Everything at Dog Tag is amazing! My sister is allergic to tree nuts and can't usually eat at any bakery and cafe so she is very excited to be able to eat here. The staff are so kind and accommodating. Highly recommend the quiche and the baked goods!

Stumbled upon this place en route to another Georgetown site. Decided to stop in and get a snack. This cozy bakery supports and hires veterans, which already sounded promising. The shop sells a variety of pastries, desserts, breakfast sandwiches, and beverages. The walls sell gift items like coffee tins, books, and mugs. I ordered butter croissant (and had it heated up). Staff members were friendly. The croissant was very buttery, delicate crispy on the outside. The warmth from the heating made the pastry taste even better. They also had complementary water and cups near the front of the bakery. Great place to relax and have a comforting meal or snack.

Dog Tag made a chocolate cake, cupcakes and cookies for my sons dinosaur themed 3rd birthday party. They were all beautiful and tasted amazing. Thanks so much!!!

This is a very good baked goods and coffee shop on a back side street in Georgetown Washington, D.C. Upon entering this place you get pristine vibes as the interior features fresh visuals as the decor sits in front of white walls, cozy seating perfectly situated throughout, and glass showcases housing their baked goods. You also immediately recognize that the interior design features old equipment on display, calligraphy on message boards, and crafty, handmade products for purchase which resemble a previous American time periods. The staff here are also friendly and assist by offering purchase recommendations. There mission here is to honor the military community and they accomplish this by incorporating this sentiment into their decor. Overall the baked goods, both sweet and savory, are delicious. I do appreciate the attention to detail and quality in their baked goods. Pride certainly was at the forefront of decision-making when this shop first opened and it seems 10 years later they're holding on to their business values. I'll certainly continue to visit here when in the area.

Love that this place supports an amazing cause! Food: pretty good! Would definitely recommend the ham sandwich. Had a vanilla latte too which was decent. Overall, this is a great quick place to grab breakfast! Service: the barista was helpful when I was trying to decide which sandwich to get and made a great recommendation

    Sample of the baked goods

The food is simply delicious! They were out of some of the things we wanted to try by noon so it's best to go earlier! Not only are you getting good food...but also giving to a great cause. Service is as good too! Friendly people and nice setting. The only downfall was the parking...took a little bit of time explaining my 4 stars.

This was a location that was part of a food tour that I was a part of. Besides being a bakery, they offered a fellowship program to help veterans. This was also a non-profit organization on top of that program. Besides typical baked goods, they also served breakfast and lunch sandwiches. I was able to have butterscotch blondie. This was very tasty. The blondie was of good size and was sweet, but not overly sugary where it was a concern. My favorite part of this was the texture. It was not dry at all, but it did not fall apart when eating it either. Will I go back? Of course.

    - Got the matcha latte - No sweetness at all - The interior looks like a good working space - a lot of people were sitting around on their laptops

This is such a beautiful bakery. They have a wonderful environment if you want to catch up with a friend or work remotely for a few hours (wifi passes are limited to 3 hours from the register). Funding goes towards programs for veterans to empower their transition or to offer workshops to learn new skills. They have a wide variety of pastries-- both savory and sweet. I tried their seasonal latte which was a rose water latte and so comforting. Definitely recommend supporting this business if you are coming to Georgetown!

A cute pastry tucked away in Georgetown. They have a great mission of hiring and supporting Veterans, so you're eating good and supporting a great cause. I highly recommend their pastries and breakfast sandwiches. They have a few spots inside, but I recommend going to the waterfront to eat if the weather is nice. Cherry Mousse Panna Cotta - The salted dark chocolate crumbles on top was the best part of this light dessert! Cherry Cupcake - The cherry buttercream was perfect! Pink Velvet Cookie - I am a sucker for anything with white chocolate! Honey Thyme Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich - It's just better than any other sandwich. The eggs and bacon are cooked perfectly but the thyme honey combo of the biscuit really brings it all together.

They are open until 1 PM on Saturdays, we reached at around 11:30 AM and I was half hoping for them to be out of most items. Fortunately, even though they were super packed, we were able to find all of the items we were looking for - thanks to the hard working staff as they continue to make their pastries until closing - unlike so many other bakeries these days that make a certain amount and call it a day! Now to the food, everything we had was absolutely phenomenal! I am not a donut person but I loved theirs as they were very flavorful and weren't too sweet. I definitely prefer their Ube and Pandan over the Black sesame donut. The Matcha chocolate croissant and the Ube Kouign Amann were my favorites of the bunch! I cannot recommend them enough, this will surely be my first stop every time I am in DC!

