I have been here twice already, and I love this place so far! So I had been eyeballing Dog Haus for a long time because the food looked so good. However, Dog Haus is about ten miles away from me and there's often traffic on the way, so it's not like I can just make a few blocks and arrive. Additionally, I usually eat low carb, so a place that specializes in hot dogs, burgers, and burritos is often a no-go unless I can do a lettuce wrap. But honestly, I just tolerate most lettuce wraps unless the lettuce isn't crunchy. In other words, I usually wouldn't go out of my way to get a lettuce wrap or go figure out if a place has the blah crunchy type of lettuce wrap or not. So one fateful day, everything just happened to line up. I wasn't eating low carb one day and Dog Haus happened to be on the way home. I stopped in and was instantly surprised by the menu. They had an option to make some meals into bowls! I hadn't really looked at pictures of the menu inside the store in like a year, but even now a lot of the pictures here on Yelp display the menus that don't offer those options. Sorry I didn't take pictures of the menu myself. You can make certain meals a lettuce wrap or a bowl which helps make this a pretty low carb/keto friendly place. The first time, I got the Holy Aioli in its proper form. The combination of the King's Hawaiian Bread (?), the soft meat, and the aioli was great! It can start to drip a bit, but I always expect that from a burger anyway. I was back to low carb the next day, but I was excited to try something as a bowl for my next visit. On my second visit, I ordered the Holy Aioli again as a bowl. I didn't expect much, but I was happy to try it out. I wouldn't say it beats the taste of the burger with bread, but honestly... even if I wasn't eating low carb, I think I'd probably get it as a bowl again. It was a pretty large portion, and I felt like it was really worth the price! I can put down some food, but even I had to leave some of my bowl for later. It might not look super pretty, but I don't really care about that. The bowl was a MEAL and later on it was a snack. This place rocks! I'm including pictures of the bowl with soda sized cans to help give an idea on how big it is. Ah yes, I had also ordered the Fonz for my mom the second time I went. Seems like she liked it! Now as for customer service, I did notice they only really greet and talk to you once you get to the counter even if they see you come in. It's not a big deal and I actually am fine with them treating their voices better that way by not shouting "welcome" across the room. I know others probably won't like that though, so maybe a little wave of acknowledgement would be good? It doesn't really matter to me though, because they were still friendly, helpful, and attentive. I know some people would walk right out unless they receive a greeting though, so it might be something for them to note for the future. Overall, Dog Haus is great! I've got nothing bad to say about this place, so here goes nothing.. Location: on the corner of Western Ave and Avalon. Part of the building that looks like a mixed use structure with retail shops on the 1st floor and business tenants and apartments (?) on the upper floors. Parking is also on the first floor. In between an IHOP and a Darrow's New Orleans restaurant. Don't ask me how they fit a IHOP in a shop that small. Food: I originally came here mistakenly thinking they were giving out free hot dogs for Hot Dog Day, but I missed it by a day. So, I got the Bacon burrito since they started offering those a few weeks ago. Plenty of bacon and this thing was not of a small size. I ended up eating the other 1/2 later that day as part of a late dinner. Very filling ( I suspect due to the tater tots) and cheesy with a nice touch of spicy aioli. Yeah, ,I knew I was coming back here again, and I did. Another night (late) I came in for the Chili the Kid. Wow, a chili dog done right. I don't know what kind of hot dog they use, but it was snappy and juicy and not overdone. Probably the wurst thing for those with GI issues ,but it is well worth it IMO. Ambiance: Not sure how to describe it, but it's definitely casual with a modern feel with hard benches and minimal decor. If I have one complaint is that both times I was there, the music was a bit too loud and this was when the place didn't have more than 6 people at one time. Summary: The staff was friendly and curteous. Service was quick and the restaurant was clean. The place is open until midnight so this a good spot for late night eats or a snack. Quality of the food is very good and don't even bother telling me what goes in a hot dog. I already know and I'm good with it. I think there's a kid's menu too, but not sure on that one. Yes, they have alcohol. Prices are on par with their competitors and there are various locations throughout LA,, so pick your spot. I'm sticking to the one in Carson. Happy eating!!! read more

