martinis are NOT ALL DAY on Wednesdays and 2) it's 1 martini at a time so if you really want to enjoy it like I wasn't able to this trip... start at 11AM when they do Post denial following the initial martini, the experience was a wrap! 1 thumb up and would def return for food and to get the full $5 espresso martinis affect

Nephew brought me here to have pre dinner coffee martini on a wednesday night. We came on around 530pm and we were quickly seated at the bar. The bartender was friendly & nice. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place has a good cosy ambience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place feels spacious and not so loud. We could carry conversation with out shouting at each other.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would probably come back to have a meal next time. Glance at the menu, food looks good & prices reasonable.

MANHATTAN/East Village: The Penny Farthing is a cozy restaurant with wood accents, brick walls, and just enough sunlight coming in to add to the warm feeling. We stopped by for a quick drink and were pleasantly surprised that leashed and friendly dogs are allowed inside. A hot apple cider was mixed perfectly for a tasty drink to add to the comfortable atmosphere. Lunch and dinner are served every day with added brunch on the weekends. Check out this sports bar to watch the game with American style food.

I'm spoiled here lmao that's all ima say ! I had multiple items on the menu the food never disappoints. They are so consistent! I say I'm only coming for a beer end up staying all day hanging out eating meeting new people this place is just the best shout to James he use to work there great Irishman.

Laid back neighborhood bar vibe. They do offer food, such as steak/cobb/chicken salad, as well as burgers and chicken sandwiches. A few pasta dishes. They have a brunch with the typical fare: pancakes, burritos, poached eggs, steak, French toast. This is more of a spot to stop by for some drinks. They have a large draft and bottled beer selection, as well as hard seltzers. They do have a few house cocktails: Virtual Insanity: teremana reposed, Campari, lime juice, pineapple juice, and simple syrup. Poison: tanteo tequila spicy margarita with a tajin rim All mixed up: Vodka, Bailey's, simple syrup, strawberries Hot topic: gin, cucumber, lemon, simple syrup, egg white Bad reputation: whiskey, honey, lemon, simple syrup. The cocktails are decent. Not the best I've ever had, but would be a decent stop on a bar crawl or for a casual evening. If you're here, you're probably not looking for innovative craft cocktails or gourmet food. Service was laid back and made sure I was taken care of.

Espresso martinis

$5 espresso martini CANNOT be beat. They had a nice punch and the ambiance was casual but clean with really friendly patrons to chat with as the night went on. I'm not the biggest espresso martini person either, but this place will certainly convert you. It helps that the music here is great as well! A gem in a sea of overpriced cocktail spots.

No frills exposed wood and brick bar, packed with locals as they enjoyed a well-chilled, reasonable-sized pint. Good energy and not too packed as to be uncomfortable, still found a slot by the bar with our group of seven. The bar was busy, two bartenders were efficient but it did take a wait sometimes so have patience. Crowd skews a bit younger with NYU close by, and music is very loud, with TVs in the background if you're a sports fan (no audio over the music though). Haven't tried the food here, but if I'm around next time after happy hour, will give it a shot!

It feels like I am a regular as I am treated with love and a high level of friendly service. The atmosphere is perfect and feels just like a bunch of people who know each other in a bar. There was a small issue with something in a glass of the ice water and the server apologized twice and brought us a new glass no questions asked. That is a high level of service for a pub. Would highly recommend this place.

We started the meal off with their steak nachos which were pretty good, but I would have loved to see it come with sour cream and a bit of salsa. I had the Ten House burger cooked medium. It was ok. Nothing to write home about but the flavors were less than I'd hoped for. My date picked up the BLT which they thought was fair. Not sure if I'd run back to this pub but then again I wouldn't say no if we were in the area.

The moment you step inside, you're transported to the Victorian era, with ornate details and charming décor that make the entire space feel like an experience in itself. We stopped in before a show without a reservation and, while the dining room was full, we were able to grab seats at the bar. Honestly, I think it worked out for the best--the bar felt more spacious than the table seating and had a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere for a Wednesday afternoon. The mocktails were as creative as they were delicious, and the cocktail menu offered plenty of tempting options as well. The bartenders were attentive, friendly, and impressively efficient, striking that perfect balance of great service without constantly interrupting your conversation. We shared the sliders and the summer salad, and both were generously portioned and perfect for splitting. Between the beautiful setting, excellent drinks, and seamless service, this is definitely a place I'll be returning to.

This particular Sunday, the crowd was a bit animated with the World Cup Final match between victorious Spain over Argentina. I saddled up at the bar and ordered a Guinness on tap poured with the right amount of head on top. It's a good tap here. I ordered the Irish Chicken Curry served half and half with white rice and French fries. It's a substantial serving for about $27 and a good value for Midtown. Strips of white meat chicken with a curry sauce that is more sweet than spicy, but certainly not overly sweet. The rice melded nicely with the sauce, which resembles gravy. The fries take on a poutine like character with the curry sauce and these are good fries on their own. I ordered another Guinness and ordered a Shepherd's pie and Irish beef stew to go, both around $25. The Shepherd's pie is as one would expect, with a thick layer of mashed potatoes over the beef. The Irish beef stew has plenty of carrot and celery chunks and some onions in a gravy with a modest amount of beef chunks over mashed potatoes. I found they go well together heated in a Pyrex dish in the oven. I found the meat in the Irish beef stew to be ironically wanting for such an eponymously named dish, but it is still quite good, with the beef tender and moist in the gravy. This is comfort food to the max. Service is great here. The atmosphere is great and what's not to like at The Long Hall. The bar is well stocked and the kitchen is up to the task, serving up what people like at a decent rate for Midtown. I would only ask to bump up the beef in the beef stew. 3.9 returnworthy stars!

Service from the bartender was great. I ordered the fish and chips and a Bloody Mary. Everything was great up till then. Unfortunately, the food was a disappointment. Maybe it was a deep fat fryer thing, but I respectfully suggest the cook be given a little additional training. The fish batter was hard on the outside, and the fish was completely mushy on the inside. Like, gray mush. The fries were lukewarm. The mushy peas and the tartar sauce were served in little covered plastic disposable containers. I'm not a fan of that, but I get it is convenient. I truly wanted to like this place, and except for my one experience with the food, I would certainly return. People were having fun, and I did as well. I believe if they become a little more attentive in the kitchen, this place is a five star pub.