It must be said that I received the items cold and tasted them cold and reheated. Matcha Chocolate Twice Baked croissant - 6/10 - this rating is about my personal taste, not the quality of the croissant. I'm sure this is a matcha lovers dream and I was impressed by how much filling was in the croissant, especially considering the filling didn't affect the texture of the bread. This was good cold but even better reheated. Bread still had a crunch and the filling consistency was great, but again just not my thing. Strawberry milk - 10/10 - can I curse real quick ? £#%K this was delicious. I could put this filling on just about anything and be satisfied. It was rich but not overly sweet and paired really well with the pastry. I do not know how they manage to have the pastry keep its shape with the amount of filling they're putting inside but I appreciate it. The pastry has a great bite to it and the pearls and frosting adding a slight contrast to the texture was needed because too much of one texture creeps me out. I took a look at their menu and absolutely want to try their cookies the mango sweet tart, and the Ube Cheese Kouign Amann so I will be back !

Makes business easier, but not as attractive for price point for customers. I'll remember to keep it to coffee and pastries from now on. Chicken pita was good, a bit heavy on the parsley but loved the dressing. Tuna sandwich was a hit. Pastries are always good. My pistachio latte was chewy bc it had grainy bits of pistachio in it. I had absolutely no plans on buying or eating cake that day, but as a cake lover stuff happens. It was such a cute building the pastries had to be everything! It turned out to be the perfect stop. 1. The looks The building itself is so cute on the outside, and being a fan of the color pink, it instantly caught my attention. Inside, it feels less like a fast, high volume bakery and more like an intimate cake boutique. It gives small town where the owners know you by your first name. You can feel that real love was put into the space and the baking. Tasted like every ingredient was hand mixed, every cake hand frosted, and every cookie carefully hand scooped. They even served my slice of coconut cake on a real plate, which was such a cute, bourgeois touch that I loved. 2. Service The hospitality here is top-notch. On my first visit, yes you heard me! Lol! The gentleman Eric who rang me up was incredibly knowledgeable about all the different cookie and cake flavors. I ended up returning the very next day, and although he wasn't there, the other two staff members working which included Mikaela were absolutely delightful and so kind. The young lady told me her daughter loves the carrot cake as well and Mikaela said they started working there because they loved the patties so much! 3. The Cakes -Coconut Cake: This slice was so delicious, fluffy, and airy that it instantly reminded me of being a kid at holiday family meals with a fresh coconut cake on the table. -Carrot Cake: It was everything you want a carrot cake to be. It was nice and dense yet soft, with a pleasant texture from the added fruits. Definitely noticed pineapple bits! The cream cheese frosting wasn't overly thick and was so good you could eat it completely by itself. -Strawberry Cupcakes: I stole a small bite of my son's. unfortunately, this one was my least favorite. The frosting had a little chemical taste to it but it was a super cute cupcake. To answer your question, will I return? Absolutely! If you are in the DC area or planning a trip there soon, check this spot out. It truly feels like a mom and pop or pop and pop boutique. Not a bakery but a BOUTIQUE! Check them out! Tell them Anisha from Milwaukee sent you! (Not that they'd remember it just sounds cute!)

I was so excited to try some of these harder to find pastries. I had a Turkish beef börek and a cheese finger börek. They warmed them up for me, but they still weren't very warm - I'd probably ask for them to warm them up twice next time. The beef börek was good; the cheese finger börek was good, too, if maybe a teensy bit dry. I also got one of their signature coffees. While these coffees sound interesting and delicious and creative, I wish there an option or two that weren't as sweet. I tried the Sultan's Velvet, which was just way too sweet for me. Next time, I'll stick to a classic coffee - an americano or a cappuccino - since they have it all. There's quite a bit of seating - some downstairs, some upstairs, and some outside. I sat down and read my book while I enjoyed my pastries. It's definitely the kind of place that is comfortable to sit and enjoy. The customer service was friendly and fast. Overall, I'm glad I stopped by Caspian Crust. Georgetown is lucky to have several pastry shops/bakeries, but Caspian Crust is different and stands out. Its focus on Turkish and Azerbaijani pastries means that there's something for everyone - some classics for those folks who like what they like with their coffee, more savory pastries with meat or cheese or olives, and some sweet but less common pastries as well. Great flavors and variety. It's also cozy, comfortable, and casual, with good customer service. I'd be happy to return.