Parking is a little challenging around that area. Once I got in, I ordered a chili cheese dog, and it was really good! The staff was friendly. The place felt comfortable. Outdoor seating is available. I'd definitely come back again! For a hotdog place, I would be interested in a Chicago style dog or a South American style dog. This is the best würst sausage ever! Where has Dog Haus been all my life?! All their burgers and sausages are served on king Hawaiian rolls which make for a great combo of sweet and salty flavors. My favorite this trip was the Little Mule burger since it had avocado, cotija, pickled jalapeños, and an egg. All their sauces really bring everything together too, especially on their Reuben tots! The pepperoni pizza sausage is available until the end of April! They change their special every month so be sure to try it soon. read more

We found out they had breakfast burritos, and decided to check it out. I ordered the bacon burrito with scrambled eggs, bacon (of course), white American cheese, tots, and carmelized onions. I didn't mind the spicy mayo as it brought it all together well. My girlfriend went for the little mule burrito with sausage instead of bacon and truly enjoyed it. We also had classic OJ to go along with it, and despite the wait, I was happy with how it all came out. I specifically ordered a bad mother clucker sandwich and said no spice, not only did they give me the wrong sandwich but they gave me the hot chicken sandwich too. I couldn't even check my order because they sealed the bag. I wouldn't recommend it again as I ended up paying for a sandwich I couldn't eat as spicy food upsets my stomach. I had the impossible cali burrito and it was so tasty. Such a huge serving and every ingredient tasted fresh. Terrible customer service. We placed an order for a corporate event and received a call 15 minutes before the scheduled pickup time from Angelica at the restaurant telling us the order would not be ready for another 1.5 hours. She said they didn't receive the order in time, even though we had placed it 3 days in advance. Instead of offering an apology or trying to help resolve the issue, she rudely asked if I still wanted the order or not. Since it was for a corporate event and there was no time to find food elsewhere at the last minute, I said yes. Unfortunately, the experience only got worse when I arrived to pick up the food. The order took even longer than promised, and no one offered any apology for the delay or inconvenience. When I asked Angelica for contact information to file a complaint, she became upset and began yelling at me when I handed back the pen and pad she had given me to write the information down. The manager did not step in to calm the situation until she had already been yelling for several minutes. The entire experience was a nightmare. The lack of professionalism and basic customer service from both Angelica and the manager was extremely disappointing. We will no longer be ordering from that establishment. read more

This is a great place for drinks and food. Parking is inside the house. They have tv for sports game especially for baseball and basketball. I had the little mule and tator tots. Made to perfection. The food is good, but on 12/21/25, they did not give me a corn dog I paid for, and gave me regular fries instead of sweet potato fries. When I got home, I called (6:30pm) to simply ask for a refund of $6.99 for the corn dog, i was placed on an automated hold for over 30 minutes. DogHaus started in Pasadena in 2010 and has now started to spread across the country. I haven't been to any other locations, so I can't really say if this location is better or worse than other DogHaus locations. The general theme is 'gourmet' hot dogs, with a modern twist. No plain beef dogs in a hot dog bun. The hot dogs (or sausage for some choices) are of excellent quality, wrapped in Kings Hawaiian Sweet Rolls, with condiments that are applied with a swirl. I generally don't care for sweet foods, especially foods that are traditionally considered to be savory. I understand the need to try something different to stand out, but I would have preferred more traditional hot dog buns, or, at least, an option to use a more traditional bun. All the dogs and sandwiches are good. I can't really say any particular one is better or worse than any other, there just are different options, that are all pretty good in the end. My favorite is probably the Reservoir Dog, which comes with sausage, chili, slaw, and mustard. If hot dogs are not to your taste, the Bad Mutha Clucka chicken sandwich is a nice alternative. read more
